Alien Invasion (2019) Movie Review

Hey everyone, it’s NerdySully

and welcome to my review of a movie
called Alien Invasion, which was released in 2019
– and contrary to what the pic here is –
it does not take place in Roswell.
However, it does take place in what I’d guess is a
Western US rural area near the Rockies
and it follows a journalist on her attempts to uncover
what actually happened in an abandoned military facility.
From what you can see in the trailer,
you know what to expect,
however, I did not expect it to get into really messed up territory.
The rest of this review is going
to get into spoiler heavy content,
so I’ll just summarize now before then.
I don’t think this movie was bad or good either –
somewhere in the middle
with some questionable casting choices and plot decisions.
I would rate it a pass
with a score of a fifty out a hundred
and for those who really want to feel uncomfortable watching a movie,
maybe a rent.
However, for me to get into a bit more detailed review,
I will have to go into spoiler territory,
so if you’re not satisfied with that, just be forewarned,
and you can stick around till the

rest of the review.
If you’re satisfied so far, this is the end of the review.
Now, onto spoilers.

Overall, I thought most of the cast did a good enough job
except the main character’s mother,
who I personally thought was uninteresting to watch.
t was easier to pick up
who was doing a better job between the phone conversation.
I know the mother was a smoker and drinker
yet how she set out beats, used her character movements,
and her voice just was uninteresting to me.
The other downside was the female cop.
She was introduced late into the story,
but I could tell when she was hamming it up with the ugly face,
especially when she was chained up.
And from that we’ll Segway onto the messed up stuff.
It wasn’t hard for me to tell
that the young male cop was just putting on a show
for the female journalist when he was “fending off bears,”
when we knew it wasn’t bears just from the trailer.
The other character reveals and appearances
were harder to tell when it all came together in the end.
This movie wasn’t boring, scary, or entertaining to watch,
for the most part.
But, speaking of came
– if you’ve seen the trailer
– you know it was about alien human hybrids.
With a needle?
– Involved, but not mostly.
A male.
Yes, there is,
animated, ahem,
alien genitalia in this movie.
Not being a xenophile or anything,
but at times how they animated the “schlong and stones”
was more interesting than what was going on on screen.
Speaking of mostly
– the third act took a huge turn into the uncomfortable territory,
believe it or not – a male alien’s animated “schlong and stones”
was just the tip of the iceberg.
This movie has a faux documentarian
that sometimes appears
to drop some exposition into the story.
So why he came and picked up
and went on a
somewhat non-sensical rant about the hybrids
and basically what was just revealed to us
made me think that he was a hybrid
based on how he was acting towards the main character,
even though he was an obvious stalker.
Like, I’ve already been uncomfortable enough just from the third act
– can I trust the documentarian or not?
Personally, you could’ve removed a few lines from that
or cut to him picking her up,
dropping her by the police
and with what he said
that would’ve tied up the movie just like that.
In the now spoiler filled section of this review
– I didn’t think the movie was bad or good,
not boring, but still not entertaining,
but just due to the mostly overall
stale nature of the film
besides the uncomfortable and somewhat questionable third act,
I don’t recommend this
with a score of a
fifty out a hundred.
Not that stale though,
there was animated male alien junk,
by the way.
