ASUS ROG Strix G16 Unboxing & Quick Review⚡The Perfect Gaming Powerhouse

Friends, if you want to buy a gaming laptop, ROG Strix G16 should be on your list. There are many interesting things here, but for gamers, this laptop is amazing! Think about it, you can play games at 180-200FPS! Crazy good! Let’s open this big box & show you everything. We’ll do its unboxing & first impressions. And I’ll also tell you about some interesting things. And not just gaming laptops, if you’re a content creator & do video editing, this can be one of the better laptops out there. Ok, this is a big laptop! Big one, what else

is there in the box? It’s a big brick & a 280W charger, this is huge! And then you also have this power cable. What else? Documentation? Yes, there’s documentation. What else? No, there’s nothing else. I liked the box, it has nice packaging. Let’s keep the box aside & look at the laptop. It has ROG Intelligent Cooling & ROG Nebula Display. Yes, this is a Nebula Display & there are many things, we’ll talk about them later. But if you look at it from the front, you’ll immediately know that this is an ROG laptop. Yes, you can

see the logo there. And it’s a gaming laptop, so it should have amazing thermals. And the outlet is on the right & left & it’s on the

back as well. This entire thing is a heat sink, so the hot air comes out from here to keep the laptop cool. And I’d like to tell you that the rubber feet are quite thick, so when it rests on the table, there’s a lot of space for air to travel. The build is really good, it’s made of hard plastic & is extremely good quality. And it’s on the heavier

side. If I talk about the weight, it should be close to 2.25KG. It’s 2.37KG, so it’s on the heavier side & that’s expected for a gaming laptop. Ports & Buttons On the right, there are 2 USB Type A ports, nothing on the back. On the left, there’s a power port, RJ45, HDMI port & 2 USB Type C ports. There’s a Thunderbolt port, so you can charge your laptop with it. You don’t need to carry the big adapter. And there’s a 3.5mm jack. This white strip is RGB lights & you get a speaker grill on both

the sides. So that’s the exterior, let’s open it! Unboxing Oh wow! Look at the bezels! Generally, gaming laptops have thick bezels. And surprisingly, despite having such small bezels, you get a 720p webcam on top. Wow! This means you get a 15” laptop screen & a 16” laptop screen. And that’s really great! Design & Features The ROG logo is a little different & has a filter. And then you have all these stickers. The chin is slightly thick & it’s written ROG Strix. The keys are very nice & the travel distance is good. It’s tactile & has

a 2mm travel distance. And the gaming keys are highlighted & remember it’s a RGB keyboard. It’s a backlit keyboard. It’s a glass touchpad & the size is pretty big. And it has a satin finish so you’ll feel good on it. One thing I noticed is that this touchpad isn’t a numpad. Generally, I think in SCAR laptops, they have numpads & this doesn’t have that. It’s not biometric & it doesn’t have the fingerprint sensor for power on & off. But look at those keys! They’re transparent keys! Just look at that! This looks beautiful! I mean, if

you open it & start the machine, you’re going to love this! I love this keyboard! It’s not biometric & it doesn’t have Windows Hello support. Look at that display! It’s a very impressive display! The small version, the middle version, starts at Rs 1.45L. And there’s a variant above it that’s 18 inches. If you want a big screen, you can look at that. That’s the highest variant. This is a 16 inch QHD display. And like I said, it’s a Nebula display. They’ve introduced a lot of new things in this variant this year. For example, it has

a 240Hz fast refresh rate. It’s amazing for gamers! We played GTA, Doom on it. If you play on FHD settings, you can play it at 180FPS. If you play other games, you can go beyond 200FPS as well. The display is 100% sRGB, so it’s good in terms of colour accuracy. It has Dolby Vision support, so that’s there. And it’s a bright display with 500 nits, so you shouldn’t have too many problems outdoors. But once again, I love this display! It’s one of the better displays I’ve seen because of the thin bezels. Specifications It has Intel

Core i9 13th Gen, which is the highest variant. But you also get an i7 variant, all of them are 13th gen. There are different variants for GPUs as well. There’s RTX 4050, 4060, ours is 4060. And the highest variant of 18 inches has RTX 4070. You can play games, but if you do video editing on Premiere Pro or on Windows, you can easily do it & edit videos. It has DDR5 RAM, so that’s good. And it starts from 16GB, but you can extend it to 64GB. So there are extra slots. The PCIe 4.0 storage type

is 1TB. So the read & write speeds are fast, you get 4-4.5Gbps read & write speeds. So a big thumbs up there! In terms of performance, it’s one of the better ones out there. That’s why I said, if you’re looking for a gaming laptop, this should be on the top of your list. And it has HDMI 2.1, so you can play 4K 120FPS on a big screen. We tested the battery life & it’s at length. And you don’t get more than 3 hours of battery life. If you play games & do intensive gaming, it’ll be

less than that. But 3-3.5 hours is the maximum battery time that you’ll get out of this laptop. Thermals are very important for a gaming laptop. They’ve said that the intelligent cooling is a tri-fan design. Meaning, where there’s CPU, GPU, there’s a fan & an auxiliary fan. Not just that, the gaming keys like the ASDF, there’s a fan below that. So you’ll always feel cool. Yes, it’s hot on the top, but the keyboard area is cool there. And yes, liquid metal is used for heat dissipation. Which makes heat dissipation better & thermals better too. But you

know, when the fans start, there’s a lot of noise. But this intelligent cooling is at 0dB, so there’s no noise at all. In fact, you can take it to 60-70% but the fans won’t turn on. If you’re doing something high, very intensive, then you’ll hear the fan but not that much. So this is a silent & cool laptop. And yes, it’s an ROG laptop, so it has an Armoury Crate dashboard. So if you’re a geeky type & want to overclock the CPU, GPU, you can do that with the Armoury Crate. The display is so good,

it’s great for multimedia consumption. Because of Dolby Vision, you get a high dynamic range. It’s absolutely great for movies, Netflix etc. This is probably an ideal laptop. The audio is good too, but if the fan is on for longer periods, then the sound is less. But generally, fans don’t kick in for normal usage & it has a good multimedia output as well. We’ve run some benchmarks on it, in fact I’m showing them on the screen. And they were quite good, it’s definitely a performance laptop. That’s what we can see from the benchmarks. Connectivity, it has

WiFi 6E, so that’s good. It has Bluetooth 5.2 support, which is also very nice. OS UI is Windows 11 Home Edition. There are some extra features in Windows, like Dolby Access, where you get lifetime support for Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos. Interestingly, it’s the same colour, it’s Eclipse Grey, but it has a new colour, it’s Volt Green. I’m not sure how many people will go for that, but it’s a different colour, a fancy colour. To be honest, I really liked this laptop, especially because of the display. Because you interact with the display & in a

small form factor, you get a 16” display which is very colour accurate. So it’s good for multimedia & gaming too, but if you want to do video editing, photo editing, then this laptop is good for that too. So I’ll recommend it even for content creators. The battery life is a little less, but I think it’s a very good gaming laptop. How did you like the video? If you want to buy this laptop, then do check out the link in the description. That’s all for this video, until the next one, Keep Trakin & Stay Safe!
