Green-Colored Watches – Rolex, Omega, Breitling & TAG Heuer Review | SwissWatchExpo

Maybe you’ve heard that green is the new blue 
and that the rage in the watch world is for green  
dials. We’ve got a great collection of them here 
at SwissWatchExpo. In fact, you can just search  
on the search bar on our website where it says 
search 2000 plus watches. You can just put in  
the word green and you’ll see a great collection, 
but we have some gathered here for you to show  
you some alternatives to really high-priced 
green watches that are out there on the market.

We’ve got some great alternatives to some of  
those really high-priced green dial watches you’ve 
seen. Maybe you’ve followed sort of the John Mayer  
green dial Rolex and gold. That is just off the 
chart for most people. But if you’re a serious  
collector, that might be the right one to add to 
your collection. In the meantime, a lot of people  
are just dying for the new edition of the old 2004 
Kermit watch. This is the new one in Cerachrom.  
That is a 41-millimeter case. Beautiful black 
dial green bezel combination with the upgraded  
bracelet and clasp combination that Rolex came 
out with this watch has also seen some huge gains  
recently, and it might be a fantastic investment 
for you, but if you’re looking for this one or  
the Hulk, which is the same kind of idea in a 
40-millimeter Submariner with the green dial green  
bezel combination, but maybe you want

something
that is a little different than the Submariner.
Maybe you want something with not such a big
price tag, but you still like the idea of green
on the dial of your watch. We’ve got
some great alternatives here for you.
One of them is the Tag Carrera Sport, which
is right here, and this is a watch that was
new for 2021. I’m sorry, new for 2020. And it
features the Manufacture-grade Heuer 02 movement.
It’s an 80-hour power reserve and it’s a, a
pretty big watch at 44-millimeter. But unlike
a lot of the previous Carreras that have really
long straight lugs, they’ve sort of made these a
little bit stubbier so that it fits better on the
wrist. I don’t have real big wrists, but you can
see it’s right at home on my wrist. The color of
the dial is really beautiful. It’s sort of a drab
olive green, but really bright Super
Luminova-filled lume in the markers and
the hands. It tells you right there at the bottom
of the dial that it’s an 80-hour power reserve and
a Manufacture movement. It does have the date
display, but a really nice bezel configuration
where it’s sort of flat and brushed. And then the
crystal itself is slightly domed and then beveled
on the edge. So, it just really all works together
very, very well has the exhibition caseback. So
you can see the Côtes de Genève on the movement,
you know, not to take anything away from TAG
Heuer, but they’re not really up until now really
been known for their in-house manufacture-grade
movements. But this one really has checked all the
boxes and it’s a great value. And especially when
you’re looking at these green dial watches,
this one really could be the one to go with.
We have down here in the much brighter
green category, this is an Omega Seamaster,
a 39-and-a-half millimeter case. So this
one really fits a lot closer on the wrist
and it has this sporting perforated leather strap
that has these sort of micro perforations. They’re
not the real big ones you saw in the ’60s racing
editions, but it’s a really interesting watch. The
dial has a black center with the word Seamaster in
green and the second hand in green, just to give
you those green accents. But the real interesting
is on the back, it has an aluminum disc that has
the names of all of the Olympic games where Omega
has been the official timekeeper from LA in 20.
What year was that? 1932 LA to 2028. I guess
they’ve already inked the deal on that one,
but it is water-resistant to 60 meters, 200 feet.
So you can really enjoy it and wear
it as an everyday watch and not be too
worried about it. There were only 2032 of
these made it is the 8800 caliber Master
Chronometer movement. So it’s been tested on
things that involve the way you would wear it
in real life. So, that one’s a great pick,
especially if you like a little bit slimmer
watch. The way it fits closer on the rest
than the rest of these is a nice touch. Then
we have the Breitling Top Time is a really great
alternative. It has the look of a vintage watch.
The original Top Time came out in 1964. And at
that time there was a lot of push to make things
that are fresh and new and young and fun for
the baby boomers that were really coming of age.
at the time. In that year, the Ford Mustang came
out. It became the biggest-selling American sports
car ever. And it’s still the number one restored
vintage car. Still going strong in 2022, but this
one celebrates the Mustang. One of the signature
colors of the Mustang was this kind of dark green.
And you’ll see the galloping horse logo right
under the word Breitling that’s the Mustang
logo. The tachymeter scale on this one’s really
interesting the way it’s got some extra colors
there, sort of a domed crystal like the vintage
watches. And in 1964, when this one came out, it
was considered a young and fun, spirited watch. It
was featured in the James Bond movies, and really
gave a lot of credibility to the Top Tome. On
the caseback, you see the galloping horse again.
And when you put this on, I mean, you kind of
get that feel of the swinging youth of the time.
And it definitely was not the same feel as their
grandfather’s watches. They wanted something fresh
and new and young looking and didn’t have the same
look as the 32, 33-millimeter dressy watches that
their parents and grandparents had worn. Now
that one’s a really pretty dial. Great color
of the green sort of a metallic and then with
the black sub-dials. So, then we’re moving to
the next edition from Breitling. This one is a
Bentley 42, and it’s a very subtle green when
you look at this one. So if you want your
green kind of not so bold, you’re not on
the Omega camp of the bright green, this one’s a
subtle green. And of course, it celebrates that
partnership between Breitling and Bentley
that’s been around for a long time.
It does have the exhibition caseback
and it is the Premier B 01 movement.
So it’s a manufacturer in-house movement
from Breitling. And then let’s see,
I think that’s what, we’ve covered. them all. One
of the things that you could always do with any
of the watches from SwissWatchExpo that are able
to take a leather strap is that you could always
have fun with the straps and put a green strap on
your watch. Even if it doesn’t have a green dial.
Something kind of like this NATO one I’ve got
on works great with a silver dial or black.
