Moto Morini X-Cape 650 REVIEW: A very dangerous competitor! – Onroad.bike

moto mourinho’s new model for 2022 is
the xscape 650 which is a touring enduro
and really looking great but what is
much more important what kind of bike
and how bike it became
i think moto mourinho brand doesn’t need
any kind of uh speaking about because
it’s a very long history
uh italian brand with very good sounding
uh the zhong sang
or or zhong nang uh which is a chinese
brand uh it’s much more needs
knowledge about who they are uh
although they are very
old and very big
chinese motorbike manufacturer mainly in
the lower uh are lower lower cubic
centimeter class
um
and they are the owners of the moto
mourinho nowadays and
they’re
working together as era’s first
motorbike is this new xscape 650 which
is absolutely produced in china
we have to start with the outlook of the
escape which is extremely good with the
sharp lines the high lifted whole front
part the narrow
lamps the whole face of the bike is
really extremely nice and aggressive but
the whole construction must be the way
uh on a way good which makes the

owner
happy later so the outlook is only one
thing but not enough
we have a
normal tubular frame from iron uh within
within uh the two cylinder 650 cubic
centimeter engine is sitting and we have
uh
an aluminum subframe in the rear and the
whole suspension is we can say
normal suspension with two upside down
telescopic forks in the front and a
central suspension unit in the rear
although the seat height of the x cape
is not too low because the with the
basic seat this is it
it’s it’s 845 millimeters you can buy a
lowered seat for it than it is 820 only
but uh the that’s why i’m showing it to
you that the whole
seat is formed a very very good way
because first of all here it is pretty
narrow and from the other point it is
lower down in the middle that way that
you are really sitting inside the motor
bike not on it like in a case of the
most of the enduro bikes but you are
sitting in it as in a good very good
touring bike and it makes the whole
handling really nice
and of course the upper body position is
extremely comfortable with the
wide handlebar
guys who are or girls who are taller
than
me
or like me we are having a pretty sharp
knee angle but yesterday i was riding
nearly 500 kilometers with the escape
and after all i have to say that it’s
totally comfortable

to edges the windscreen is a very easy
thing and you do not need any tools for
it
you simply
open the fixer with your hand and then
you can push down the windscreen on a
pretty big area approximately 10
centimeters or lift it up of course
because of my height i was using it in
the upper position
and the wind protection in the real life
is absolutely proper in this highest
position for me i’m 190 centimeters tall
and there is really no wind noise at all
although at high speeds at the at the
top speed of the bike at 175 kilometers
per hour not even there i couldn’t have
any
any wind noise of course when i pull out
myself a little bit more or lift up my
head

with 10 centimeters then the noise
becomes then the noise really became
extremely high and when i pull
down my neck a little bit approximately
here where i still can see above
the wind screen then it’s totally silent
so not even that amount of noise with
then with the normal seating position so
all in all uh especially related to the
very very simple forming and everything
else of this windscreen the the result
of it the wind protection of the bike is
really proper the 650 cubic centimeter
parallel twin engine
is designed and produced by cf moto
which is the greatest tradition uh
chinese company on this
segment and this is really good
construction we have to say as the
working system of it is really feeling
like a one cylinder engine but in the
good meaning which means that uh
it’s uh not uh doesn’t have too much
vibration
but it has a nice vibration so you
really feel well uh on the bike of
course when
it’s really not a strong one even in the
euro 5
era we cannot say that this is a strong
bike with its 60 brake horsepower
and
all in all
then you have to overtake or accelerate
it’s really working nice or on lower
rpms as well but uh
when you have to overtake then don’t try
it on really
low rpms because then
especially when you are in higher gears
it’s not accelerating really nice so for
example if i try it from fourth or fifth
gear from this city speed and overtaking
then we have to say that
this acceleration wouldn’t be enough you
have to
gear down
and if nobody’s coming to the front
then on a higher rpm
you can really dynamically accelerate
with the bike
the company didn’t save any money on the
suspension in the front we can find two
marzocchi upside down telescopic forks
which have an extremely wide uh
construction 50 millimeter so it’s
really a thick thing and although the
the travel is not too high it’s only a
little bit more than 12 centimeters but
you can absolutely
set it on your needs on the in the right
uh telescopic fork you can change the
rebound and in the left the compression
so all in all you can set it up
absolutely as you need yesterday i was
riding over 500 kilometers on very bad
quality mainly very bad quality hungary
and roads and i have to say that this is
an
this is a proper part of the bike really
i don’t know why maybe because of the
construction and the long long trail
the
when you are braking in a corner you can
use the front brake very very uh easily
because the bike is not standing up at
all and it’s running on a normal line
without any interruption even on the
poorest quality roads in the rear
section we can find the kaiaba central
suspension unit you can also also change
the preload but only with the tool and
it maybe gets a little uh black dot
because this bike would really
be worse to have a small wheel to change
the
preload in the rear section as well and
you can also change uh the damping with
the screw the brake system is a real
mixture between china and europe because
the brake discs all the three of them
are produced so the steel disks are
produced in china but the
calipers are coming from brembo and the
abs system is coming from bosch and as
they really didn’t save too much money
on these important parts of the bike
it is the bike is coming from the
factory on pirelli tires so as the
result of this whole combination the
braking is really a good thing it has an
efficient braking and because of the
good progressive marzoki telescopic
forks uh it’s really a good feeling to
break with it so the front part is not
uh
falling down when you are starting hard
braking
the abs system although i found some
materials where it is writing that it
can be switched off but
here in europe it’s sure that it cannot
be switched off the dashboard is a
beautiful 7-inch
tft
which is really informative
of course it could be more informative
but i think this is absolutely enough
for riding a motorbike we have a pretty
huge
rpm counter i just start the engine for
a moment that you shall see them
how is it working
uh we also we always can see the current
speed uh time and a lot of other data
and then for example when the
fuel amount is going to the res then it
is showing uh the left distance uh until
we run out of fuel which is a really
important and good thing
um
and uh we can
go into the menu of the bike pretty
easily which we can find a lot of
information about the motorbike for
example the tire pressures which is an
important and safe thing uh the
exact temperature of the cooling water
the battery and a lot of other things
and
also we can from here this setting menu
we can connect to our mobile phone
change the display and all the other
things we don’t speak about them too
much
when we already connected our mobile
phone then we can go to the phone menu
which means that i can receive calls
on the phone even if it is in my pocket
for example and we can also go to the
music
of our mobile phone so if we have music
saved on the phone then we can listen to
them in the helmet as well and i show
you one more thing that uh
you can change the
first you think that you can change the
riding mode so you can go to an off-road
mode which means that uh the dashboard
is changing nothing else in the bike so
it’s not a real riding mode this is only
this is only the
dashboard which is changing when you are
off where you when you are in off-road
mode

of course the lighting system of the
bike is full led
and as you can see we have
normal lighting and the high beam
but we also have
drl
but
here you can find a little bit saving of
money because
it doesn’t change automatically although
the dashboard is watching uh
how much light is outside but the lights
are not changing from it you have to
change them from
the right handlebar by yourself
so we knew a lot of things about the new
moto mourinho 650 but
at the end of the review we have to
close with the most important thing the
price of the bike i think all around the
world it’s uh the lowest available
touring enduro in its class
uh it’s approximately on the same price
here in hungary than the
suzuki vistrom 650 xt version so also
with the spoken wheeled version
and the whole package uh the suspension
the ride ability and the whole everyday
usability is absolutely uh on a level
which with which it can really fight
with any of its rivals on the market
and with the price it really has a
strong weapon
so uh usually i say after review uh
making a test about the motorbike that
if i would accept it for an everyday use
or not i think this bike i would even
