NASCAR Cup: AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 | EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS | 9/25/22 | Motorsports on NBC

Keselowski and Logano couple floors. The blue oval’s making up row. Number one as we get ready to kick off the round of 12. From Texas Motor Speedway on this sweltering. Hot fall day up through the gears. They go Keselowski Logano. We’re underway racing in Texas. Still side by side of front Pagano really wide here but Brad Keselowski trying to get away from the side draft. Now he’s going to try to go back up there, slow the 22 down. Remember this is the first time these cars have been on the racetrack in traffic. It was a

race. Yesterday the conditions are completely different than it was the last time and they’re given to are thinking off of them by the cars around them the front three broke away here. William Byron. Trying to decide who the hell has to back off a little bit for some clean air. Brad Keselowski takes the lead off into turn one. You can see car. He just stared. He is scared. We don’t see visually the car get loose, but he is scared to turn left. The back ends, trying to come around and never really can’t turn the wheels.

So he just drives the car up the track and he’s all Throttle. That’s why you see the slow lap time. Cars moving around a

lot car. Just steps around. On him. There’s a bump right over the tunnel there. Jeff and three and four. It looked like carcass to hop in a little bit. So clearly he was you know we heard Brad Keselowski say I’m building loose the longer here and the looser he got. He’d have to wonder if that’s not what was happening with Truex. So he stays in the gas, trying to keep from making

contact with the wall just brushes. It 61 laps to go in stage 1. Logano on the outside William Byron on the inside. They stay door-to-door through one and two. Logano almost cleared Logano, who didn’t quite do it with environment to say, we have on the bottom still trying to make that work. God, I’m trying to stay in the gas. I got the goggles car bottoming out to those books. So wait for the tire pressure to build up so maybe just a little bit more even though there’s a low profile tires. Yeah. That’s going to help

a little bit and just Pace. I mean, they’re right there, they’re probably wide open on brand new tires with clean air. That’s the move right there. Steve, when the 24 is clear, his spotters going to let him know that information. He’s a drive up the racetrack, get in front of the other car. So he could take away that downforce. We’re going to see that time. And time again, the 18 of Kyle Busch has into the wall. It was the blood of Let It Go. To avoid it but Kyle Busch running fourth. Gets into the wall

coming out of turn four. Field right. I can’t see those. I mean left rear yeah it’s tires down but I don’t know what I got into the tire or not. Can’t tell. He’s got his window net down already sideways right there. Really, really hard impact into the wall with the left rear and you see everybody coming off the 12 of Blaney. My goodness, he hopes that thing stays kind of in the middle. One thing we noticed that the car was left rear tire. Flat, don’t know if that happened before during the spin but 51 until

we get to the end of stage. One Christopher Bell making it three wide into one Arabic in the middle. C Bell. Made it work. That’s something you’re going to see more and more of Jeff because I believe restarts are a rare opportunity to pass a car. So everybody’s starting to understand how difficult it is to get around each other and taking advantage of that opportunity on restarts putting guys. In bad situations going three wide. We saw yesterday in the Xfinity race. A lot this indicate. Well sure. Try to get by C Bell now. All went

sliding across the grass. The 47. Ricky Stenhouse jr. Brings the caution More. Okay, here we go. All right we’re all good here. That was through the quad oval here in Texas. It’s right here. Three wide To some contact with Ty Dillon. Right there, Ty comes up the racetrack. 47 comes down the racetrack. I’d say that we’re fortunate. There weren’t more cars involved in that wreck. Everyone going through the pictures thing. The same thing as you Donna with a really good launch right here. Knows ahead, William Barn. So much for that. William bar, and taking control,

comes the 11 of Denny, Hamlin, now challenging for that second spot, right up against the left. Rear quarter panel of Logano that side drafting, will it work for him through three and four. God is going to try to hang on its outside if he can not able to do it now the five the Larson down there will be inside not able to pull alongside the 22 of Logano. They’re looking to make a little better change its next stop. See Larson’s they would run that bottom but this is where it gets really tough to make this

past Parsons got to try to find a way to carry more speed into one on the bottom, see that little side draft right in the middle of the front straightaway. Now he drives up and takes the line away. Horses, 222 to have to come out travel just a little bit there and the 20 slow on the track a flat right rear tire on the 20. I don’t see any damage. Bring it to me now, 41. And I was also around. This is pretty late though, contact with the right front on the 41, guys. See what

happened to the 41, guys. I’m really curious as to how this car crashes into the wall, but off into turn one flat right front tire. There’s a tire failure. Into the corner and I believe that yellow was out. Because when he went by the yellow light into turn one, I thought I saw a Flash and Junior. Yeah, I thought I thought you was flashing as well. And this was because of the caution or I think it’s possible. This one. Hey, it’s possible that maybe there’s some debris from the 20 car that he may run over.

We won’t speculate that both tires just failed because of low air or what have you but that’s far through a caution. Well to your point shooter they were both going into. Turn one right Jeff. So the 20 gets a flat going into one for whatever reason. Then under yellow, the 41’s tire goes down. So it could absolutely be a piece of debris down there. They’ll hear you, we’ll see how Denny Hamlin does on the outside of Water gets William Byron. Look at that one car down there. Making it three. Why don’t Chase Elliott? But God

only outside. How’s this going? To work out. Chest pain, being aggressive, hero restarts. But you can have to do still not sorted out down here into turn three. Logano stays in the gas as does the 9 of Chase Elliott and the one of Ross Chastain can’t complete the pass. I don’t think he makes the pass down here. Let cars just a little bit too quick. Yeah a lot of moving around right there. Right now he really had to catch that looks like or out of the gas. He was way out of the groove, had to

get out of the gas Denny, Hamlin passes him and that momentum that the 24 had Top now he’s falling all the way back to Third. And Under Fire for that position, Here Comes Larson. Looking for third Look at this egg far back trying to fight for the lead. He’s got great momentum. He’s gonna be out of cleared. Any going to slide up in front of him. Did he die? Wanting let him do it, huh? Oh, did he says not so fast there gift and I’m like this 5 car. Yeah so much momentum lost by the

aid. Here Comes Kyle Larson. Larson. Go to the top. I think Danny was actually probably going to go to the bottom there. It’s where he’s been running since it Danny into the corner so fast he’s really For the throttle, run the mill, the racetrack, it’s going to give up the lead, what a series of events right there. Five car knife through there from third to First? All the 48 cars, crashing into the wall bowling alley, and you see the right side damage for Bowman’s card is comes around very fast. You have to imagine There had

been a tire issue. Is the right rear tires down right there. Larson, Hamlin making up, bro. One fighting for potentially a staged win. But more importantly, stage points, three wide here could be for wide in the back of the 24. Moves him up the racetrack Chastain moving to the inside. Getting aggressive once again. Logano running in that third spot but still for the lead Larson, surging ahead. Now, Larson taking the lead away from Hamlin for a side-by-side, with his teammate back there for fourth Rick. One more time around more stage one. Once again, here comes

the 11 as he fights. There’s contact me, Hamlin into the back of the head by the five still straight. This is how important a stage win is Larson out of for Larson’s going to win stage 1. Little contact right here Denny’s like I did appreciate it. Just letting you know. You just came on the radio, junior said, tell him. I’m not lifting on the next one. Again, some different faces and names up front here as it’s three wide Harrison burned in the 21 falling back. Just a bit. For the lead upfront. Stenhouse jr. And Michael

Mcdowell. Tyler Reddick already of my own that high line of the for all those guys big moments right there rig before car way up the racetrack, Michael got really sideways. It’s becoming a common theme in turn for it seems like today and he is controlling the race, you know, being able to between the dirty air and using that mirror, she just talks about is able to hold these guys off. We had a big issue right there. Almost. Hit the wall off the term for has it lift off the throttle Lost momentum is going to get

the lead Harrisonburg and now the 9 of Chase Elliott, Dives to the bottom of the Race Track Trail. Yeah. Just mention a flat tire in the right rear down. For Christopher Bell. We backed it in 30 green flag, laps bump. Doesn’t that look like a bump to you? Not a right rear tire issue? No, I couldn’t swim like to get another shot at. See that again. We can see the right rear. And good fire right there on the 21 on Pit Road, right where they put fuel in. Wheel, not on that left rear but the

fire they had to move out of the way or not. Press the restart here. A lot of guys make it three wide. Jeff stayed on the outside, Elliot on the inside. Elliot half a car length lead. And now the momentum coming back for Ross, Chastain on the outside my knee. At Truax little contact down the back straightaway side-by-side ladies, clear them. Now, Elliott has cleared Ross Chastain as well. And so more issues. This time, it’s Cody where the 51 look out on Pit Road. And that is a very difficult situation as Cody where was not

able to control that car? Cody we’re on his way to the infield. Care Center want to take a look at what happened in turn four. See sideways back of the car around like he’s spinning out right here in this shot and then Don’t know why you sideways. Having mechanical issue tired out. Don’t know and then got turn to the right and head on into the wall 33. Laps to go in stage 2, but higher run their 43 of Erik Jones running in the third spot, a little side dry I think for the lead, Here Comes

Chase Elliott, trying to make the pass on Ryan Blaney. Take it, take it. Oh, and into the wall of 9 of Chase, Elliott for Chase, Elliott into the wall. You see the fire coming out the right side and he comes right back in front of the fire. Now, right side here. This thing heavily damaged, he came over the radio talking about a right rear tire issue. To see climbs out of the race car but the fire still burning on that right side. Leading the race. Chase Elliott into the wall out of turn four. Looks like

something broke. I mean, he had a moment where he got a little loose or either something on the car failed like a right rear tire or something, but just a wiggle. Right there, you great update by Chase. We were looking for a tire to be flat if he heard it coming apart that I have no doubt. Perhaps it’s something on the tread something we can’t see. As we see tracks, go three wide on the 34th McDowell, continue to push forward and then you saw the car. Stop with all the fire that was all just a

result from the wreck. Big heavy impact, obviously big damage in the right. But glad to see Chase. Okay, Suarez fighting for the lead now with Ryan Blaney upfront, Blaney down at the bottom of the race track and track house racing trying to flex their muscles. Here is there in the top five tests and getting to push down the front straightaway. Think what you Byron’s a little frustrated with this one car. Fire through one and two is Ross. Chastain. Will that momentum carry him past the 99? He looks to the inside of Suarez. Yeah, I don’t

think Byron was attending to help but it certainly gave him this opportunity to make the pass on his teammate. 17 cars around Chris buescher, this time of departure comes out, that’s the upper tail and a lot of bumping and banging no giving any more everybody’s taking gets loose right here on the outside of the 22 car. Spins off a term for now. Into the grass. A lot of contact back there guys checking up the back, half of the field here. Tyler Reddick. A to get way out of the gas. Use fallen way back as the

12 Blaney surges ahead Byron running. Second that it’s the one of Ross Chastain. Look at this here. Yep. I don’t you the tempers we’re gonna flare. Firing has had enough of this one car. He’s trying to side draft a little bit. Gonna fight him hard on the outside here. Rick Byron. Maybe tired of everyone taking positions away from him. Like, we saw it Ryan, Blaney, the All-Star Race. He got very frustrated through three and four for the final time here in stage 2, it will be the fifth stage win at Texas, which is tied for

the most for Ryan. Blaney coming to a good track for him. Chastain can fire it practice. Lastly, Suarez, the top five and this is crazy because the what we just saw party standing on Pit Road and the Sun was shining on him. We see a little bit of rain here but it’s raining pretty hard around this racetrack. You see a rainbow off in the background, they’re going to bring the cars onto Pit Road. They did right now. It’s safer to have them on Pit Road, and that’s a beautiful sound as the interests of fired back

up again. 114 laps to go. The 34? How’s it going to do? Doesn’t look like he misses a beat yet. Wow. However, Michael Mcdowell decided to work through those gears with fourth gear. Missing very impressive on the 34, the car only entry of the core contact Jones into the walls Jonah’s up sandal that he feels like the he got ran into the wall right there, he’s gonna get door-to-door now for the lead Tyler Redick coming off at to. He takes the spot looks like another right rear tire goes down. You see the smoke out, the

back of the car. Hard contact with the right rear comes back around swings into the right front. William Byron giving the for a little shove as they go into. Turn number one, but he’s not able to clear. Martin Truex, Junior. Now he does Harvick’s going to slide up and he has the lead in Texas into the wall before blue and heading into turn three, when a tire goes, and that’s the worst because that’s fast as part. Entry to the corner Truex. Get a nice push here from Austin. Dillon is going to help clear that 19

Car Alston has to get get out of the gas to allow some clean air to get out of that car. I wonder if Truex is managing the Gap. You know. Maybe it’s trying to think, where do I load this right? Rear tire. And maybe I should try to tell a contact. Yeah, almost into the wall for Byron and now we see Austin Dillon go to the high side three. Why didn’t the three race leader? Martin Truex, Junior has just wrecked. He got into the wall. A right-side tire went down there he goes into turn three.

You see it? That seems to be a consistent. Number 34 35. Right in that lap count. Looks like there’s some contact. Oh, the we were 24 to Byron. Remember what happened off of turn? Two? Byron felt like maybe that 11 ran him into the fence off of turn two Byron, takes that opportunity to possibly retaliate because I don’t want to. I don’t even want to think about what Nascar might have done. Had he spun the 24 under caution here? In an obvious retaliation. Fanning out two and three wide as they continue to fight for position

Redick, Dives, all the way to the bottom of the racetrack, trying to get by in the 14 of Brisco. For that third spot, Todd Gillen, done a nice job battling on the outside, that that lad. Redick State, very low off. Turn two now. Door to door. Is it going to three? And I’m right. It’s going to take this crap when I just kind of shook that 47 driver there thunder. It goes around coming off at to the left rear. For the left front tire is down back. Going, be ready? Yeah, we kind of caught it

goes straight to it as he was spinning at that. Just came around on him. It’s indrek, my goodness. What a move. I mean I, you know, obviously It’s pretty sharp. Sharp driver right there. Good wreck avoidance for this to car. Briscoe up the racetrack, pushing the 22 a little bit higher. Behind them are spending it. Turn to up against the wall. Aric almirola caution comes out, the 16th caution of the night, gotta get defensive here. Three wide is definitely going to be wearing guys want to go look at that. 38 up the racetrack trouble for

Gilliland. Still hanging on that right rear quarter panel. look how aggressive we are down the back, straightaway the blocking Trying to stop guys from creating opportunities to make runs grunts. Oh man. A big Wiggle from calarts and large to the dad of the Wally. Does Brad Keselowski will take the spot one lap to go presented by Credit. One Bank needs one and a half more miles out of that, set at Goodyear Tires. The engine under the hood of this ain’t car 500-mile challenge and it’s been an absolute challenge today into the Nitric and until he

gets all the way out of turn four. For nothing is guaranteed, even with the 1.1 second lead. He goes to the bottom of the racetrack. Through three and four for the final time and looking for career, win number three, it’s going to come and texas-style. Erratic winds in the Lone Star State.
