Nope, il significato del titolo: Daniel Kaluuya e Keke Palmer ci danno la loro interpretazione!

hi i’m gabriel daniela from bad taste.it and first question is for you both when you first received the screenplay for nope what were your thoughts when you ended reading and how many questions did you had to ask jordan peele i had a lot of questions i had a lot of questions um but it’s all just part of the process part of the development and kind of going oh let me understand this let me understand this and also like under like getting into the character as well and get into the mindset of how you’re gonna play

just asking questions about where’s this come from what’s this and a lot of it was to do the relationship between oj and emerald and the backstory of that you know that that was one thing that i knew that was like a through line that would be really important within it you know and also just what’s happening around and and those questions informed us on well me on set because uh you don’t see anything like when we’re actually on set we haven’t got green screen we’ve got anything we have to like so we have to really

know our characters and know the situation in order for us to translate that when you haven’t you’re not seeing you’re just looking at skype

you know and what’s your first impression i mean was it the screenplay exactly how the film played out or things changed throughout the process things changed throughout the process i mean essentially the movie is is the same or the themes and then particular um you know key moments that happened but there there were some some like changes that that happened throughout even two characters i mean your your characters were the same

as on page or you got to develop it in different directions no the characters were the same um as far as what i know the characters were the same but the arrangement of events you know what i mean the final moments those things um you know changed okay so what is the nope of the theater or the title is it an actual note that gets pronounced throughout the film or is it a more symbolic no okay uh you know the note is like how i my interpretation is just it’s just like it’s quite hard it’s

like well the thing with with jordan is that it’s really artistic every choice that he makes so it’s meant to be up for interpretation so both of our perspectives are 100 right that’s what it is with jordan so i will say that for me nope is responsorial it is to me the note to what we’re running from in the movie which i think is metaphorically the things that we shouldn’t give attention to that we keep watching that we’re feeding and you know we are exploiting or we don’t even realize our we you know our obsession

with the tension and how it takes us outside of ourselves i think that is is the note is sometimes you got to just say no you know what i mean that’s how i feel about it but it’s it’s it has so many meanings so what is your interpretation my my attention of the note is when you are in a situation and you’re learning you’re like you’re like no but you you still have to go forward you know i mean and you still you still what they say is um courage is fear walking forward i mean

it’s definitely encouraging bravery i mean so i think like in this film you see a lot of courage from o.j and emerald which is if i understand it is the no we can say this because it’s in the trailer the know that your characters pronounces when he’s in the cards he’s something outside and says no if i if i’m getting right your answer yeah that’s that that is that is that like um he’s seen an alien and there are two real plot two layers in this movie one is the great adventure and runs and horses

and whatever and the other one is we can say about tamed animals and it’s really important in this movie this this idea of tamed animals how do you think these two ideas communicate and for creating this movie exploitation tamed the word is tamed yeah i mean i remember one time i was when i was in prep for this i went to a ranch and then like that there was this horse and then something happened and i was like oh my god i’ve never seen a horse have a motion i mean i’ve never seen that and

this horse wasn’t hadn’t been broken his spirit hadn’t been broken you know and so he though he was able to just express himself in whatever way he wanted to and i feel like this kind of explores that like how much we tame ourselves how much we tame others and for money you know it’s like and and like for fame for attention for to be a spectacle you know and how damaging that can be thank you very much
