One Step From Eden Accessibility Review

well I noticed the game has roguelike
mechanics similar to slightest fire I
have to give it a try and that’s exactly
what I did with one step for meaning
let’s see how close we can get to Eton
and find out the level accessibility for
low mobility users
everyone I’ll be doing well on being
safe I’m when I’m mostly here with Mike
his ability review but one step from
evening the game combines deck-building
ik index latest fire will mix in combat
so I’m gonna make a Man Battle Network
to be honest I’d never heard that came
before this comparison is spot-on
for this review I played on PC a screen
shake turned off one step for meeting
offers Marvel controls for mouse and
keyboard changing the key mines is very
easy and smooth it also offers their
ability to remap these KP and all the
menu inputs which is a great life saver
for menu navigation that’s a low
mobility user you can also use the mouse
to navigate all the menus if you so
choose one step from even offers
multiple game modes single player local
co-op and PvP I only tried single-player
like I totally see how co-op

can make
all the gameplay be more accessible in
single-player there over 8 characters
play and unlock as you progress
unfortunately to unlock characters you
to defeat them at the end of the runs
what you can see as being difficult
because they all made it as far as level
2 the combat and one step per minute is
performed on a 4 by 8 grid without being
your side and the other half being the
enemies as comedy is conducted you gain
mana to play cards you get two actions
lots that those cards are drawn to and
you can rueful at any time especially
you have cards you don’t have the mana
for in addition each character has their
own auto tech ability that cost no mana
to use in between cards as the person
who plays games one-handed one step from
Eden can be quite difficult to play at a
high level I don’t have trouble using or
landing my attacks where I had trouble
with the dodging the speed of come at
the enemies move that can be really
frustrating because there’s so many
things could be trying to process it to
try to see where your attack will and
how much mana do you have and what cards
are coming next
all while dodging bullet hell follows to
offer feedback to help improve
accessibility for low mobility users in
one step from Eden it would be concepts
that affect tomat and progression for
combat and implementing a slower game
mode or a slider to help reduce speed
from pretty percent to one percent this
would definitely help with a player’s
ability to dodge and land attacks that
way the game can accommodate more play
styles
another thing I would implement would be
to change the way all the characters are
unlocked at the start you begin with one
character in order to unlock more you
must defeat them at the end of each run
I’d like to see a setting that either
unlocks them all at the beginning or as
your account levels up you unlock
different characters along the way
in the end I love the concept of one
step from Eden but unfortunately the
speed of combat and being blocked from
locking new characters makes the game
difficult for mobility users the good
news is there seems to be a good modding
community already around the game that
might help fill in from the gaps and
accessibility thanks for watching hope
this video give the information you need
to decide whether pick this game up if
you want to catch me live talking about
a disability actually most weekends at
twitch.tv backslash one hand mostly all
the links are below in the description
so until next time keep leveling up
