SHANREN MILES-BEAT 20-SPEED/CADENCE SENSOR | Cycling Bike Computer Tutorial Review Malaysia [ENGSUB]

Hi everyone, in this video I will do an unboxing, setup, test ride, upload to strava & review all these products from Shanren Tech.
Shanren Miles cycling computer, Shanren Beat 20 Heart Rate Monitor, Shanren Speed/Cadence sensor & Click 2 central mount.
This video is very long so I have divided it into parts/chapter/timestamps, so that you can skip or jump to a video.

Here are both speed & cadence sensor which looks similar. Specifications display at the back.
Left is cadence sensor, support Bluetooth 5.0 & ANT+ same as speed sensor on the right. 460 hours battery for cadence sensor.
250 hours battery for speed sensor only. Both are waterproof with the same type of battery CR2032 & weight at 10g each.
Green LED indicator for speed sensor & Red LED for cadence sensor. Inside the box, both has the same items.
User manual, rubber bands – at crankarm for cadence & at hub for speed sensor

& the sensors themselves which are the same.
Sharen wording at the front, square design. At the back, cadence & speed sensor naming, battery type & made in China.
Need to open the battery to remove the plastic. So, twist to unlock & remove the plastic. There is spring inside then lock it back.
Here we can see the Red LED indicator for cadence sensor & greed LED for speed sensor.
User manual is simple with complete instructions. The specifications, LED indicator, how to pair with bike computer.
At the back, how to install the sensors, app download, how to connect the sensors, we can also pair with other equipment that use Bluetooth or ANT+ & warranty card.
Next we have the heart rate monitor, named Beat 20. Features are heart-rhythm graph based on ECG sensor, vibration alert, built in memory & dynamic heart rate.
The best feature is waterproof for swimming. At the back the features, data storage, data analysis, waterproof, step counter & speed.
Below are the specifications. Product name, can connect via ANT+ & Bluetooth, rechargeable battery with 280 hours working time.
Waterproof IP68 with weight 20g. These are the items in the box. Good quality stretchable chest strap. Magnetic micro USB,
The heart rate monitor itself. Slim & nice design. Not feeling the weight. At the back, electrodes & charging pin.
Magnetic charging so it is easy to attach & when charging, Red LED indicator showing here.
User manual is detail with good instructions. Items we get, how to charge, LED indicator status, how to connect to app,
How to use, need to wet the contact patches then place at chest. How to pair with app, other devices connection that support Bluetooth/ANT+.
Tips for Erratic heart rate data, how to connect to bike comp, maintenance, applicable sports such as swimming at 30m water resistant.
Shanren sport app, share activity, personal heart rate zones, 100 training sessions, download & review data, vibration alert,
Heart rate training, resting HR, ECG but to be use as non-diagnostic application. Can be use for 24 hour tracking.

Here is the Click 2 central mount & the great feature is that it can be mount both side of the handlebar – right or left side.
By default, it will be on the right side, we can change to the left side, need to unscrew the mount slot & put it on the other side.
Nice design with metallic & matte black color. Looks aerodynamic as well.
Here is the Shanren Miles cycling computer. It has power estimation, control smart tail light & customize display.

Power data, power estimation. If you have power meter, it can be pair. Without it, Miles will display the power estimation only.
Customize display & others you may read it. It also support transferring data via USB cable but we can use the app easy.
At the side, the specifications. Support Bluetooth/Ant+, positioning system with GPS, Glonass, BDS & QZSS.
Data transfer, 25 hours working time only, waterproof IPX7 & weight is 65g.
Here all the items inside the box. Micro USB cable, rubber base, mounting & rubber band. Usually we mount at handlebar or stem.

How to transfer data via computer but usually we will use the app directly. Data analysis, strava sync, customize display,
Supported sensors – power meter, tail light, speed, cadence & HRM. How to pair sensor using ANT+ or Bluetooth,
Parameter settings in app, wheel circumference, speed, weight, temperature, bike type, GPS setting,
Buzzer, time zone, FTP, clock setting & here is a complete table of wheel size with folding bike, MTB, road bike.
How to install Miles example at handlebar or stem, we will use the mount. Device specifications & warranty card.
Here is Shanren Miles. Miles wording at the top, Shanren wording at the side, 3 buttons at below – Start, Onn, Setting.
At the back, mounting placement – Garmin type/support mount. Model name, made in China & serial number.
And here it the charging port with good & thick rubber. So, looks solid waterproof if rain. Nothing at the top.
If we compare with Xoss G+, size is almost similar. If with Magene C406, big different in size & heavier.
To on, press & hold center button for 2 sec. Backlight auto enable. Manually can be set by pressing the right button.
This is page/screen 1 default setting. GPS is still searching because we at indoor. Clock, temperature, battery status at top.
At column 1, we have moving time, road symbol. At column 2, total trip distance. Column 3, cadence RPM,
Column 4, heart rate BPM, below column 5 is the speed & lap count. Next page, click the right button.
This is page/screen 2. At column 1, gradient/slope. Column 2, elevation in meter. Column 3, power.
Column 4, NP power. Below column 5, still the same speed & lap count. Last page 3,
Main difference only at the center column, Left-Right balance power, if we have power meter connected.
Go back to page 1, to start record, press & hold left button for 2 sec. Same as to stop. Auto-pause feature.
Another function of the left button is to switch between current, average & max values/data.
Here showing the current values, press the left button to switch to average value & press again for maximum value.
Lap count can be set by pressing the center button. Now we want to connect to all sensors.
You can connect devices directly to the bike computer or using the Shanren Sport app.
Press & hold left right button together for 2 sec to enter pairing mode. Showing Sensor 01 but display quite weird because of the column.
Sensor 01 is for speed sensor. Press right button for next sensor type. Sensor 01 for cadence sensor.
Press again, Sensor 03 for Speed+Cadence sensor. Now we pair both sensors. Press left button to pair.
Move the sensors a bit but seems failed after trying 2 times. Go back at Sensor 01 to pair speed sensor only.
Press left button to pair, move the sensor a bit & now successfully paired. Next at Sensor 02 for pairing cadence sensor.
Press left button & successfully paired as well. It showed connected via ANT+.
Next, Sensor 03 but failed previously. Next, Sensor 04 for heart rate monitor. Press left button to pair, but fail.
Now we try HRM + chest strap but also fail.
Now I’m wearing the HRM, press left button to pair & successfully paired.
Next, Sensor 05 for power meter, skip this because I don’t have one. Next, Sensor 06 for RazPro smart tail light which I have review.
On the light, press left button to pair & successfully paired with symbol at the top & same color LED shown as the light.
If light change color to white, the LED will become white color as well. Off the light, then LED will off.
Next are parameter settings. Config 01 for wheel circumference, refer to the table in user manual. 700x25c tire is 2105mm.
Press left button to change the parameter value & right button to the next value.
Press right button for Config 02, KM/H or MPH. Press left button to switch. Press right button for Config 03, user weight not bike.
Set 75 kg by pressing left button. Press right button for Config 04, temperature C or F. Press left button to switch.
Press right button for Config 05, bike type – Road or MTB. Press left button to switch.
Press right button for Config 06, GPS on or off. Press left button to switch. Press right button for Config 07, buzzer sound.
Press right button for Config 08, FTP value. I don’t know mine so skip this. Press right button for Config 09, time zone.
Press right button for Config 10, clock setting in 24-hour format. Press left button to change
Press right button to go back to page 1. Once all set, we can see all their symbols/icons & values display.
Now we try on the light via bike comp, press & hold the right button to on. Same step to off. That’s all the integration.
Open the Shanren Sport app. Profile > devices. Can see that Raz light paired. Select Add devices.
Choose Miles, app scan & find the device. Select it to pair. Enter setup wizard. Previously we had set the parameters at bike computer, so now we can see all here.
This is the GUI interface. Backlight setting. Customize setting, we can customize the display according to each pages.
At page 1, press the column 1 example then change the parameter option available. Liking the default page so not changing anything.
Bike setting. Scenario can switch between outdoor or indoor. Power, so no power meter then Miles give power estimation.
Advanced setting, sensor list to see available sensors connected.
Strava authorization, click Strava & will open up web browser for Strava website. Login & select authorize.
Go back to the app, Strava has been authorized. Enable auto upload.
Miles unit setting. Manual elevation calibration. Beep sound enable. Satellite mode with 3 options. Select 2 minimum.
Lastly, firmware upgrade, now using latest version. At home dashboard, at top, Devices, all connected devices.
At download, data to download available here. Navigation to show your route or location. HR training, to know our HR zones.
At center, manuals & instructions. At the bottom, Records. At profile, personal settings & HR zones.
Summary tab is dashboard our total rides weekly, monthly or yearly. Same for HR training.
Support, open up Shanren website. Advance setting, about – app information. Feedback if want to report & Log out.
Upper 3 dots button, for system notification & uploaded data.
For speed sensor, install at front hub & for cadence sensor at left side crank arm.
Test ride, on the Miles. GPS icon blinking looking for satellite, quite long to detect. Rotate the crank arm to detect cadence sensor.
Now GPS connected, all icons/symbol static so now we can start to record by pressing the left button & go for a ride. Auto pause mode by default.
Can toggle between page when riding. Here is page 1, page 2 & page 3 to see all the data.
Now we can see the current data/information. Can toggle between average & max data as well by pressing left button on each page.
To stop recording, press & hold left button 2 sec and upload later.
On Bluetooth & open Shanren Sport app. Device paired. Select download > Miles > Download available data. Fast transferring.
At dashboard, select Record > select available record. Routes shown, stats in detail available & graphical analysis beautifully display.
Select 3 dots button above > Share. Shown which data can be share. Select again above button to share to other media type.
Again, at 3 dots, select upload to Strava. Here is the problem, I have set it to auto-upload but now it needs to be manually select.
No issue & fast for the manual upload. We can also share Fit & GPX file.
At Strava app, we can see all data has been uploaded successfully.
Ok guys, that’s all for this video. Thank you for staying till the end. In conclusion, there are 3 things I like,
1st Shanren Mile able to customized data to be display. No. 2, waterproof HRM for swimming, best for triathlon/Ironman event.
No. 3 small in size sensors & easy to change battery. 3 things that I don’t like are, 1st price is quite expensive comparing with others.
No. 2 is it is not easy to understand the page layout, you need to memorize it.
No. 3 is the integration for smart tail light seems like a gimmick only because not able to change the light color via Miles.
On the pricing based on Shanren website, Shanren Miles is USD89.99, translate to RM379.00.
Shanren Beat 20 HRM price is USD125.00, translate to RM526.00. Either sensor price is USD49.00, translate to RM206.
Shanren also has the option to buy at bundle package with discount compare buying individual device.
