What is Read Across America Day?

Time and we’re taking a live look at the Saint Charles County Library. And you know, we’re encouraging you to pick up a new book or curl up with an old favorite because today is national read across America Day and a book is a book, Rennie. Doesn’t matter if it’s audio or not. Her director Sean pointed out that the audio books are OK. Yes, because his wife has a masters in library science and she’s telling me she knows. Alright, so national read across America Day has been recognized since 1998. It also happens to be the birthday

of beloved children’s author. Doctor Seuss and here’s a fun fact. If you read 20 minutes a day, that equates to about 1.8 million words a year. Wow. Now we want to know what is your favorite book? Just text it to us at 314-425-5355. Your answer might be featured coming up here in our 6:00 o’clock hour. And I I’m going to be honest right here. It has been quite some time since I picked up a book and read it. I think I spend way too much time on social media this kind of scrolling and reading that

way. But it would be nice to. Kind of sit back, relax, and flip some pages for a while. Well, you know what, even if you can’t do it, I always recommend doing

an audiobook because you could do it from your drive in to drive home. It’s a really nice way to just kind of catch up on life. My, the last book I read was crying in H Mart because Michelle Zauner, who wrote that book, came to Saint Louis. And so it’s a really hard book. It’s about grief and losing a mother at such a young

age. But it’s really powerful, and it’s a New York Times best selling book. So it’s it’s a really. Great. Ready if you have a chance. Alright, yeah.
