It’s a huge day for fans of both home nations as Wales play England at seven o’clock UK time this evening Shanequa is live in Doha for Newsround so right now we’re at the end of the group stages so the teams are trying to secure a place to qualify so far only Portugal France and Brazil have secured a spot now today is a big day for UK football fans as it’s the first time ever that two British nations are playing against each other at a World Cup so yes tonight at seven o’clock this evening Wales are
going against England Wales still have a chance of reaching the last 16 even though they lost their second match to Iran so to qualify Wales must beat England and hope for a draw between the United States and Iran now they’re playing each other at another stadium at the same time as for England if they lose by four goals to Wales then they could would be knocked out of the tournament and that does depend on how the other teams in their group get on as well but there is a chance that Wales and England can both
qualify and I’m sorry Nina it’s a waiting game we’ll have to find out how the other teams in group b get on later on tonight so in fact let’s
on certain things to unfold but um whilst there’s still a chance um it’s really you know it’s really simple for us we’re fully motivated and fully incentivised to throw absolutely everything into into getting a win so that’s the players now it’s time to hear from you so we went to a school with fans who support both countries take a look at this Welcome to our school it’s on the Welsh English border half of us live in Wales and the other half in England so when it comes to football and the World Cup some of us
will be cheering on the Welsh Dragons while the others are tearing for the Three Lions it’s really special to see Wales play in the World Cup because um like I haven’t seen them in my lifetime playing the World Cup I think England will um beat um Wales in the match because they’ve proved to be quite good before I think England will beat Wales because they’ve got so many good players like Kane and Saka they’ve also their really strong team I think Wales have a little chance losing to Iran and probably want to put their hopes
up a bit I want Wales to go far because I live in Wales but I want England to go even further because I support them I don’t mind England and doing well but I think Wales deserve to win more as an England fan I really want Wales to do well because they’re kind of like my second team they have really good players and I’m expecting that Wales will lose to them so I hope they do go far in the World Cup I think Wales are going to be England because they’re so much better than England
