MOVIE REVIEWS – Season 2 Episode 3 – Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) Movie Review

Hello guys, it’s Sonic & Pikachu Studios
here once again, and today, I’m gonna be
doing a movie review on Gnomeo & Juliet.
Yeah, this movie came out 10 years ago back
on February 11th 2011 not only in the United
Kingdom, but also in the United States. How
cool is that? And do you know what’s even
better, guys? I got this movie on Blu-ray
yesterday.
So now, let’s jump right into the plot already,
shall we?
So basically, the plot is that in Stratford-Upon-Avon,
birthplace of William Shakespeare, Miss Capulet
and Mr. Montague feud over whoever’s garden
is the best. Meanwhile, the garden gnomes
decorate each neighbour’s flower beds and
continue the rivalry when the humans aren’t
looking, and even though gnomes from the Red
Gardens are supposed to get along with those
of the Blue Gardens, it instead goes terribly
wrong, and then Gnomeo and Juliet themselves
fall in love, leaving many obstacles to overcome.
And that’s pretty much the plot in a nutshell,
since I don’t like to mention spoilers.
Now guys, I’m not gonna lie, this is a really
good film from Touchstone Pictures and Rocket
Pictures. Even though there were some mixed
reviews on it, I really really enjoyed it.
And also, Nanette the Frog was too damn right
hilarious, like speaking Japanese, and then
cracking jokes and loads of other stuff. And
she’s voiced by Ashley Jensen.
And honestly, Patrick Stewart, in my honest
opinion, sounds pretty decent as William Shakespeare.
He also stars as Mr Woolensworth

from Chicken
Little. Not only does he star as Mr Woolensworth,
but he also stars as Poop from The Emoji Movie,
which is an okay film, but I do personally
prefer Chicken Little, which that’s an amazing
movie!
But this movie, this is also good.
Plus, all the other characters are decent
such as Lord Redbrick, Lady Blueberry, Tybalt,
Paris, Benny, Featherstone the Flamingo, Fawn
the Deer, Fishing Gnome, Conjoined Gnome Left,
Conjoined Gnome Right, Mankini Gnome, Shroom,
The Bunnies, The Stone Fish, The Dolly Gnome
and The Red Goon Gnomes. Just a whole bunch
of decent characters!
This movie stars James McAvoy and Emily Blunt,
which those are amazing actors.
Anyways, the animation is spot-on. The storyline
is perfect. The jokes are excellent. And the
score is very decent.
This movie features music from Elton John,
which is really cool. The score was directed
by James Newton Howard and Chris Bacon.
And this movie was directed by Kelly Asbury,
who also directed Shrek 2, Smurfs: The Lost
Village & UglyDolls and he sadly passed away
last year, after 60 years of living.
So guys, I really want to say this. Rest in
Peace, Kelly Asbury, I’ll never forget you,
from 1982 to 2020.
So overall, guys, really good film! 10 out
of 10! And do I have any negative about this
movie? No I don’t.
And also, I just got the sequel Sherlock Gnomes
on Blu-ray today, and I wasn’t very interested
in it to begin with, because there were some
bad things about it, but then I realised that
it would be much better to enjoy it as much
as possible, so I just thought “Why not”.
I will be watching it eventually tonight.
So there you go, people, that was it, my movie
review on Gnomeo & Juliet.
Thank you guys watching and stay tuned for
some more episodes of Movie Reviews.
Thanks again and see you next time!
