Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel.
Today I have the new Romand zero velvet tint collection to share with you guys.
I’m gonna do a quick review and then lip swatches, so you guys can see the new shades more in detail on the lips,
and compare them to Romand’s color chart. Okay now let’s dive right into it!
This spring summer 2021 collection has
been launched recently by Romand with the name “Vintage Filter”.
Romand is aiming for sun faded, vintage filter type of looks with the four new shades
that are mid-toned easy to wear and natural looking.
The packaging is so so cute as you can see here, the bottle is textured
to give a fuzzy, grainy, vintage finish
which aligns perfectly with the theme.
The lid is this beautiful teal color and the
name of the shade is printed on the packaging.
The applicator is a doe foot wand with an angled tip.
The current retail price is 13,000 KRW each, which is approximately $11.50 in USD with the current exchange rate.
Texture. Same with other Romand’s zero velvet tints, it goes on very smoothly.
Also it’s easy to spread and smudge which
is perfect for achieving a blurred or gradient lip look.
The texture is soft, lightweight and powdery with a matte finish.
Okay, so let’s do swatches now.
The first shade i want to show you is 22 Grain Nude. It’s a nude beige color that’s warm and natural looking.
I feel like this shade is a
great base color for warmer skin tones when mixing with other deeper colors, but also is really pretty on its own,
as the soft nude beige is just enough to add pop to the skin without delivering too much color or being too pale.
The swatch from Romand’s website
is on the left for you to compare.
The next color I want to show you is 23 Vintage Taupe.
This shade is an MLBB mocha color that has a brown undertone. Honestly I wouldn’t call this shade a taupe brown.
It’s a little bit deeper than the Grain Nude shade, but still on the warmer side.
When I swatched this color on the hand, I wasn’t too into it, but when I put on the lips, it changed my mind.
It’s such a beautiful muted peach brow with a hint of chili red.
Next is 24 Fade Red. As the name suggests
this shade is red with a drop of white and grey mixed in,
to make it a little bit more faded and vintage looking.
I would say it’s not too warm or too cool, but
definitely cooler than the first two shades.
This is the boldest color in this collection.
When applied on the lips, it seems to immediately brighten up the complexion.
Next, we have 25 Nerd Pink here. It’s a dusty rose pink with a tinge of plum.
It’s a natural looking pink that is muted and
toned down. It’s feminine, alluring and wearable.
Romand recommends this color for cool skin tones, but I don’t really find this color to be super cool in my opinion.
To be honest none of these shades are very cool toned by global standards so to speak,
but the 24 and 25 are cooler toned judging by the common Korean lip color spectrum.
So what do you guys think of these new
shades? As you might have noticed Romand didn’t go with
the typical Spring Summer vibes this time, like bright vivid corals pinks or reds
which I personally think is great and unique.
Honestly I would wear these all year round
even in Fall and Winter. By controlling the amount of the product you can easily achieve different intensities,
and the formula is amazing, it’s not drying on the lips despite the matte texture and
doesn’t accentuate wrinkles on the lips which is a plus as well. Now I’m going to wipe off
the product to see if there is any staining
left. As you can see the staining is not too
strong there is only faint traces left behind.
Now let’s do a mask proof test.
I’ve put on a couple of generous coats of the product and I’m using a white mask to see if anything rubs off .
Unfortunately the product does smudge on
the mask.
But a tip here is to press the lips on a tissue a few times to remove any excess product and then put on the mask.
The intensity of the color is reduced after doing this of course, but a good amount is still intact.
This makes a big difference in helping minimize
the amount of the product transferring on to the mask.
Okay guys, so I hope you guys enjoyed this
review and swatches video and found it helpful!
