Kapil Sharma: I Am Not Done Yet Stand Up Special | Review and Analysis | Netflix

foreign
the great indian laughter challenge was among
the first time stand-up comedy was introduced to
indian maasses you can agree or disagree with the
comedy you can like or despise it and even hate it
but you cannot deny history and even though couple
Sharma’s comedy has not transformed much from
where he originated he is still one of India’s
original stand-up comedians that performed on tv
and won laughter challenge and many other
shows hi I’m jai and welcome to BUZZDUS
fair warning spoilers ahead before we move
forward we have a small appeal if you like our
content please do subscribe to our channel it’s
a little click for you but matters a lot to us.
let’s commence! kapil sharma recalls
his trajectory and the issue he has
endured throughout his professional life in the
netflix special kapil sharma i am not done yet
from how the fake news is conceived to twitter
and its toxic culture of cancelling and attacking
anyone who doesn’t agree with the twitter mob for
his relationship with his father and the distance
between generations to his imitation of current
prime minister to regional diversity from punjab
to mumbai and his relationship with his wife
prior to their marriage he has attempted to
discuss every aspect of his personal life
opinions and views in this special the tempo
and style of the act feels more calculated with
mainly mellow vanilla zingers and punch lines
he rants on exposing his social side screw-ups
slamming the country’s prime

ministers both past
and present and discussing his connection with his
father just putting it out there you might also
see these jokes become a twitter trending topic
and prime time debate topics too for political
parties in this election season and taking digs on
each other by what kapil stated about politics and
politician in his jokes cracked on this special
he boldly discussed his depressive episode and
why he had to seek counselling for it during the
special it was refreshing to see sharma utilize
his platform to express about matters that have
been on people’s mind particularly in the last two
years and was brave enough to say that despite his
stardom he too ended up going through it and did
admit he wasn’t fully conscious of it until as he
joked he came to know it from the mainstream press
considering the absence of humor according to
me it’s a pleasant narrative about an undeniably
amazing artist recalling his experience so far and
the chaotic past kapil stages of his profession
kapil sharma travels down the nostalgia road in
the second part of the show sharing a glimpse into
his childhood days in amritsar and recalling
his late father couple paints a vivid vision
of his tale with the help of some visual aid and
photographs from growing up in a middle class
family to experiencing cultural shock in mumbai to
a fun incident with shahrukh khan the king himself
kapil’s set is full of life stories these tales
are amusing but they don’t keep you interested
or hooked on for too long to be honest i was just
happy that kapil sharma was out of television as
comedy was restricted there however there were
no extremely well-lit laughters here as well
in the audience you could see some familiar
faces from indian television industry
and couple of laughs felt really awkward this is
plainly a business move to introduce kapil sharma
to the younger generation that is addicted to
netflix as television has been unable to cope up
with the new social media and internet era where
the youth is more connected to their phones than
to the idiot box. There were few interactions with
audiences including his wife and family members
however these lines with his wife guinea felt
rehearsed and non-organic he also discussed
religion how his little daughter makes him feel
as humans we should be unified and together.
by the end this all leads to a truly weird
musical number he performs a homage to his
deceit father a truly bizarre mix of passionate
and strange-sounding lullaby however it really
is his show so he can do anything he wants with
it his fans would still celebrate him nonetheless
as he has to save his brand value kapil sharma
cannot go extremely to the dark side of Netflix
comedy we hope to see him more soon on this
platform and I hope to see a much-adulterated
version of kapil sharma to summarize in one
last line it’s gonna be an absolute treat if
you’re a couple KAPIL diehard fan nothing
new to see here more narrative less comedy
so what do you think is it a hit or a miss for you
