2023 Film ‘Maestro’ Movie Review

It’s time for another movie review. Our Manning Franks takes a deep dive into the new film Maestro, a biopic following the life of American conductor, Leonard Bernstein. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing with my hands. So for the sake of the segment, I’m going to put them down. But you know who did know what they were doing? Leonard Bernstein, the world renowned and award winning composer and conductor you would most know him from and that’s uh on the town and West side story respectively. Yet did anyone truly know the man behind the

baton Bradley Cooper’s Maestro dares to peel back those musical sheets to see a man tortured by his own genius. If so doesn’t sing in you, then nothing sinks in you and if nothing sings in you that you can’t make music, something she told me. Hello, I’m Lenny. Hello, Felicia in a Maestro. Leonard Bernstein is an aspiring composer and Felicia Monterey is a hopeful actress together. The two of them lit a passionate romance that blossomed into a complex love story that shaped both of their lives. Yet as life gives them numerous twists and turns. Can that

love remain as bright and strong as it was. The day they met Bradley Cooper has had a, a beautiful trajectory from comedy, funny man to dramatic actor and now esteemed director with what

I believe to be his finest directorial effort. Yet in Maestro Cooper’s unabashed love for Bernstein is evident in his artfully inspired direction. He’s definitely starting to uncover his cinematic voice while the prosthetic work is impressive on a technical level. if distracting in some parts, it’s Cooper that channels the conductor with an undying boyish charm that sucks you in. Thanks in part to his

dazzling chemistry with Cole Carey Mulligan. Mulligan as Leonard’s wife, Felicia nearly steals the entire production from Cooper in what may be maybe a career best performance. She exudes a fiery yet timeless quality with her mere presence every time she’s on screen. It’s a testament to these two as well as their characters deep love that this movie sings as much as it does. Admittedly, there are moments where the film drags in portions but like a skilled conductor keeping the orchestra in tempo. So do Cooper and Mulligan with Maestro. I’m really in awe of what these two

did. And while I don’t know if I like Maestro more so than I like Bradley Cooper’s first film. A star is born, it’s close enough for me to be uncertain. But what I am certain enough for is that Maestro I believe is a worthy biopic for the Bernsteins love story. I’m giving Maestro a two approved, you can see it in select theaters as well as stream it on Netflix. I cannot wait to see this because he’s one of the all time great conductors for orchestras and um, in movies and plays too. Yeah, absolutely. It definitely

seems like AAA good movie for sure. I heard romance, a good romance scheme that he just said. And I’m like, I am in any rom com rom com rom can’t even say the right word. Romantic movie I am in and I liked what I was seeing from that. I don’t know. I love those kind of old school looking movies as well. I kind of like what he was showing us where it was very black and white and then you just had some of those moments where it came in and out. But I don’t know. I

like the history of it because he’s such a big figure, um, in show business and I never knew anything about his background. So it will be interesting to see good job to approve, take a break. We’ll be right back.
