I’ve seen so many romantic comedies that are also like considered terrible like Couples Retreat yeah just movies that I don’t watch bad movies like Vince vaugh was doing quite a few of them at a certain point and I I the breakup is good though is that considered a romantic comedy I don’t think so they don’t end up together in the end spoiler alert but I I think they’re is really I’m so easily Charmed by them I can tell ones that are like flatter than others and you see all the tropes and whatever like it don’t
doesn’t matter to me it is like such an easy easy path like is it is it cute is it funny do the as long as the leads have reasonable chemistry I’m like Bingo that’s all you really need 100% And what I enjoyed about this cuz while I think there could have been a little bit of added extra flare in certain spots to maybe create some like actual like Stakes not in like explosions but stakes in the sense of like a sometimes I feel like the best romantic comedies often have like some good Dam dramatic tension
at hold like in terms of like certain hyi they probably could have played into the wedding a little bit more um in order to escalate some some Stakes here because they they and maybe they could have even enhanced some of the drama about what the characters are kind of overcoming just to feed a little bit more into this modernday Millennial romance story that they’re telling right uh but really the things I showed up for I’m like yeah it’s excellent it’s it’s actually like an excellent um romantic comedy the wall predictable and whatever who cares uh
Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell I I can totally see why people have been raving so much about them because uh they play their archetypes very very well and their chemistry is really dynamite and uh there because there’s so much banter between them that at times it doesn’t sound like like okay was this part improvised is this part like certain equips that they have with each other and then when they are falling in love and everything like that the whole goal with it was to they have to seem like they’re already in love with each other
even while they’re fighting and and I feel like that kind of shows through even through their sexual chemistry and that was the other part about this that I I thought was a little surprising was oh I heard it was a bit of a hard R and I wasn’t ex I was surprised by how it’s like it’s got all the sweetness of a romantic comedy but it’s a little raunchier but it’s not like so runchy to the point of of of like a Jud appau movie you know like Knocked Up or 40-Year-Old Virgin don’t watch those
well like foral virgin I consider a romantic comedy I don’t even consider knocked up a romantic comedy um but those are like I I don’t think this is the kind of movie that would probably skew more female demographic yeah whereas I I still feel like those movies while I would call them romantic comedies I’m like they’re definitely for like more Bros you know and uh and I and Bros another good romantic well because you’ve got in those movies you’ve got like the unattractive man baging the hot feed attractive every day man clearly written by a
man movie you know yeah they’re F they’re hilarious but the but this was one that had the ear marks of of of uh the ones that are more like female demographic romantic driven comedies that I love uh just with a bit of a raunchier touch to it with a very updated Millennial FL Millennial touches with everything they’re they’re commentating on and modern-day dating relationship stuff so I I thought it was like a destination where it’s like the actors are clearly vacationing simultaneously you know uh it it was and there’s like some good effort to it
and the you like the wacky parents but it wasn’t annoying and they still feel like they made an attempt to bring something at least the actors did uh bring something different to what otherwise could have just been annoying cartoon characters you know let me tell you the audience you’re dealing with here um religiously during Christmas time I sit down and I watch almost every single Hallmark Christmas movie that they release I love them I don’t care how campy how corny how predictable I love it there’s just something comforting about it there’s something fun to sit
and watch this journey that is predictable but I like knowing how these movies are going to end I don’t want a ight shamalan twist in my romantic comedy you know I want it to be simple you never know though I don’t want it that would be the ultimate twist I don’t want it be like I never saw a Twist coming but like I I don’t want that so I this to me worked really well at the beginning I started I and I think I mentioned it had a little bit of a hard time being like
I don’t see the romance aspect of it it’s really runchy it’s really sexual I buy their sexual chemistry but I wasn’t buying their romantic chemistry at first but they solved that for me with the scene in the water where they’re on the buoy and whatnot it was totally believable their chemistry is really well together and yeah I I it was a it’s exactly what I expected this movie to be and I’m not disappointed at all you know a cliche route I’m surprised the movie never went down was cuz I I thought okay yeah he’s going
to have the whole thing with the exgirlfriend of his being there super obvious uh the that was the other thing about sexuality I thought was interesting with this film was like they’re more sexually comfortable you know it’s not as like taboo I mean he stripped his clothes off like there were no problem when yeah no one’s like commenting I’m like you’re naked you know like they’re just that comfortable with each other and the the the the ex fiance being there I thought there was going to be a whole thing with her she’s like connecting with
him and like who do I and like when when they have their All Is Lost like it’s not going to work out that she would gravitate towards him that I thought they were going to do that that romantic Trope or they could have even done the Romantic Trope they did nothing with him really actually he was just there ultimately yeah they could have done the Romantic Trope where the old fiance’s an old girlfriend are like conspiring to like get them apart too like Margaret that could have been something like that yeah but it was not
that either it was a very girls girl type of movie you know there’s no girls backstabbing each other in this movie it’s not like there’s no malicious intent in any of it it’s dude it’s a modern day romcom it’s a modern day romcom modern day romcom cuz yeah in terms of an outline it follows everything that you would expect and and uh but I like the locations and I thought it looked beautiful it surprisingly beautiful looking movie stunning the are very Vivid I wish we could get our TV to look like that with like a
sexy trk yeah it’s cool cool track they definitely did blurring effects at certain points I could tell yeah no it was like a music video it was it was a cool track with uh great commit I think great physical performance commitment too like uh Glenn Powell I thought he would just be reasonably Charming because my introduction like many for Sydney Sween is when you show me Euphoria mhm so I’ve always is associated Sydney Sweeney as a really strong actress because of that show so whereas Glenn Powell I’ve always thought has been a Charming guy I’ve
never really seen him in anything and it could just be due to my lack of being privy to his filmography uh has been like wow he really stands out to me or wow he’s really great he’s always just been like yeah you’re you’re good you’re you’re you’re passively charming all the time besides top G Maverick I couldn’t name a movie he’s in and uh and then here I thought he was excellent I thought he was so he was really funny he played all the multiple layers really well to this guy and his comedic timing was
great and he they he bounces off everyone well in any situation I really thought he was a strong leading man here yeah and um the dermont morron remember the Train movie where the guy remember the Train movie it’s not him that is 100% are you messing with me no it’s not him it’s him what is the Train movie from the OC no it’s not yes it is what guy from the OC the dad from the OC is dermont morron the dad in The OC no that’s the guy on the train movie is the OC guy

when the first uh when he when he made like Wall Street or something like that Bane I I haven’t seen that scene but it was described to me devotion is the other one that he was in is in Twisters hidden figures he does things that involve aerial stuff even in this movie he gets up in a helicopter that’s his Trope even the guy who’s afraid of hides gets in a helicopter he’s really good in Scream Queens he’s hilarious okay yeah see I I didn’t know that about his uh his work here but I didn’t realize
it was him and I I think can you look up a Stonehedge I think I don’t know if I’m saying that correctly but I think Stone Henge henge face go face don’t oh my gosh I think one thing the movie could have implemented a little bit more too look at that tell me that’s not his face I mean it’s good looking ston HED that is 100% his face oh Easter Island statues there you go that’s 100% him was I felt like the movie was actually a pretty strong Ensemble while you had your two characters who
were you know Sydney Sweeney and Glenn po B and Ben while I thought they were really strong and then the first half was like an ensemble movie I kind of felt like I was forgetting about The Ensemble for a lot of the second half of the film to the point where I was like oh yeah we’re at a wedding and like that’s that’s the purpose and then I think they would shy away from Parts like a little bit of Leaning into some quote un quote drama or it’s not like the movie doesn’t turn into a
drama but that would just enhance the comedy which was already a really funny movie you know I felt like they were getting a lot of passes and getting forgiven for a lot of the disruptions that they were causing on the wedding and it was to the have you seen Meet the Parents no oh I think you would actually like that movie I really do yeah I don’t know does it have Ben Stiller in it yeah it’s not like it’s not it’s not like typical Ben Stiller yeah it’s it’s a really I think I I think
you would really like that movie um but the awkwardness of contributing to the wedding I I would I think um it I I wish we kind of kept them at the they didn’t even at the Forefront I get the focus has to shift but I would sort of forget about uh the rest of the cast when I did think they were actually helping to elevate it but again you know these are more like nitpicky things or even like the the drama of the parents bringing the ex fiance I’m like how is no one pissed about
this like it doesn’t really amount to anything how does her sister not be like this is really messed or no one else be like this is really messed up like yeah it’s just but it’s I’m I’m only thinking I’m only thinking about these things because we have a camera putter 100% I wouldn’t care either way if we didn’t have like really just going like well what else you know but if the camera was for us it be like that it was fun that was that’s exactly what I wanted it to be sure could it have
been greater of course and there uh these are like suggestions merely that maybe could have lent itself to a a film that could have maybe gotten a higher Rotten Tomatoes score if they did a little bit of more it’s only like 54% it’s kind of low from critics yeah what’s audience score I think it’s like 85 that makes sense yeah critics want depth and critics want nuance and that’s not what I want by Rob C buddy so to be quite honest with you it doesn’t bother me but the movie’s got a heart it does and
that’s all it really counts yeah and uh boobies and boobies nudity a lot of Glen pal nudity oh yeah and that one guy with the he didn’t get more attractive to you no I just see this GL pal didn’t grow at all even with his personality no I just see the rock face sorry Glen pal he doesn’t care yeah was not bothered by me attracted there are plenty other women who do he’s not bothered by it but yeah it was it was cute right yeah what were they doing with the butt thing though do people
