On that long last night. Rest. Just lay hands on yourself and say rest Your mind’s been in trouble. Lay hands on your mind and say rest. Rest Rest in Jesus right there where you are Ask him, lord, regulate my mind so I can rest in Nobody knows like you know. Lord, what I’ve been through. But I know that you are that you are So, lift your hands and ask him. Lord, just give me some rest. Let me rest in you right now. With wherever I am in life and with whatever I’m going through in life
and whatever trials and tribulation life’s may throw my way, may have thrown my way, may be throwing my way. Lord, allow me to rest in you right now. Right now. Burdens that I’m carrying lift them worries that I have erase them. Doubts that I may feel take them away. Hurt. That I may have brought with me Heal it Lord. Sorrow that I may have turn it to joy. Yeah. Give me rest in you Right now. All of the things that are going on around let me focus on you that I may receive your perfect peace.
Yeah. That peace that passes understanding Right there where you are captain. Whatever you’re going through Nobody knows it like you and the lord on your pew can’t understand. Matter
Yeah. If we don’t expect him to protect us. Wherever you are today, Find that rest. Is right there in front of you. Waiting to be inside of you Whatever burdens you brought with you I got a witness here that he’s a burden bearer. And that he is a heavy load. Some of us are worried about our children. We do understand that it’s our job to train them up in the way that they should go. That when they go to grow old, they won’t depart. Give them essential qualities That and allow god to bring them through
whatever it is life throws their way. We serve a good god. Who has all power in the palm of his hands Our liturgical reading this morning is coming to us from first Corinthians chapter eleven First Corinthians chapter eleven we’re going to start at verse twenty-three and read through 27 responsibly. First Corinthians chapter eleven starting at verse twenty-three, for I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you. That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread. Church, after the same manna also, he took the cup. When he
had sucked, saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood. This do you as of as you drink it in remembrance of me. Church. All, wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body, and the blood of the Lord. We have read first Corinthians chapter eleven, verses 23 through 2-seven. May the Lord add a blessing to the readers, hearers, and doers holy Let us pray. Master, we thank you. For every good and perfect gift comes from you. And we know that today is a
gift. Yes. That’s why it’s called the present. Yes. You gave us a present this morning. When you woke us up with your presence. Yes. Amen. You gave us a present this morning. Yes. When you woke us up by your power. Yes lord. You gave us a present this morning. Mm hmm. When you kept us with your provisions. Yes. So, we come into this holy sanctum today. Amen. With our head vow but our hearts lifted and our hands lifted and our thoughts lifted to the throne of grace. Saying, master, you have been good to us. You’ve
been better to us than we have been to ourselves. Yeah. And you are better to us than we are towards one another. Yes. So, we glorify in you this morning. We magnify you this morning. We exalt your name today. We lift you on high for you us if I be lifted up from the earth, I’ll draw all men unto me. So, we come lifting you because you’re worthy to be praised. We lift you because since we were in our mother’s womb, you have taken care of us. Lord, there have been days when we overlooked you.
Yeah. But there’s never been a day that you’ve overlooked us. There have been days when we did not see you but there never in a day that you did not see us. There have been days that we didn’t talk to you. Yeah. But there’s never been a day that you did not talk to us. So, master, we thank you that you didn’t treat us like we treated you. We thank you that you haven’t turned your backs on us like we’ve turned our backs on you. We thank you that we have not gone astray from you.
That you have not gone astray from us like we’ve gone astray for you. Thank you for being forgiving god. Thank you for being a merciful god. Thank you for being a lifting god. Thank you for being a god of another chance. All not a second chance, not a third chance, not a fourth chance. Thank you for being the god of another chance because we messed up our second chance. We messed up our third chance. We messed up our four, fifth, sixth, and seven tens but thank you god that you don’t count how many chances that
we need to get it right. You just keep blessing us. And providing for us. Lord, we want You teach us in your word. That we or a family. That all of your churches are a family. Regardless of where we may meet and regardless of what time we may worship, we’re all a family. And you told us that when one of us mourns, we all mourn. Amen. And when one of us rejoice, we all rejoice. Well, Lord, we as the Mount Calvary family, come rejoicing today with our sister church, the Mount Olive Baptist Church. As they
go into their new sanctuary today, we lift you on their behalf. We say thank you. We say glory. Hallelujah. We bless you god for blessing them. We give you praise. We give you honor. We say you are a good god. Hallelujah. Now, come into this place today. Fill this building with your smoke Fill this building with your train. Fill this building with your presence. Yeah. That somebody will know that you are god. And above you, there is none other. In the name of the father, in the name of the son, in the name of the

When you found it, holler at me and say, I got it. I got it. If you’re still looking, holler at me and say, I’m still looking. Amen. Sam, first Samuel chapter seventeen verses 41 through 4five. Goliath walked out towards David with his shield bearing a head with his shield bearer ahead of him. Sneering in contempt at this ruddy-faced boy. Am I a dog? Roar to David
that you come and meet with a stick and he cursed David by the name of his gods. Goliath’s gods. Okay. Come over here and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and wild animals, Goliath yell. David replied to the Philistine, you come with sword, spear, and javelin. Yes sir. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of heaven’s army. Yes. The god of the armies of Israel. Israel. Whom you have defiled. Look at your neighbor and say, neighbor. Neighbor. I come. I come. In the name of the lord. Of the lord. Come
in the name Yes. The lord. Amen. Today, we continue our series of sermons with the intentions of challenging each of us to exercise our faith and take godly risks. Knowing that if god can put it before us, he is able to perform it through us. Alright. Let’s say that again. If god can put it before us. God can perform it through us. I believe that we are standing collectively and individually on the precipice of destiny and deliverance. We are standing on the precipice of breakthrough, breakout, and break loose. We are standing on the precipice of
receiving those god things that God has prepared for them that love him. First Corinthians two and nine. But in order for us to maximize the moments, in order for us to receive the rewards of these revelations. We must find the resolve to step out on faith. And take a risk that God word is true. Amen. And it will not return unto us void. Isaiah fifty-five and eleven. Look look at somebody and tell him his word. His word will return. Return. To you. To you. But it won’t return void. See you then. That was that was
a shouting cue right there. His word will return to you but it returned to you void. In in other words, when his word returns to you, there will be some evidence of it being his word. Ha, when his word returns to you, there will be, there will be, there will be some substance of it being his word. His word says that he can heal you when you are sick. And when his returns to you, it’s going to return to you with the healing. Uh I wish I had somebody. His word says that he’ll take the
last and make em the first. So, when his word returns to you, it will return to you when you move in up the line. His word says that he’ll keep you in perfect peace and when his word returns to you, everybody else going to be going crazy and you going to be saying, what’s the matter? Oh, I wish I had somebody in here that’s a testimony that his word does not return void. They would just give him five seconds of praise. His word will not return void If you put in the work. Put in the
work, you will get some rewards. If you put it in action, you will get some returns. If you put his word in action, you will find what you cannot do, god can do. If you put it Yes. You’ll find where you cannot go. God can take you. If you put it in action, you’ll find what you cannot have. God will give you. If you put it, in action, you’ll find that what you cannot do, god will allow you to do it. I wish I had somebody that’s put it in action. Would give somebody a high
five and tell em it’ll work. If you put it in action. Turn our attention Today, today who was born in small beginnings, born in Bethlehem. Jesse’s youngest boy. you know, his resume. He was simply a shepherd. Charged with watching sheep. That were not even his. You missed that? He was a chef it. Yes. Charged with washing cheat. That weren’t his. You still missed that? He was a shepherd. Charged with watching sheep. That were not his. Sometimes you know blessing to get was yours. It’s tied in how you take care of what is somebody else’s. You
wondering why you ain’t got your own feel? Cuz you ain’t took care of the field you in. And the lord say how I’m going to give you some sheep. If you haven’t been faithful helping somebody else with their sheep. He was simply a shepherd. Charged with watching. The of sheep that were not healed. Yeah, but the prophets, the prophet Samuel, came one day, you know the story. To Jesse’s house. And anointed David as the next king of Israel. Yeah. Which surprise everybody even his daddy. Yeah. But see, that’s what I love about God. One thing
that I love mostly about god is god can see possibilities in us. Yeah. That we cannot even believe are possible. Somebody missed that. God can see possibilities in us that we don’t even believe are possible. Nobody saw David as king but god saw his character. Nobody could picture him on the throne but god saw his temperament. What am I trying to say I’m trying to say, folks can see where you are but god can see where you’re going. Oh, look at somebody and tell em don’t judge me by why but where by where I am
because I know god can see where I’m going and I’ve just made up in my mind to praise him where I am while I’m on my way to where I’m going. That’s why I run around like I do because I know movement is on the way. Don’t judgement based on where I am. Don’t judge me based on how I look right now. Don’t judge me. Based on what I’m going through right now because eyes have not seen. Neither has it entered into the heart of man the good things. I wish I had a Bible reader.
That god has in store for the people that love him. I wish I had about ten folk in here that could testify. Don’t judge me by where I am. Because where I am is not where I shall be. It’s just a conduit that I’ve got to go through on the way to what God has in front of me. I wish I had about 17 cousins in here. Know god has something in front of you that no god is working something out behind the scenes that no god has put something on the inside of you. That’s
a rumbling in your stomach and every time you turn around, you feel yourself going a little bit higher. As a matter of fact, when you look at where you are right now and you remember where you were 6 months ago, you can’t help but to throw up your hands because you can tell your neighbor, I may not be where I’m going but thank god I ain’t where I used to be. You have no how god how far god has brought me. You have no idea. Me. I wish I had somebody that know god has been
good to you would give him praise in today You see my problem. God sees my possibilities. He looks through my problems. Finds my possibilities, and then starts working that I can achieve that which given. God has brought you. A long way. Tell somebody you think you know who I am. But I praise God this morning. Because he knows where I’m going. You don’t know my story. Or the things that I’ve been through. That’s why. This morning, we give him praise because god knows where he’s going. Where we are going. We lift him on high. Amen.
Because he knows where we are going. Look at David. On his way, reverend Daniels to being God gives you something. No devil in hell can stop. What god says will happen from happening. He anointed him to be king. But when he anointed him to be king, he did not make him king. Because your anointing is also on the inside of you And your preparation is what you got to go through. So that that anointing on the inside of you can show up on the outside of you. See that’s why even though you’re anointed you still
got to cry sometimes. Even though you’re anointed, you still got to be by yourself sometimes. Even though you’re anointed, folks still allow on you, even though you’re anointed, folks still talk about you. Even though you’re anointed, folks still say what you can’t do and you wonder, you say, god, you giving me all of this anointing and I’ve still got to go through this hell and god said, you got to go through some stuff for your anointing to be tempered and for for your anointed to go through and for it to be shaped and formed so
you can handle what you got to go through. If I give you anointing with no problem, if I give you anointing with no difficulty, if I give you anointing with no desperation and no despair, you won’t learn to be grateful for the anointing because it’s going to be anointing. The anointing that brings you through the difficulty is going to be an anointing that brings you the despair. It’s going to be the anointing that let you love jokers that can’t stand you. It’s going to be the anointing that let you keep on smiling when folks are
trying to tear you down. It’s going to be the anointing so you got to go through something which will anointing because your anointing is going to help you go through what you got to go through. So, you can get through what I put in front of you. Somebody tell god thank you for my anointing. It breaks Yoke David It’s anointed to be king. Uh huh. He’s next in line. But at the time of our text, his fellow countrymen find themselves in a petrified position. Because the Philistine champion who stands over nine feet tall. A bronze
helmet, a bronze coat, bronze leg armors, and a bronze javelin has challenged any servant of Saul. To a battle. I am sure that the Israelite army was filled with fear and frustration. Uh huh. Because they were facing a giant that was bigger than the did not have the ability to defeat him but he had the ability to defeat and somebody who’s listening to me right now you’re feeling that exact frustration Because you’re dealing with an adversary that looks bigger than your ability. Imma say that again. Your adversary looks bigger than your ability. What you are
facing or dealing with on the outside has caused you to doubt what you have on the inside. Your frustrations your difficulties despair. More questi ons than answers. More doubt than certainty. More I don’t knows than I was standing in front of you. As you questioning what you have inside. Your problem is so big. Your pain is so big. Your difficulty is so big that it has caused you to forget that greater is he that is in you. That is in the world. First John four and four. Let me encourage somebody this morning by letting you
know. I don’t care how big your Goliath is. It is not bigger than the power of the god inside of you. Oh, I wish I woulda had somebody right there. I don’t care how big your Goliath is. It is not bigger than the power of your god that rest and reign on the inside of you. Give somebody a high five and tell em god is bigger. If they didn’t receive it, find you, somebody else. Give em a high five and tell em god is bigger. Give yourself a high five and tell yourself, god is bigger.
Now, give god a praise for being bigger than any problem that Verse sixteen says, verse sixteen says, verse sixteen says, that for 40 days, the enemy strutted in front of the Israelite army. Now, the number 40 is mentioned one hundred and times in the Bible. And it symbolizes a period of testing, trial, tribulation on your way to triumph. You missed that. It symbolizes. Trial, tribulation, on your way to triumph. It symbolizes fighting, frustration, fear, desperation, and difficulties on your way to winning. You ain’t got it yet. It symbolizes what you got to go through as
you’re on your way to what god is bringing you to. He was tormenting them he was tearing them. He thought he was traumatizing them. No, all he was doing was trying them, testing them while god was preparing to triumph them. You ain’t got it yet. All he was doing was testing them. Yeah. And trying them while god was on his way to triumphing them. And I don’t know who I’m talking to but somebody you’ve been going through trials, you’ve been going through testing, you’ve been going through tribulations. But I dare you to lift your hand
in praise. Cuz I come to let you know what you’ve been going through was just preparing you for your triumph. I wish somebody would just look at your neighbor and say I’m about to win this thing baby. It don’t look like I am but I’m about to win. All the Lord is about to flip the script on this thing baby. Things are about to turn around on my behalf. Oh, I just got a first down. That was the first first down of the game. Oh, but I got some more time on the clock and all
the fat lady ain’t sung yet. Oh, I wish I had somebody who know god’s getting ready to turn something around in your life that would just praise him like he already did it. Tell your neighbor, excuse me while I lift my hands, while I open my mouth, while I bless the lord, because he turn it almighty. You ever had like he have to bless you. Oh, I wish I had somebody that knows what it’s like to see god flip the script on your behalf. David said I see everybody else is running afraid of this Philistine.
And he asked What is the reward for killing this fool? Read the story. His brothers have no faith in him. Matter of fact, they asked him Walter, what you doing here? Baby bro. What a sheep. You supposed to be taking care of. Why you even Show liberty. Self. You don’t even look the part. That was for somebody to run around the building. Cuz right now you don’t even look the part. Don’t look like God can do nothing with you. Life has beat you down so bad. You got black eyes. Your hair’s nappy. Oh you you
you eyelashes falling off. You ain’t putting no makeup on in a long time. You just trying to make it. Your clothes are wrinkled. You just trying to make it. Your house is dirty. But tell your neighbor don’t judge me by what I look like right now. Because God’s got something on the inside of me and things about to turn around. That’s what’s wrong with you. You didn’t know I was blessed because you was looking at how I look but what I look like is not indicative of what’s in me greater. I wish some folks that
life has beat you down would just holla. I’m better than what I look like. He said, you know, even We don’t even. Watch this. His brothers asked him, why are the sheep you supposed to be caring for? Because sometimes, the very people who will benefit from your faith. Are the very people who are so quick to doubt you in your faith walk. If he think The giant. It was going to benefit Yeah. He wasn’t fighting the giant for him. He had already been anointed king. He was fighting the giant for them. Very people. Will benefit
from what god puts inside of you. Yeah. Of the very ones. Yeah. That often times tell you why god can’t use you. The very people who benefit from your faith are sometimes the ones who are so quick to doubt your faith. Alright. The very ones who would benefit from his determination are the ones that doubt his determination. That’s right. Sometimes the very people that you will help are the people who will hurt you. Yeah. If anybody should have been lifting him it should’ve been his brothers If anybody should be lifting Mount Calvary. It should be
Mount Calvary members. If anybody should be saying what we can do, it should be peoples whose names are on the road, who hold a position, and who show up every Sunday and lift their hands and say that god is good. Tell your neighbor, if anybody should believe in us. we should believe in us. Don’t expect others to believe you can do what you believe you can do. He says in verse thirty-two. Uh huh. In spite of what my brothers say. I’ll fight the giant. King tells him, verse thirty-three, in essence, you can’t fight the giant.
You are only a boy. David gives him a rundown of everything that he has endured. Yeah. As a shepherd in his father’s field. Mm hmm. You ready to preach this thing, reverend? He gives him a copy of his resume. And in his resume where it said, experience. It says, lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my. Oh, when the lions and tigers came to get my father’s sheep, I would go out with just a club in my hand and I would beat the mess out that lion and the sheep, he would let it go free. Watch this.
He tells him, I have been prepared for this. Alright. Somebody can testify with David. You have been prepared for this. Everything you’ve been through on this journey has prepared you to fight this giant. Every mountain that you had to climb prepared you to fight this this giant. Yeah. Every battle that you had to fight has prepared you to fight this giant. Oh yeah. The face off occurs around verse forty-one. Alright. The Bible says that David picks up five Psalms in verse forty. And Goliath makes fun of David. In verse forty-three. As a matter of fact,
he laughs in David’s face. But David, he knew that he, the last last. Laughs best. Grab somebody. And tell them neighbor, you don’t know like I know but god is getting ready to make me laugh. I wish I had a witness here. Everybody else is laughing at you. Saying what you can’t do and what you can’t overcome and where you can’t go. But if you’re not to mean find your neighbor and that neighbor’s hand and say neighbor, I’m getting ready because god is about to make me laugh because the same folk that says I can’t,
they going to be right there when god shows them I can. Is there anybody here that’s ready to laugh? That’s a chuckle on the inside of you because when you sing mad to wear on the lawn has brought you through you’re able to put a smile on your face and lift your hands and say lord you’ve been good to me David tells Goliath you come with Bible says, that David watch this. His slingshot. Through one of the five stones. Between the eyes that didn’t kill Goliath. Would kill Goliath is when David who didn’t have a
sword went to Goliath, took Goliath’s sword. Shocked off his neck. And killed him dead. What am I trying to say? The very thing that the enemy is trying to use to defeat you. God’s going to put it in your hands and let you defeat your enemy. I wish I had somebody. I wish I had somebody. I wish I had somebody. I wish I had somebody. and no god is about to equip you with what you need. The enemy’s camp to destroy Go get it. Those are the church holders. If there’s one, If there’s one. Who’s
out of the ark of safety. Candidate for baptism Somebody right now. Somebody right now, you have a giant that’s facing you and your giant looks bigger than your ability. Lift your hands towards me right now. And let’s touch and agree. That every giant that stands in your way. Whether it be depression, sickness, despair, difficulties, jobs, relationships, that today. God will give you what you need. To defeat those giants in your life. But you got to willing to take that risk on god. Face that giant head on and say I stand I come. In the name.
of the lord. Sister Kimball, I feel you. I see you. I touch and I agree with you. Right now. That every battle that you’re fighting. That god will grant you perfect peace. That he will heal your body from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. That you’ll get your smile back. That you’ll get your joy back. That you’ll get your laugh back. God is about to give you everything back that the enemy tries to steal. Somebody shout, I’m getting my stuff back. In the name of Jesus. Some people say I’m craving
I can’t explain. When I call your name said it’s just like fire. The Holy Ghost gets a moving. Talking about the I know I want to introduce the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Board of Directors. These individuals are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church is the place where we exalt the savior. Where we empower the saints, and where we evangelize the sinners. They are charged with the responsibility of reaching out to church members. In an effort to get more individuals involved with our church ministries. In the coming weeks, you
will be made abreast of different activities as well as conversations that will be led by these individuals to help us be a more effective and efficient church moving forward. We have hurt you. I have heard you. We need to have a voice of the people. Yes. That’s heard so that we can move forward in being the best church that we can possibly be. Where we evangelize the sinners. Cover these individuals. Who have given up their time, their talents, their treasures. To say I want to do my part. To make my church the best church that she can possibly be. Throw your arms around
them. Heal them where they are sick. Build them up where they are torn down. Prop them up on every leading side. And everybody that’s connected to them. Let them be blessed in the city And blessed in the field. Lord you’ve been good from my to Mount Calvary for 90 years and all we’re trying to do god is continue to let our light shine Amen. That somebody may see our good works and glorify you which is in heaven. Bring us together as one family. One faith, one baptism. Knowing that we serve one god. Being many members
but body All working together because we know that all things work together for the good of them. Who love you. Yes. And are called according to your purpose. It’s in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. We pray. And all the believers, all over the church say it together. And God bless y’all.
