iOS 17 review – TODAS las NUEVAS FUNCIONES y cambios para tu iPhone

Apple launches today the long-awaited iOS 17 update and in this video we are going to do a thorough analysis of all its changes and novelties. As there are quite a few, I will not go too deep into each function so as not to lengthen the video too much, but tell me in the comments if you are interested that we make a separate video about some functionality in particular. iOS 17 is compatible with all iPhones from the 2nd generation iPhone SE and the iPhone XR and XS onwards. The iPhone 8 and iPhone X are left out.

To update you will have to go to the iPhone settings and, in general, software updates will come out when Apple releases it, which is expected to be from 7 pm in Spain. We start! One of the most prominent novelties is the new rest mode. This function is activated when the following conditions are met. 1. That you have activated this function in the iPhone settings and 2. That your iPhone is connected to the charger and in a horizontal position. Once done, when your iPhone is locked, you will see that this function is activated automatically and it

starts to show you information on the screen. From this view we can slide through the different widgets to choose the one we want to see.

We can choose between a great variety and it is expected that it will go to more when developers update their apps allowing to connect them with this function. If you want to know more about this function, do not miss this video that we dedicate to help you get the most out of it. We have new backgrounds with this new version. In addition to this background that you see characteristic of iOS

17 and that varies depending on whether we are using the dark mode or the light mode, we also have a new category of backgrounds called Kaleidoscope, which many of you will hear because they have been on the Apple Watch for a while. Also the category of backgrounds of meteorology and astronomy has more planets, as in this case Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. And before moving on to the next category of novelties, when customizing our lock screen, we have greater control to modify the thickness of all the font sources that we can choose for the

time. We move on to the widgets and now the widgets are interactive and will allow us to interact with them. For example, we can play from the music widget to start playing a song or turn on a light bulb from our home widget or mark as completed a reminder. All this without having to open the corresponding apps. In addition, these widgets react to the actions we do on them. Particularly, this is an improvement that I celebrate and that I think will be very useful as developers begin to update their apps so that we can perform

more actions from these. AirDrop has also received improvements with this update. Now if we bring our iPhone closer to the iPhone or Apple Watch of another person, what they have called as NameDrop will be activated and that will allow us to transfer our contact sheet with the other person or only receive yours if it is what we want. There are some buttons that will allow us to choose what we want in any case. This new shipping method can also be applied to transfer photos, videos or files that we have previously selected on our iPhone. We

just bring it closer and that’s it. Now imagine that you are sending photos to a friend by AirDrop and that suddenly you have to go. Well, if your friend and you have started a session in iCloud, the content will continue to be transferred through the Internet. This is not yet possible, but it will be in a future update that Apple will launch before the end of the year. The keyboard in iOS 17 has received two improvements. One of them is that now the self-corrected words are temporarily underlined so that you know what has changed and

you can return to the original word with a single touch. The other improvement is only available in English and is the prediction of the words that the system understands that you will want to write before finishing a sentence so that with a simple touch on the space bar you can complete it without having to write it to the end. This function would have been good to be able to use it in Spanish, but unfortunately we have to wait. We go with the message app that incorporates quite a few changes. For example, now it has a

new simplified interface to see all the complements of the app. Before they appeared in a row on top of the text field and now we will see them by clicking on the plus icon. I particularly like this new format, much less intrusive, and we will only see it when we need it. Among these complements we now see some novelties. For example, in the Stickers menu, now all of our different apps will be grouped in this section. We will also have accessible a new button that allows us to create stickers quickly using some of our photos.

It also works very well, being able to choose a photo from our library that automatically separates the subject from the background and to which we can apply effects to make it much more visual, such as adding a outline, giving it a comic effect and more. But be careful, because what I like most about this function is that we can also create animated stickers using our Live Photos. To these we will not be able to add outline effects and others so as not to lose the animation, but they are just as great. And of course, many

of you will think, if we have stickers created in iMessage, can we send them to other apps? The answer is yes, because if we go to the iPhone keyboard settings, below you will see how the function of Memoji stickers that we had until now has been simplified to stickers and now includes all those that we have created, not only those that are related to Memoji. Returning to Messages, we also see a new menu called Arrival Warning, which allows us to notify our contact when we arrive at our destination. And beware, jokes aside, this seems to

me a very good function because it allows us to share the current location in a limited or complete way. In the latter, it shows the route we have traveled, the location of the last time the iPhone was unlocked, the location in which that person took the Apple Watch and information about the battery and the network signal of the devices. For example, this to check that your children arrive well to a certain place, I think it’s great. Another improvement in Messages, and that is appreciated, we find it in the voice notes. If we click on this

audio menu, the recording will start in question, being able to pause it at all times, listen to what we have recorded, reschedule the recording if you wish, and of course, send it or cancel it. This seems to me a great addition since sending voice notes on iOS 16 seemed like a real mess to me, they didn’t work well at all. And if we are the ones who receive an audio and we can’t listen to it at a certain time, it’s okay because now Messages will show us a transcription of this message. Another addition that we

find in the Messages app is the quick access to our photos. If we hold down the plus button for a few seconds, we will quickly access our library to select the photos we want to send to our contact. In the privacy and security settings, we can activate a sensitive content warning indicator that detects photos and videos with possible nudes that we can receive by the apps and services that we have activated. Among them, Messages, and the blurring so that we can see them to let us know about it. Detection is done through automatic learning within

the device, so Apple has no access to the photos. We leave Messages and go to Maps, because Apple Maps also have some improvements. For example, they have now added an adjustment that allows you to download maps from an area to be able to use it without a connection. In addition, if you see updates of these over time, they will be automatically updated so that they are always updated locally on your phone. Depending on the region we choose to download, they will occupy more or less space on the iPhone, but it will be great for those

moments when we are going to be in areas where the coverage can make us do theirs. In the phone app, now we can customize the appearance of our contact file so that when we call one of our contacts, it appears on their lock screen as we have customized it. We have different ways of customizing it to be able to adjust it according to our preferences. And be careful, because we will not only be able to do this with our contact file, we will also be able to customize the poster of any contact on our agenda

so that when it marks us, it looks as we prefer. This is ideal, especially for those who do not have an iPhone and do not want them to get along with the rest. They have also added a function called Live Voicemail that allows you to transcribe in real time the message that your contacts are leaving in the voice mailbox. Of course, it is only available in English and in the United States and Canada. FaceTime now allows you to leave a video or voice message to someone who cannot pick up the call at that moment. To

do this, you will simply have to wait for FaceTime to notify you that your contact is not available and you can start recording. For example, it has not allowed me to continue beyond this part because the person I have called still did not have iOS 17. Also now when we are on a video call, we can activate 3D effects to surprise our friends. The iPhone will detect, for example, when we raise both thumbs up to show some fireworks, or for example when we make the gesture of a heart with our hands. I encourage you to

try it and discover for yourself all there is. Password settings have been updated by adding two new options mainly. One of them allows us to automatically delete verification codes in the email app after filling them automatically. Something very convenient if you use this authentication method in many services. Also now we can share a group of passwords with family or friends, as well as access keys to automatically synchronize on all devices. Even if we make a change, it will be synchronized for everyone. And when we do not want a person in the group to access these

passwords, nothing happens because we can delete it at any time. The music app has also received some improvements, such as the song chain that many asked for, especially those that came from Spotify. This function can be activated and configured from the settings, being able to choose the duration of the meltdown between songs. SharePlay support has also been added in CarPlay, so that any contact can play and control the music that is played in the car. This is ideal to avoid the typical situations of, put this song. If that person has an iPhone, she can put

it herself. Visually, the floating player of the app now has a redesign that shows the rounded corners. And a new menu has also been added that allows us to see all the components that have been part of the creation of the songs. We go with Siri, which has been updated, allowing a new simplified activation command. We can choose between the classic Hey Siri or a simple Siri to start listening to us. Of course, only in English and limited to Australia, Canada, Great Britain and the United States. Ashamed. Also now we will be able to ask

Siri for several requests, one after another, without having to reactivate it every time we want to ask for something. Of course, it is also limited to English and in the countries that I have just mentioned. And you will say, then what improvements do we have in Siri those who use the iPhone in Spanish? Well, I’m sorry to tell you that none. The health app now has a slight wash of face in its interface, especially in the upper part. And inside we also find a new field dedicated to mental health. From this we can register how

we feel to be able to make a control of our evolution over time. We also have a new feature to take care of our eye health. This is within the time settings and allows the iPhone to notify us when it detects that we have been with the iPhone very close to the eyes for a long time. We are now going to review some of the changes that we find within the accessibility settings. One of them is personal voice, a function that allows the iPhone to record your voice and use it to read text out loud

through the device’s speakers or during calls. When you give it to create a voice, it already warns you that you will have to read a series of sentences for 15 minutes. That is, it is a slightly long process. In the voiceover section we can activate the detection mode that, using the magnifying glass, allows us to interact with text that we point with the finger or the one that automatically detects the camera. It also detects close people, doors and even describes the scene and people who detect the camera. The assisted access option was also added, which,

after a previous configuration, allows us to be able to visualize the system’s apps in a simplified way to facilitate their use, mainly to people with vision problems. It’s safari’s turn, an app that has a few interesting news and to which we dedicated a video a few weeks ago and that I will leave you in the description so that you can see it, since there I analyze in more detail everything new. Here I am going to make a quick summary so as not to lengthen this video even more. For example, Safari now allows us to create

profiles with which we can customize the markers, the history and the extensions when we select them in the app. In the video we made, I explain how I use them and all the potential they have. The search in Safari now shows us easier to read and more relevant suggestions. For example, if I put Real Madrid, it automatically puts me the result of the last game. Another function that they have added is the blocking of private navigation when we are not using it. So when someone wants to access this, they must use the Face ID. Finally,

when we are browsing a website, if we click on the options in the address bar, now you will see the function that allows you to listen to the page reading. If you click on it, Siri will start reading all the content. I really love this. And since we are talking about searches, the Spotlight has also improved, showing a new design for many results. For example, if we look for Fernando Alonso, the result will be shown with a dark background since it takes the color of the photo as a reference. In this case, a photo of

Fernando with a black background. The same thing happens with apps. For example, if I put Bulería David Bisbal, it shows me the result belonging to the music app with its characteristic color. Or if I put El Tiempo, it shows me the result with the background corresponding to the forecast of the app at that time. Also, when looking for an app with Spotlight, the best results are shown accompanied by different shortcuts. For example, when you look for the photo app, you can open the favorite album directly from the Spotlight. Also now the Spotlight is proactive and

allows you to run direct access to system functions. For example, if I set a certain time in this, it already suggests me to create an event in the calendar that starts at that time, being able to start the action from here without having to get into the application. I also dedicated a dedicated video to the app of reminders a few weeks ago, which I will also leave you in the description, so that you can learn to get the most out of all its functions, including the new ones with iOS 17, and which I will summarize

below. A functionality to which you will be able to get a lot out of iOS 17 are the new shopping lists. If we add a list or edit an existing one, and in the list type we choose buy, it will automatically start ordering all the elements that we add by categories. For example, I have created a shopping list called supermarket. If I add different foods, you will see how these are placed in categorized lists automatically. We can also change the view of the reminders to group them by sections or visualize them as columns, something that

can be useful to you if you have many elements within a certain list and you have several sections created. The Search app now allows us to share our search tag with an acquaintance. In this way, that person will also be able to locate it from their search app. This is ideal if you use it to track an object that you have in common. The app Casa now has a new interface to adjust the color of the compatible lights. Now we can slide our finger through a bar full of circles with pre-selected adjustments that will allow

us to adjust the tone and intensity of the color. Also from the control center we will have access to this new color selection mode. I think this is great. And now we go with some novelties that we find within the iPhone settings. For example, if we go to the storage settings, we will see a couple of changes. The first is in the upper bar. Now we will see in the center of it the remaining In my case, you can see that I have more than 900 GB free. And another change in this section is in

the menu that they have placed above the list of apps that allows us to filter by applications that are taking up more space, by alphabetical mode or by date of use. Putting above all those that we have used more recently. We continue. Now we go to the control center settings. And here we can see how in iOS 17 a new button has been added, which is to make Apple Watch sound. If we add it to our control center and press it, our Apple Watch will start to sound so that we can easily locate it in

case we do not know where we have left it. We go to the camera app settings. And be careful because there is one that needed it like water in May. If we go to the record video menu and go down to the end, you will see that they have added the option to block the white balance. This was one of the most common faults of the iPhone, especially when we record videos indoors with lights that are not entirely professional and that ended up going crazy the white balance in the videos. And to finish the review

of the new settings, I must tell you something. We have new call tones. We simply go to the sound and vibration settings and we choose the one we like the most. Even the default one, the classic iOS, has been updated and now it sounds like this. So you know, if you are curious to see what these new call tones are like, listen to them once you update. If I put one by one here, the video gets even longer. Come on, it’s not being long in itself. The App Store does not have great changes, but there

is one that is to be thanked. When you are going to download an app or a game that has a considerable size, the download progress icon will also tell you the remaining time for the download to be completed. An addition that you will be with me is more than welcome to see in a more exact way what is left for it to finish downloading. Especially this will be very useful in games. I understand that many of you will know that the recognition of Shazam songs is integrated within iOS, both in the control center and with

Siri. Well, now with iOS 17, the animation when it recognizes the song that is playing looks this way, much more visual and attractive than what we had until now. Let’s go with the time app, which, as soon as you open it in iOS 17, has added a text that says my location, which I do not know very well why they have put it, but hey, there it is. If we go down a bit, we also see new measures with iOS 17, such as the average temperature. From this section we will be able to compare the

current values with respect to previous months in the form of graphics and a summary that the app makes. This way we can see much better the evolution of temperatures and rainfall with the passage of time. Another measure that is shown differently is the wind, which now shows us much better the speed, the streaks and the direction of this. And finally, a graph has also been added that shows us the state of the current moon and even warns us when the next full moon will be. If we click on this part, we can see many more

data for those who are interested. Apple also announced the new diary application, which is not available at the moment, but on their website they specify that it will be at the end of the year. With this app we will be able to record our moments of each day thanks to proactive suggestions that the device itself will make depending on the use we make of it. When the application comes out, of course, we will make the corresponding video. Okay, it’s time to talk about performance and battery, two very important aspects for many, and it is not

for less after what I have seen with iOS 16. I did a Givens test on iOS 16.6.1 before updating my iPhone 14 Pro Max and the score was 2,561 points in single-core and 6,683 points in multi -core. A very good and understandable score if we take into account that iOS 16.6.1 is already a more than optimized version. Well, in iOS 17 Release Candidate, which is the version on which we are recording this review and that will probably be the same that comes out in a few hours, this was the score. 2,647 points in single-core and

6,866 points in multi-core. That is, iOS 17 in its first version is able to get more performance from the processor in all kinds of tasks. Specifically, it has obtained 86 more points in single-core and 183 more points in multi -core. And be careful because this is not normal, I say it from experience, that I have been analyzing iOS versions for a few years. Well, normally the new versions that come out in September are not usually as optimized as the final versions of the previous version. In this case it would be iOS 16.6.1, so it is

good news to know that Apple has taken optimization seriously in its latest beta. And what about the battery? Well, this capture of my settings that you are seeing is the battery that I had with my iPhone 14 Pro Max during the week prior to updating to iOS 17. That is, an average of about 11 hours of use per day with a consumption of about 70%. I repeat this with iOS 16.6.1. Okay, now let’s go with iOS 17. I updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max on Sunday last week and since then to today this has been

the consumption that I have been having with iOS 17. The first days are collected with beta 8 and from Tuesday to today with the release candidate I am recording this video on Thursday, the 14th, so it is possible that the last days before this video are missing, mainly on the weekend. But well, as you can see, on Monday my consumption skyrocketed in a worrying way and then stabilized, but being something higher than what I had with iOS 16. For example, on Tuesday I had a consumption of 80% with about 11 hours of use, on Wednesday

with about 9 hours of use I practically reached 80% consumption and today it is not going very badly in what I wear during the day. I think the most prudent thing is to wait a few more days to see if these feelings are confirmed, but I can tell you that in any case the difference will not be very big with iOS 16. Well, that would be it, a fairly continuous update with respect to iOS 16 and of which I did not like that some of the most interesting improvements are reserved for users who have the

iPhone in English, functions related to the keyboard, Siri, etc. In order not to make the video longer, I have not wanted to delve into some visual changes or functionalities that are not yet available, but that would be added, of course, to everything I have told you in this video. I am going to leave you now a playlist where you will be able to see absolutely everything about iOS 17 and where I comment on those minor changes, as well as the evolution of the performance that each beta has had during these last months until this final

version, which today is going to be released for everyone. And if you are not subscribed to the channel, I encourage you to do so, because tomorrow we are going to publish the review of WatchOS 10, a review that will interest you because WatchOS 10, uff, looks good. Anyway, friends, until then, you know, we are the Bitten Apple and we promise to do it. Ciao! WatchOS 10 Overview www.overwatchos.com
