Rudy Giuliani, in court filing, 'does not contest' he made defamatory and false statements about Geo

Well, all new tonight, Rudy Giuliani no longer contesting claims that he made false accusations against 2 Fulton County election workers stemming from the 2020 election. Here’s digital investigative reporter Nick Wooten with the latest. Donald Trump’s former attorney is not admitting that the statements he made about mother daughter duo Ruby Freeman and Shay Moss are faults. He’s just not contesting accusations the election workers made against him in a defamation lawsuit filed in Washington, DC and it only applies to this case. Freeman and Moss faced death threats after Giuliani accused them of election fraud and mishandling ballots

as votes were counted at Atlanta State Farm Arena during the 2020 election. Georgia election officials debunked the claims quickly, but Giuliani doubled down on the fraud allegations. Today, a spokesman for Giuliani told 11 Alive that he did not acknowledge the statements were false, but did not contest it in order to move on to a portion of the case that will permit a motion to dismiss. Now, several Atlanta attorneys I spoke with say this is a rare legal move typically used in criminal cases, not civil Moss and Freeman sued Giuliani to clear their names, alleging that

Giuliani besmirched their reputations. The state election board officially cleared Moss and Freeman of wrongdoing last month. The developments come as Giuliani could

be indicted. In Fulton County’s 2020 election investigation, Fulton DA Fonnie Willis said indictments will likely come between July 31st and August 18th. For more information, visit 11alive.com.
