In this video, I will do unboxing and review of 2 figures from
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series
This is one of Banpresto figure line, Espresto
The 2 figures are Shizu, The Conqueror of Flames and Rimuru Tempest
These are my first Espresto figure purchase, let’s just go to the unboxing!
First, I’m going to start with Shizu’s figure
So for those who are unfamiliar, these 2 characters are from
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series or TenSura for short
This series is an Isekai type
Rimuru Tempest is the main character in the series and also
you can say that Shizu is an important character in the series
To prevent any spoilers, I won’t talk much about their stories in the series
This is the first time that I’ve purchased any Espresto figure,
which is part of Banpresto line as well
Before I bought these 2 figures, I didn’t really researched a lot into it (specification-wise) so I’m a bit surprised to see the size is quite big
Let’s just check out the figure straight away, starting from the head part
For this Shizu figure, I really like her pose
and from the pictures
After I unbox the figure, as you can see here the sculpting is good
and the painting for this figure also looks good
Also the size is quite big (compared to normal Banpresto prize figure),
so it’s quite worth it to purchase this figure when looking at the price
What’s interesting from this Shizu figure for me is her flaming sword
Not only that I’m surprised with the size of the figure overall, but her flaming sword is quite big and looks good
It’s one of the big factor that makes this figure looks really cool for me
This is her cape
For this figure, I think it’s a pity that the base looks quite generic considering the fact that the figure itself looks good and really stands out
This is the sword scabbard
This is the flaming sword that I mentioned before
Because Shizu has fire affinity, the sword got flame on it
I think it looks cool, consider the size of the figure and the price that comes with it, this flaming sword is really good in my opinion
This is the stand which will be used to support the hand and the sword
This is a part for her base, it’s the slime Rimuru
It looks very generic, as I’ve mentioned before the base looked quite basic
The color of the base is blue, as the color of the slime, Rimuru is blue
Now I’m going to start assembling the figure
Because the figure itself got several parts on it,
I started with the lower part and the torso part first
For most Banpresto figure, assembling the figure is relatively easy. Just need to attach the parts missing from the figure, quite self-explanatory
Before I attach the head part, I need to place the cape first
The cape itself is quite firm, made from the same material as the figure.
I think the cape looks good as well
So overall, even though I originally wanted to purchase Rimuru only..then I look at the pictures for this figure and interested to purchase it as well
Also I didn’t expect the size of the figure as well, but this figure turns out to be one of my favorites Banpresto figure that I owned
Even though I’m quite surprised with the size of the figure, after I unbox it I feel really glad that I’ve purchased this Shizu figure
I’m done assembling the figure (minus the sword)
and now I’m going to assemble the base next
I’ll attach this Rimuru part to the base
It’s quite easy to place this part
This is the stand part and you can place it like this
Now I’m going to attach Shizu’s figure to the base
So when I placed the figure to the base, I ended up knocking off the stand while doing it so maybe you can place the figure first before the stand
To attach Shizu to the base is quite easy as you can see
As I knocked it off before, I’m going to place the stand again here
As for the sword, it’s also quite easy to place it as you can see here
But I’ve placed the stand in the wrong direction, because you can see the hook part of the stand, it supposed to support the handle of the sword
I’ll fix the position after this
It supposed to be like this, the stand support the hand and also the sword
So the sword’s pose also looks cool and I’m done assembling this figure!
Next is the figure of the main protagonist of this series, Rimuru Tempest
For this Rimuru figure, I actually have been wanting
to purchase this figure for quite a while now
I really like the effect that comes with the figure and I also like his character from the series, maybe because he is OP too LOL
But I’m not going to talk about of his skills
Aside from the effect that looks cool, I also think the base looks good.
I would say the base for Rimuru looked better compared to Shizu
Let’s take a closer look at the figure now
Because Shizu have her mask on so we can’t see her face but we can see Rimuru’s face here and I think the sculpting of his face looks quite good
This is the spot to place one of the effects in his arm
For Rimuru, it has been announced not too long ago
from Good Smile Company, the figma figure of Rimuru
I’m also going to pre-order the figma figure because it looks good
The release date is quite long, I’ll make a video of it once I received it
This is his sword, his right hand is attached with the sword here
You can see here that the sculpting of the sword looks quite good
These are the effect parts, there are 4 of it
I also think that the effects look good
I think the effects looks are quite glossy
To place these effects into the figure is also quite easy,
you can see it later on when I assemble the figure
This is the base of the figure
For Rimuru’s figure base, I would say it looks better compared to Shizu
The rocks texture are quite good and
it’s very suitable with the pose of this Rimuru figure
For the base, I prefer Rimuru more than Shizu
Now I’m going to start assembling the figure, starting from the hand part
His figure is more simple because as you can see, the only separated part of his figure is only his right hand that is attached to the sword
Then you just attach the figure to the base like this
so maybe overall assembling this figure is more simple
But because Rimuru got these effects to attach so maybe the time it takes to assemble both figures are quite similar
Now I’m going to place the effects, starting from this one on the front
As I’ve mentioned before, it is quite easy to attach these effects and the spots on the figure and the base to place the effects are easy to see
So even though there is no instruction that come with this figure, I don’t think you’ll have a hard time in placing these effects
This one is located on his right leg, as you can see here
Just like that
For the last effect, the spot is located on his left leg
The spots are quite clear to see but if you confused you can always check the box to see the direction of the effects are facing as well
Just like that and I’m done assembling Rimuru’s figure!
This is the size comparison with other figures
As you can see, even with Ichiban Kuji Rengoku which I think it’s quite large for Banpresto prize figure, the size are similar-looking
This is with Grandista All Might, both figures looked smaller
compared to the Grandista All Might figure
This is with ARTFX J Eijiro Kirishima, I would say the height for the Shizu’s figure are quite similar with this ARTFX J
This is with figma Mumei
Lastly it’s with my Nendoroid Bloodborne The Hunter
Now I’m going to start with my review, starting with Shizu
For this Shizu figure, the sculpting and the painting are good,
the figure also resembles her character in the series
What I think is really good with this figure is the part that comes with it,
which is the flaming sword that I think looks really good
Overall I’m satisfied with this Shizu figure
As for Rimuru I think the sculpting, the painting and his outfit are all good, the figure also have good similarity with his character in the series
The 4 effect parts that come with the figure are quite good
and it makes the figure looks really cool
The base also looks good, it looks better compared to Shizu’s
Overall I’m satisfied with this Rimuru figure as well
and I really recommend these 2 figures
