There can be many reasons. Sometimes it is overconfidence, sometimes it is lack of preparation, sometimes it is just pressure. And sometimes, if you are playing out of home, then there can be issues because of that too. The team can underperform and choke. That is the
analogy I remembered while watching Tejas If you see on paper storyline, direction – then this picture is super duper hit even Pathaan may lose out if you consider on paper strength I was taking notes while watching the movie. I will count it for you…. There is nationalism, there is Pakistan, there are bad Muslims, there is Ayodhya Ram Mandir too There is Make in India, Surgical Strike, Pakistan Air Force, Feminism, Soldiers on the Border, 26/11. All of these themes are in one movie, Tejas starring Kangana Ranaut. Then where does the problem come? The problem is that
when you sit to watch this movie and you get so much… N ationalistic sentiment that should develop while watching does not emerge because the film
to fulfill a demand of an audience. And in the last two years, we have seen a lot. The audience wants us vs them. The audience wants nationalism. And the movie was made to serve this. Agenda is clear. Agenda number 1 – Make Kangana’s image more glamorous and larger than life In attempt to shine her image, few days before, Kangana reached Ramlila maidan but while shooting arrow from bow situation was just like this movie Then reached Israel embassy … amid war you go and promote a movie in the middle of a war. So much has to
be done for publicity and politics But the film does not shine as much as Kangana’s presence is overpowering – she cannot carry the film on her shoulders Second agenda is this film is about nationalism, making the audience cry, making them sentimental and earn You remember Kerala Story, right? As a matter of fact, we had made an episode on this as well. If you look at the last two years, 2022 and 2023…. ….you will see that the three movies of 2022 and 2023 each, which are the most profitable, I am talking about the return of Investment,
those movies had religion, nationalism or us versus them and this film was made along the same line But is this formula outdated? Like it happened with Adipurush, and with Akshay movies that promote excessive nationalism – this formula is going down Tejas was trapped in this formula. It was made at the time when this formula was in force. But maybe now this formula is not in force. But this doesn’t mean that this film doesn’t work. There are many things that work. Even Dhinchak Pooja can do well Will Kangana go viral after this film or will flop

very good at one time. But that time is over now. You can see this in Tejas. Overburdened, unexpressive, same emotions. It seems like she is going to explode in the film. That she is going to explode on her seniors, she is going to explode on Pakistan. It seems that way by her expressions. So can we say it without getting trolled or cancelled that there was a time when she was a great actress, but no more. moved forward, our fighter aircrafts have moved forward, but our cinematography has remained somewhere behind And I think the most disappointing angle of this film is that it takes the audience for granted. The idea of this film was very good. India’s woman fighter pilot, India’s maverick, India’s Tom Cruise but a woman not a man. Very good idea. But what Adipurush did about religion – that one will make a bad movie, in the name of Jai Shree Ram, and that will make money The same thought process is used in this movie. Where the idea was of nationalism,
idea was to show Pakistan’s terrorism, where Kangana is stopping attack on Ram Mandir And that is the climax of this movie. It is a very well-thought-out climax. On one hand, there is a fight with terrorists in Ayodhya, and on the other, there is a dogfight in Pakistan airspace. We teach Pakistan a lesson. But it has been executed in such a disgusting way that you will see better animation than that in a video game. Again, like Adipurush the audience is taken for granted. It is assumed whatever is served in the name of nationalism will be consumed
End of the thing – The film has nationalism, soldiers on the border, Pakistan, us versus them, Ram mandir, Ayodhya, terror attack – so picture can be a hit But as we have seen in recent movies, like Adipurush or Akshay or Kangana’s movies, people are getting tired of the formula The formula is old like siblings separated at a fair, or rich girl marrying poor guy The formula of exploiting religion and nationalism … Maybe people are starting to see the truth.
