ADDIO a TIK TOK: il BAN Dell'Applicazione Sta Per Arrivare.

More and more countries are banning the use of tiktok on their citizens’ devices. The UK and New Zealand are just the latest in an ever-growing list of nations that have decided to implement these measures. At the moment it is the current situation with the United States that is capturing the attention of the media worldwide. But what is the real reason that is pushing so many countries to ban the use of this application? Is there something dark that threatens the security and privacy of our data? News regarding the clash between tiktok and world governments is absolutely

nothing new in 2023. Already in 2020 guys, India decided to ban this application along with dozens of other products from China. Do you think that in the same period there was a lot of talk about a decision by former President Donald Trump who at that time ardently desired the ban of this application on United States soil. Provision that never managed to conclude thanks to the arrival of Joe Biden who stole his chair as president. Yet it is precisely the current president Joe biden who is threatening the presence of tiktok in stores across America these days

. So far several countries including the European Union and the United States have already decided to ban the application for all those working within government bodies. The concern

concerns national security: it is in fact known that the sensitive data of prominent people and of a certain level must be kept absolutely under lock and key to avoid any kind of problem. You must know guys that Tik Tok collects a lot of data from the devices on which it is installed. Data such as IP address, telephone operator, operating system. It even recognizes which applications are installed on

our mobile phones and all biometric data such as our face and our voice. The fundamental concern of the various governments is that this data collected by tiktok could somehow leak and reach the Chinese government. And this is the motivation that is driving many countries to ban this application on their territory. But right now guys As you may have seen on the Tik Tok home page, because they are really depopulating a lot of videos: the United States is threatening to completely BAN this application if its owners don’t sell all their shares. The situation guys looks really

disastrous: As you have surely seen from the videos that are circulating on the net, the current CEO of tiktok Shou has participated in several hearings with the United States congress and the questions that guys have asked him are really embarrassing … It seemed that the congress participants had no idea what they were asking. Moreover, it is one of the first times in the history of American governments that the two factions that usually battle each other during political lessons are teaming up to achieve a common goal. But what is the truth? Does Tiktok really pose a

threat to our security or not? That the application collects a very large number of data is a certainty. After all, the privacy policy is clear: Tik Tok openly admits to collecting a wide range of data including the IP address and information entered on the app or third-party applications partner of Tik Tok. Tik Tok is able to collect information about its users even when the application is NOT actively used and this raises several Concerns regarding user privacy as the information collected by Tik Tok could be used for commercial purposes and in some cases even shared with

unauthorized third parties. I honestly wouldn’t be happy if my face was sold and spammed by companies whose origin I don’t even know… However, the real concern of world governments is the possible connection between the application and the Chinese government which I remind you is considered a effectively a cybersecurity risk from the United States. (and not only). But to understand how they really are things we have to take a look at the origins of Tik Tok. In 2016 the first Chinese version of Douyin’s Tik Tok launched by a Chinese company named ByteDance. In a short time

this app became extremely popular and in the same year it was launched globally under the name of tiktok. The extraordinary success of this app can be traced back to the algorithm carefully studied in order to create ADDICTION in its users. Unlike other social networks, we don’t have to manually search for the contents of our interest, Tik Tok is in fact able to automatically offer us videos based on our interests and that’s not all! The algorithm becomes more and more precise but as we interact with the videos, we like, share or comment. Basically, guys, this application

is able to build a graph of our interests based on how long we stay watching a certain type of video before scrolling and moving on. Other companies like YouTube take a similar approach with their vertical format content like shorts, but Tik Tok stands out from other apps because the vast majority of their content is short videos which means the average user watches a lot more. in one session. This allows Tik Tok to collect a lot of data on its users and the algorithm to work better: the more information it has about you, the more precise

it will be in suggesting a certain type of content. If you think about it, even the choice to offer only short videos is not accidental. In fact, it exploits our primal instincts such as instant gratification and constant stimulation. So it’s as if our brain is constantly bombarded with what we love and therefore feels content, enters an addiction loop and keeps scrolling endlessly. China itself ran for cover and from 2021 introduced a so-called “safe” mode for this application which limits the use of the app to just 40 minutes a day. Even the contents proposed by the

guys are completely different. With this measure we try to prevent young people from encountering videos of a certain type but focusing on scientific curiosities and educational content. And so this Guys is important because we understood that there is a DIFFERENT version of tiktok in China than we have here in Europe. Globally, the points of contact between Tik Tok Global and Tik Tok China of these two applications are extremely limited. For example, the team that manages the global version of tiktok is based in Los Angeles and is completely separate from the Byte Dance division which is

located in China. Despite this, the concerns of the United States are still present. Do you think that the CEO of Tik Tok has proposed the Texas project, a program that provides for the retention of data no longer on Chinese territory but on US territory. Dear Shou is trying in every way to convince the United States that the data of its citizens are safe but despite this the congress seems not to be convinced: the United States are really hard-headed guys. The Democratic Party boss has even gone so far as to believe that the Beijing government will

have the ability to influence the app as long as it is owned by a Chinese company so Americans are afraid that the Chinese government is manipulating Tik Tok to harvest sensitive information of American citizens. A distrust that appears justified because the application in the past has certainly not been exemplary with regard to the treatment and privacy of its users’ data. In fact, consider that last year Tik Tok tried to bypass all Apple and Google security protocols with the sole purpose of collecting more data from its users. In August 2022 Forbes found that hundreds of Tik

Tok employees had previously worked for Chinese media… And coincidentally after Forbes published this article it seems that Tik Tok started spying on Forbes journalists in order to identify their sources. Attention guys, Tik Tok has not denied these allegations but only has stated that these were stand-alone initiatives that do not reflect the company’s objectives. In short, the actual link between the Chinese government and Tik Tok is still not clear today and many are afraid that if the Chinese government were to ask Tik Tok to give it the data it has collected (given that in China the

political situation is not it’s just roses and flowers) they would have no choice but to agree to these requests. So the fear is there and it is concrete. Although the CEO has assured several times that it is the main purpose of the company to protect the data and information of its users, today the collection of its users’ data is one of the main sources of profit for most web applications. The concern about how much and what data is collected is still particularly felt. However, Tik Tok’s privacy policy reveals to us that the App collects huge

amounts of data from our devices, even much more than what Google does and some argue that those are only the data we know about while much more unfortunately it is kept hidden from us . While today the future of Tik Tok is still uncertain, I invite you to reflect on how important it is to be informed and aware of everything you do on the internet: when you voluntarily decide to use a service or an application, always inform yourself about what you are giving exchange to use these tools… it’s up to you whether it’s a fair

exchange or not. Don’t forget to leave a nice like and subscribe to this channel to support all my work and the production of this content! Having said that, your engineer greets you and I’ll give you an appointment for a next video
