Fears of Violence in U.S. as Israel War Continues, Trump, Liz Cheney, Firearms & Homicide

The case asks the rising concerns about U.S. violence amid the war in Israel. The Advocate Channel’s Laura Aguirre has more. and prominent Jewish community member, was found fatally stabbed outside her Detroit home Saturday. Detroit police gave an update on their investigation Monday. We have a number of people that give us interests. We are just short of calling one of the people a suspect. As of now, police say there is no evidence anti-Semitism was the motive. Still, national security officials are voicing concerns that the escalating war between Israel and Hamas could spur increased violence in the U.S.. We remain very concerned about the lone wolf incited to violence by an ideology of hate. Near Chicago, the mother
of a six year old boy stabbed to death last week is herself now home from the hospital, recovering from her knife wounds. The
interference case was never his attorney. Trump was talking about Sidney Powell. She pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor charges related to the interference case, and she has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. That includes testifying against the other co-defendants in the case, which includes Trump. Former Republican lawmaker Liz Cheney is tying the chaos of electing a new speaker of the House to former President Trump. Frustrations and divisions have intensified within the GOP caucus. Over the weekend, Cheney said the situation is the direct result of Republicans who supported and continue to support Trump’s assault on democracy. We’ve seen
is a result of really the leadership decisions that Kevin McCarthy made all the way back after the 2020 election and certainly after January six. And, you know, looking the other way in the face of the kind of assault on our democracy that we’ve seen from Donald Trump and his allies in the House, including Jim Jordan, elevating those members, frankly, some of whom are white supremacists, some of whom are anti-Semitic, a number of whom were involved directly in the attempt to seize power and overturn the elections. Cheney also warned against the second term for Trump, saying,
quote, He cannot be the next president if he is all of the things that he attempted to do but was stopped from doing by responsible people around him at the Department of Justice. At the White House Counsel office. He will do. After years of increases, the rate of firearm related homicides in the US decreased slightly in 2022. That’s according to new data from the CDC. This is the first time the national firearm homicide rate has fallen since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic. Between 2019 and 2020, the overall firearm homicide rate increased about 35%,
