Former NFL player, West Rowan football star Chris Smith dies at 31
Trisha, thank you New overnight Charlotte Bourne NFL player Chris Smith has died. His alma mater W Rowan High School tweeting out saying the 31 year old Salisbury native passed away. Smith graduated from West Rowan High School in 2010 and was a star defensive end on the team. He went on to start all four years at the University of Arkansas. After college, Smith played on many pro teams but ended his NFL career back home with the Panthers in 2021. His cause of death? Is unknown at this time.
