hi welcome to our channel in this video i will be sharing a review of the invitation spoilers alert so let’s begin cross jane austen’s tendencies with bram stokers and you get a surprisingly scary and funny new gothic horror flick the invitation the movie took me by surprise my expectations were low going into the theater late august through september is often a studio dumping ground for hard-to-sell films when i went to the movies my best hope was that i wouldn’t fall asleep halfway through the movie i shouldn’t have worried the invitation was one of the most
surprising and fun trips to the theater this summer for me don’t get me wrong directed by jessica m thompson from a script by her and blair butler the film revolves around the of told b series plot however the film’s execution and production values come first in my book thompson and her cinematographer autumn eakin work together to create a beautifully staged and shot film that offers what appear to be a production values even if the film is dense the film is brilliantly crafted in its darkness and is glorious to enjoy despite its foreboding doom that plays
out in the film’s opening scene spoilers alert unfortunately the trailer gave away the film’s big reveal the story starts out as a romance but
do natalie emanuel plays the attractive and likable heroine evie whose awkwardness and distress almost immediately turn the audience on her side she is young talented and alone after the death of her mother her father died when she was 14 years old desperate for a family connection she browses an online genealogy website that links her to family in england almost immediately a cousin connects with her and invites her to a family wedding in england while visiting new york the situation certainly seems cruel to her but she cares enough to not turn down an all-expense-paid trip to
england to reunite with her family arriving at her host walters thomas doherty mansion new carfax abbey dracula fans will get the link things quickly get weird evie discovers that she is the lone woman left in her family which is populated by a bunch of stuffy british cousins he thinks nothing of it but reality will come into play later however strange things begin to happen to evie in and around the mansion but the charming yet mysterious walt eases her fears and comforts her one night before she knows it the two are in a relationship after a
night together walt seemingly jokingly asks evie to marry him and she obliges by jokingly accepting but walt isn’t kidding he plans to make evie toothy like him and add her to his collection of vampire brides victoria stephanie cornelussen and lucy alana bowden with four families united in unholy marriage the power of the vampire clan will once again be complete all walt and his two other brides have to do is mix their blood with evie’s things are looking dark for evie that’s all for now folks if you think this video helpful then please like and share
