US diplomats evacuated from Sudan
with Memphis. We’re live with the highlights and fan reaction. Good evening. I’m Susan here with SUNA Christina Pascucci has the night off breaking news from Sudan. American diplomats at the U. S Embassy have been evacuated , blame escalating violence in the region. U. S forces airlifted some 70 Americans from Sudan’s capital. The evacuees are said to be headed to an undisclosed location in Ethiopia. Meantime 16,000 other Americans remain in Sudan, U. S officials say there are no plans to evacuate them. They called the situation too dangerous. The fighting is between two rival factions of Sudan’s
military. Hundreds have been killed since fighting broke out last week.
