Marvin Harrison Jr. postgame interview | Michigan State-Ohio State

Yeah, we’re gonna, and, uh, I’m gonna, I’m gonna go ahead and ask, uh, Sonny Styles and Cody Simon to move to the back couple tables, so anyone wants to talk with them, they can head back there. Otherwise we’re gonna open up the floor to the front here for Marvin Harrison junior over to the right Austin Ward, the podcast. You too nervous for the podium over here on your right. You don’t want the podium, you want? No, I look much rather my spot in the back there. You got it. I mean, aren’t you used to the

spotlight by now getting there, getting there. Which of the three touchdowns was your favorite? The rushing one, I think. Um, we, we’ve called that play, I think three times in my career so far and I’ve came up a short, uh, the other two times and I, you know, I finally got an end zone this time and that was my first ring touchdown of my career. So that’s definitely gonna a special one for me, Marvin over to the left. We got Cameron Teague Robinson from the athletic Ryan. You, you, I mean, sorry, Marvin, you mentioned the

Russians are, sounded, it seems like as the year gone on teams, W triple U bracket, you, Ryan has done a good job of finding creative ways to get you

the ball in space. How much have you grown, um, in your versatility and whether you’re coming around on or verse kind of offset as a th how have you enjoyed, enjoyed that versatility? Well, it’s definitely been, uh, great. I learned a lot. Um, you know, spring ball, I got to play slot pretty much the whole spring uh with the Mecca being out. And, um, so just uh

enhancing my game as much as I can. Uh I think, you know, last year, I, I was just, you know, kind of an outside guy. Um And now, you know, I think, um this year I’m showcasing more of my ability, uh and I can do many things on the field. So, uh like you said, credit to Coach Day, uh he’s done a tremendous job. He gave me the ball. Um So all thanks to him, really over to the right. Uh Dylan Davis, Delaware, is that my review? I been to New York in December. What did

you say before? Uh close to December? But no, not in December. I know that you don’t set out to try to go win the Heisman trophy, but it’s a realistic thing right now. You’re in the talk of, is it something that like, at least in the, you want to do it in your head at all in the off season. Like, hey, I like to, won a Heisman trophy or is it so far removed that it’s just not, no, I mean, and also that wasn’t in my, in my head at all. I just want to be

tt on North and go to the big 10 championship. I mean, I’ve kind of been saying that all year, so those are the two goals I’ve had, uh, you know, before the season even started. And, uh, you know, I’m thankful to even be in the conversation. Um, but, you know, there’s a lot of football left to be played and I’m just trying to do my best to help the team win, uh, uh over to the left. Dan Hope 11 Warriors. Marvin. Do you feel like the connection between you and Kyle is getting stronger and stronger

here as you go week by week? Yes, definitely. Um I know we, you know, we played each other with each other in high school, but it is totally different in college. Uh We just, uh the, the players are better. Uh The schemes are different. So, and we’re still trying to adjust and, uh I know we have, I think it was 10 games now. Uh we’re still developing in chemistry and, uh just giving each other different looks, you know, in practice and trying to be on the same page as much as we can. So, um, you

know, it’s def, it’s been great though. Uh, it’s definitely been, you know, super exciting. I’m playing with him again and, uh, if you see our, uh, connection on the field o over here to the right, Tim May, the Tim May show and on three Marvin, a lot of receivers have come through Ohio State. You’re the first guy to ever have 2, 1000 yard receiving seasons. What does that mean to you? I mean, I, I know you’re paying attention a little bit to that, but what does it mean to you already have a legacy like that?

Um I don’t know that that’s crazy. Um You know, all praise and glory to God. Uh You know, he’s blessed me a lot with a lot of different gifts and, you know, each, every day, each and every day, I just try to honor those gifts, you know, I put as much work as I can and uh he blessed me to be able to, you know, accomplish defeat like that and to be the first ever to do something in the house of history, especially as a receiver. Um You know, how many great receivers have come through

this place? Uh and that, that means a lot and um like I said, I’m just super blessed, uh right behind Tim Jeff Gilbert press pros, uh the fast start tonight. You guys have been talking about wanting to do that. What did that feel like in the huddle sideline all through that first half. Just score, score, score. Yeah, I, I don’t know. Correct. I think we scored on fifth, five of the six tries in the first half. Uh That’s what we need to do. Um I think it starts with scoring points in the red zone. That

was big. Uh We can’t settle for field goals in that area. So, um when you score touchdowns and not field goals, I think that’s definitely the fastest I ever talking about. What was the, was it more exciting doing that? What did it feel like on the sideline? Um I mean, no, it’s kind of been the model all year that we went to a fast start and, um, unfortunately, we haven’t been able to do that. Uh, today we did, uh o over, over here to the right Bill Rabinowitz, Columbus dispatch, a primetime game. You, you played

the way you did today. I asked you a couple of weeks ago about the Heisman probably punch your ticket for sure. How, how meaningful is that to you at this point? Um, not meaningful, uh, too much. Uh, I, you know, very thankful and I’m blessed to be in a conversation. Uh, but now we still have, you know, two games left in the regular season and hopefully one, in a big 10 championship and that’s kind of my goal year, um, is to do those two things with the t in North and win a big 10 championship.

So, um, you know, whatever happens in December happens in December, but right now I’m just obviously focusing on, um, the corrections that we need to make from this game. And then moving on to Minnesota and final question for Marvin Laurie Schmidt, Columbus dispatch, Marvin Ryan said that he cut back on practices this week. Was it noticeable? And if so, how much did it help? I mean, I imagine it’s that time of year where you’re starting to feel it. Yeah, week 10, uh that helped tremendously. Um I think not just me but many other players dealing

with some injuries, uh you know, trying to battle it out and um throughout the whole week, we’re trying to, you know, get as healthy as we can for Saturdays because, you know, obviously Saturday is the most important. So, um you know, for him to do that for us and I think uh it’s for us to perform the way we did, it shows our maturity as a team shows the confidence and trusting he has in us to go out there and still execute at a high level. Uh e even come backs and reps at practice. So

hopefully we continue to do that. Uh But obviously Saturdays need to go the way, you know, today to, to get for, to happen, Marvin. Thank you very much. Thank you guys. Appreciate it.
