Tuesday 6/20 5 AM: Bret forecasted to become a hurricane and impact Caribbean
Our Alex thinks really heating up there in the tropics that’s right why tropical storm Brett formed yesterday a rather quickly we had tropical depression three and then Brett and the next advisory winds at about 40 miles an hour. The 5:00 AM advisory is in continuing to move towards the West now at about 17 miles an hour. So it’s way out there in the Atlantic several 100 miles away from us here in Central Georgia. But it is forecasted to move into the Caribbean as we work our way through the weekend and into next week. So over
the course of the next several days continuing to strengthen to category one hurricane status. That’s the plan from the National Hurricane Center, then crosses the Lesser Antilles into the Caribbean. What it does that the wind shear is going to be strengthened a bit, which means it’s going to be pushing on the storm a bit more, weakening it down to about a 65 mile an hour tropical storm and then sixty mile an hour tropical storm on Sunday. But then from there, the question is where does it go? Well, the models have really come to a consensus
in the past 12 hours or so. And the fact that yes, it’s going to go into the Caribbean. You might remember yesterday I tried to
a hurricane in the next few days. Even though it’s going to do that, it’s not going to be a hurricane for long. There’s an uncertainty in how much of A northward turn it ends up making. Once it does get its way into the Caribbean, though, it will be back to tropical storm status. So just a reminder that of course, June, we are now in hurricane season. We’ll be monitoring the latest. There’s another wave back behind it, which we are watching. Personally as well.
