Author Cormac McCarthy dead at 89
Also breaking at 4, Knoxville native and author Cormac McCarthy has died. He’s best known for his novel The Road, but penned at least 12 novels, 2 plays, five screenplays and three short stories. His first four novels are set in East Tennessee. McCarthy grew up in Knoxville. He attended the University of Tennessee. He was 89 years old.
