SC on up work with aush greetings Chings welcome to another episode of chud’s corner it is Saturday February 24th it’s about 11:30 p.m. here on the East Coast late start little later start to this game um but the Celtics get the 116 102 win in New York against the Knicks uh Jaylen Brown leads away 30 points eight rebounds three assists uh we’re going to break down the whole game for you before we do that I’m your host dugouts and with me as always King chudy King chutty how you doing tonight doing pretty well uh business

was just a game where we just kind of flooded them with so much um offense specifically in the second H second half there um that kind of just eventually put the game away got a little closer to a few points but overall it felt like again it’s it’s a sort of Underman Nick’s team they put up a good fight to start but uh certainly got a little overwhelming so we’re going to get into a little bit more of that later on but why don’t you go ahead first give us your break of the game how’
this game play out chudy yeah well spoiler alert for the Monday blog there will not be a new number one team the Celtics hold on to the number one spot in the power rankings another undefeated week they stretched their win streak out to eight games now eight game Road winning streak as well and um you know again I we keep saying it but just kind of a business-like performance tonight Nicks came out gave the Celtics their best shot hung around early the Knicks shot the ball really well in the first half uh Celtic are having
a hard time taking away the open three-pointers especially from kind like some of their role players and uh the offensive rebounding which is really just staple of the Knicks staple of Tom Tibido how this team plays and you see the extra effort guys like Josh Hart Isaiah har and Stein who just seemingly have have no business like doing anything in this matchup but they just good so relentless they’re just good players they like they really are at a certain point you just have to they are what they are and they just absolutely battle they create
extra possessions and um it you know you kept looking up in the first half and saying the like shooting 65% it’s like we should be you know it’s feel like we’re playing like perfect basketball and you know we’re up six we’re up four we’re up eight and it’s like these guys just won’t go away and uh again it’s just kind of their persistence it’s really just the way they play they’re like cockroaches almost it seems like you just like can’t get rid of these guys they’re just absolute pests uh they don’t stop and uh it’s
it’s it’s tough style to kind of for off especially if you’re not like in the mood you can see you can see why this team win a lot of gam if you’re letting up as many off of rebounds right well it’s a if you don’t show up ready for this kind of like battle for 48 minutes you can see how in the regular season they’re just going to pull a lot of games out because you you can’t take them lightly um no matter who’s out you mentioned no Julius Randle no OG an adobi obviously no
Mitchell Robinson so they’re vastly underman and and it seems like it almost doesn’t matter the way they go out every guy who goes out there competes uh they’re battling Jaylen Brunson I thought overall the Cel did a good job on him but I mean Kudos that guy like shades of Isaiah Thomas our Guy seriously the way he manipulates his body his footwork all the stuff he does so crafty in there and he’s he’s so small it just doesn’t seem like he should be able to keep creating but uh he’s Relentless he’s amazing at creating space
uh just with his body and his dribble so good job for him made it difficult um and you know they were giving the Celtics fits again for I think Celtics shoting like 66% going into halftime and we’re only up by six or eight points um and again it was really mostly due to Second Chance points and just like Relentless effort at hustle for the Knicks um so you know take that for for like what you will kind of where it’s not you know it didn’t seem like they’re doing anything crazy to stop us uh you
know despite what the ESPN halftime show might have said I’m not sure what game they were watching if you caught that whatever if not you’re lucky youed that one yeah but uh second half came out and you just saw the attention to detail uh on defense and it’s again it’s just like they focus on the little things that were stopping them stop letting up the offensive rebounds stop giving up the offensive the open three-point looks of the Knicks and the game changed around and I think a lot of people will probably like look at uh
the box score look at you know certain stats and say what changed is we started making three-point shots and we did again we weren’t really attempting a lot of Threes in the first half but I didn’t think that was like a problem or anything we were doing it was more just the way the Knicks were playing us and again we’re shooting 66% so we were just getting great looks inside the paint over and over again scoring a lot of points everything was kind of working for us and then um in the second half the threes
just started falling but I thought that was really a result of our defense the way we kind of picked it up on defense started focusing on finishing possessions on that end rebounding the ball pushing the pace up the floor the other way moving the ball and then it like naturally led to threes like I don’t think there’s really a change in any of our purpose or our game plan on offense I think it was just a result of like defense leading to offense and it really I mean it’s you know it’s like a cliche keeps
saying it all the time but defense leads offense it truly does as soon as we picked up the defensive intensity it was like the offense you know could do no wrong and again you go look at like quarter by quarter it wasn’t like anything crazy happened in the third quarter like we scored way more points this and out whatever it was just like they had nine threes right but we were scoring fine if you if you look at the first two quarters it wasn’t like we were having bad quarters and shooting poorly uh we were
just getting our points from different areas and again I think it was just a result of the way the game was going we’re getting stops we were swinging the ball ahead moving the ball around and just creating Great Looks I thought the Knicks tried to start doubling the J both the Jays A Lot in that quarter and we just those guys over and over again just kudos to them making the right play starting the ball moving and then getting the Knicks defense in rotation it leads to one of our basically any of our players just
having like an open set three-point shot which is a really good look and um again you know it’s it’s just so nice to see the progression of the game where the shot diet is so good and it’s like in the first half they’re giving us you know both subs they’re giving us up around the rim we’re getting to the hoop we’re getting layups in the second half they’re letting us move the ball around the perimeter they’re forcing the extra pass and giving us three-pointers we’re taking that too and it’s just like all right New York
Pick how you want us to beat you and we’ll do it and we picked them apart picked up the defense like I said in the second half re Brunson work really hard and took away the shots from the role players took away the easy Second Chance points and sure enough you know the offense kept humming built up that lead got it up I I think we got it as high as maybe 20 even in that third quarter and then in the fourth quarter basically just able to Coast to Victory uh you know I think they
scored 18 points in the fourth quarter or something like that they only had 20 something in the third I think the had 44 points in the second half so uh again for the way it was kind of just pestering us almost with their like Relentless offense and battling in the first half and then the second half it was like we just almost squashed him like a bug and we’re like all right enough like we’re getting this the fly off our back is gonna like stop pestering us did that and uh again just like a little
bit of focus and uh focusing just really on like getting what we wanted on offense and making them work extra hard on defense and it just went to show like the difference in the two teams when you put that effort forward especially with how how short-handed they were uh they really just like didn’t have the Personnel to match up hung around credit to them and I mean again it ended up being what 14-point game um but never really felt in doubt even in the first half when they were keeping it to like four to six
and then in the second half pushed it up over double digits and I I don’t think they really got it back anywhere close to that beyond that point so again one of those just kind of business-like wins felt like we didn’t exert too much effort just did what we had to do uh went out and when the chips were down we kind of made all the plays we had to do and coasted to another uh easy but yet impressive Road Victory against a really good playoff team yeah uh absolutely I think I mean we can
kind of and I think a lot of people have already but I think we can kind of put away the like third quarter Bugaboo thing that people have with the Celtics I think they’ve been a really good third quarter team this year um you can point to a handful of times that it felt you know where kind of felt like they’ve lost the Rope a little bit but uh tonight was just a good example again like you said I don’t think they came out saying like Okay now we’re going to shoot more threes than we
did before I think it everything was just coming really easy to them in the um and again you know I think that that it worked out to an extent obviously we had the lead and stuff but I do but I feel like the major issue earlier on was like the offensive rebounds and kind of the just some of the kind of lazy plays that were taking place um so once those all got cleaned up again it led to they’re getting better they’re getting more rebounds on defense which means they’re getting out into transition they’re moving
faster and they’re just getting a lot like better looks and a lot of those looks ended up being behind the three-point line um you mentioned the double teaming too I thought that that was a little bit strange like I mean I get the idea of double teaming like one of the Jays and stuff like that but it’s it just really seems like this team’s just so good at doing it you’re really doing it at your own Peril because there’s a couple times where they’re leaving I mean they’re leaving Drew holiday open in the corner to
go double team and it’s just kind of like it what it’s like the out is that outcome really better than like whatever Tatum or brown was about to do to you I mean maybe in some cases it is but feel like we have this conversation every night where just pick your poison like you know like there’s no good answer for the defense yeah that kind of I guess I mean that kind of is like a little bit of a segue into um you know what we’re going to talk about next because I mean obviously Jaylen
Brown had 30 points tonight he was going crazy in the first quarter crazy the whole first half um finished with the with um you know obvious the high score of the night but I do think you know like you said like where do you want to get it from like there’s there’s so much offense and it got to a point when I mean you had porzingis kind of had a little bit of a slower start but he got himself going yeah and like he’s hitting threes he’s also going down in the paint there’s just it
felt like we just flooded them and eventually that’s what kind of drives their role players out of being in a rhythm when the role players having to try so much harder on defense um I thought we got Brunson a little bit more in check too on the defensive end but I guess just offensively um I don’t know it’s almost like it almost feels I don’t want to I don’t want to make the comparison quite yet but it almost feels like sometimes those Warriors like Avalanche games where they would just kind of just go off I
mean theirs was more just like Splash like raining threes and stuff like that ours was you know there’s a little bit more Balan from you know where they’re taking their shots from but right yeah it that that third quarter it really felt and then you know got a little bit closer at some points but it never really that was that was when it got to the point where it was just kind of like I still feel like you know sort of like we said the last game it’s like okay they’re getting it close but I
don’t feel like we’re g to lose this game yeah um so yeah I mean I I just spoke to it a little bit but what did you see with like kind of the balance in the way that everyone was sort of getting themselves involved tonight yeah I mean again I think it’s such like a huge cliche in basketball that you hear teams say especially um I feel like you always hear star players say it when things go well that they uh they just like are taking what the defense is giving them but it really does
feel like that’s what’s happening with the Celtics like they are just taking what the defense is giving them I mean you saw tonight Tatum had only seven points at halftime and I thought he was playing great shots but I thought he he was playing great like he was just bringing the ball up uh starting the offense most of the time like he was leading the offense for the most part uh running a lot of high pick and roll and just like making the first pass that would get the defense in rotation and then there scrambling
around to basically recover from like his initial action and nothing he’s doing is really going down in the stat sheet but it’s like all kind of a result of what he’s doing and then again like you said in the second half they adjusted a little bit it led to a little more Tatum offense but then when they started doubling the Jays that led to ball movement led to Corner threes for Drew it led to a few open pick and pox uh for porzingis he got his three-point shot going uh Jaylen again they were getting mismatches
on him and he was just taking guys post relentlessly so it really Al too Al had a great game we you know Al like the the quiet I think Al deserves like a whole other piece to his game tonight always but he probably without looking he probably had 10 12 points on like four or five shots and I doubt he missed a shot CU they were all just like he mismatches and like easy layups over we they would like have they’re rotating and they’re forced to have like a guard on him we zip it down
to Al he’s turning around like basically making a layup like almost he he was five for seven with 10 points yeah he had the one play too where they had like four offensive rebounds then Alex got it I feel that was sick I feel like it’s kind of like with Al it’s sort of like uh he’s played few played I think 26 minutes tonight so it’s kind of like it’s one of those things where it’s like I feel like him having him playing like these fewer minutes it’s like what the effort and hustle that he’s
able to put in when he is in there like he can be such an impact player I just think at his age you know you can’t expect for the whole game so him actually you know at the start of the year I know there’s a little bit of like the you know quote unquote controversy like who’s coming off the bench or whatever but I think it makes perfect sense that it is out I think that’s showing now where it’s like go out there and just absolutely go crazy for like 25 25 minutes a night and
it’s gonna it’s such a huge difference make where you can have him at that full tank of gas for the whole time he’s out there you don’t need him out there for all 36 or whatever 48 minutes absolutely and I mean I think we’ll see you know if we do a playoff series and we’re facing you know impede or bannis or you know maybe eventually even yic someone like that and it becomes clear that like we need Al matched up with that guy as much as possible then maybe we do see a shift in lineups
but I think at this point like I I trust where this team is at to like someone and like let’s face it that someone is probably going to be like holiday has to be told like okay you’re going to be the sixth guy this series like I don’t think that would cause issues like I think everyone’s just prepared at this point for whatever it takes to win like regardless of the matchup regardless of the situation and again we know if we play the Bucks like we’re going to need a lot more than 22 minutes of
Al or whatever like he’s going to be a massive part of that series and it’s just such a nice luxury to know that he is there and ready and you know we like we see little glimpses of it in the regular season he’ll come on for a spurt and he had a few great minutes tonight but it really is just like he’s almost like an afterthought like I feel like I didn’t see him at all in the last game in this game it’s like you couldn’t can’t talk about this game without talking about what out
there yeah no he was great but again I just all five and really all six and even Hower had some great minutes uh wasn’t much much bench beyond that but it was just like every guy who played everyone in that starting lineup was dominant uh Derek had another really good game hit his shots Drew hit his shots we talked about jayen 20 points in the first half uh was just taking a to them over and over again and again you know what he did I feel like this another classic case and there’s been all this
discourse lately about Tatum and his MVP candidacy and this that whatever this is going to be a classic night where people didn’t watch the game are going to look and be like 19 points he’s you know third leading scorer and they killed the Knicks like he’s on a super team blah blah blah but it’s like if you watch this game like Tatum controlled the entire game yeah I think that’s what boua said afterwards he’s like a lot of things he did don’t show up in the most valuable category but right but it’s like the reason
our offense is so successful is because Jason T’s out there and because everything the Knicks are doing is reacting to what he’s doing you know and he it’s like it’s the biggest credit to him that he is able to be okay with that and say I’m happy scoring 19 points or whatever when our team’s crushing and our offense is absolutely humming and is this efficient and it’s because of the way they’re guarding me let all these other guys who are really good players have great looks and great shots and I mean today it was just
like that perfectly balanced attack going after whatever mismatch is presented to us um really just like not very few possessions where it felt like we really forced anything or like settled for bad shots um it just felt like we got like really great looks in the first half again it was a lot of stuff around the basket the second half and especially the third quarter a lot more three-pointers but really like again just taking what the defense is giving us and that’s a really good defense too you know it’s not like just some bum defense
where we’re like ah we’ll see what they’re doing and whatever Nicks are one of the best defens in leag and they bust their ass every game exactly and they grinded us and they made us work and we put in the work and did the work and worked to get really good shots and play really really efficient offense for almost 48 minutes and that’s how you just break a team’s will and the Knicks are not the kind of team like that’s the the one thing about them they’re not the team that gets their will broken they’re
the team that that keeps fighting and like a team that always ends up coming back and making their close us so I love that this game was just like no we’re going to put the close the door on this thing and make it and call us a match up exactly said like the roaches and we finally like stomped out the roaches like you’re done um and that’s good to see and again I mean it’s just one Whatever regular season game but those are the kind of things that like good habits um and just good signs
that you want to see and that’s you know what more there’s not much more you can look for and ask for in a game like this in the regular season at this point with team that’s 45 and 12 yeah um I just kind of had and I alluded to a little bit earlier I was sort of wondering um with like the the minutes so Tatum played 43 minutes tonight I feel like porzingis has played I don’t have it right in front of me but I feel like he played a little bit more than he might
normally play the previous game uh Missoula before this game was saying that over the next few games they’re going to they’re going to be trying kind of trying some different things out some like playoff looks out and stuff like that so I’m kind of wondering like do you think with the fact that they have only one more one game between now and in the next five days they have they have Tuesday they play don’t play again till Friday do you think that there’s like that Joe might kind of be trying to like have Tatum out
there almost it’s like you’re gonna play like what would be considered like game seven minutes or like like a Do or Die game get out there and like you know kind of get used to playing that so that when he gets to the playoffs cuz I feel like we’ve done a really good job of managing everyone’s minutes but you you know there’s got to be some bit of a ramp up so I’m just kind of curious if you if you notice that at all if you have any thoughts on it and like also you know
I feel like maybe look out for Jaylen to have a lot of minutes in this game on Tuesday coming up but um do you think there’s any like Credence like like I kind of said that too I sort of want us to not really be taking the foot off sort of keep ourselves you know within reason getting ready for what the playoffs are going to look like something’s going to be harder in the playoff well so it’s funny it’s almost both at the same time whereas like you mentioned Tatum at the 43 minutes but other
than him nobody else was even over 30 uh well Drew had 35 minutes but Brown 34 porzingis only 31 white 32 like all super reasonable minutes but it’s like we’re shortening the rotation in the fact that again cornette only nine minutes Hower only 10 minutes Pritchard 15 Al 26 and then everyone else is between like those low 30s kind of so it’s like we’ve shortened it where we’re really only playing like almost just the six guys obviously the other two the other two three play little but it’s really those main six and we’re just kind
of balancing their minutes out but if you look at like their actual minutes other than Tatum’s 43 they’re all like pretty low pretty reasonable for those guys like nothing crazy picking one guy a game to sort of like okay this is going to be like your the game that if you play minutes obviously is the guy who you know he’s 25 years old Peak Physical athlete like he can play 43 minutes you mentioned we don’t have another game until uh Tuesday night so you know two full days off the schedule eases up a little at
least in terms of the volume of games so I think that will help too um and you know Tatum he’s always been a guy who likes to play uh but yeah it could be brown the next game and I think again that’s the luxury you’ve got when you’ve got this many good players and this many young great athletes like Jaylen just like Jason he’s a great athlete like he can go out there and play 42 minutes in a game no problem it’s not like we’re worried like oh it’s gonna be wear and tear like on
his body like again you’re not going to be seeing Al Horford go out and play 45 minutes in a regular season game obviously a but if you know you want one of the Jays to do it you want Derek white one of those guys to play a 40-minute game in a game like this where again Tatum was absolutely rolling on both ends he’s playing amazingly uh they had no answer for him on the offensive end just matchup wise and he kept making the right play over and over and over again and on defense too he
was playing awesome defense um ended up being the guy switching on to Brunson a ton in that second half he was doing a great job with him was battling down low for rebounds the whole game is uh obviously you know a little bit undersized it feels like and he’s playing power forward so he’s is just getting in there so I don’t know if it was like a specific thing going into the game where Joe’s looking at and being like I’m going to run Tatum you know 40 plus minutes tonight I doubt that’s kind of like
the mindset going into only because you didn’t really feel like you needed him out there for that long so it’s almost like just get your wind up a little bit could have Tak him out maybe a little bit earlier he played a long time in a row but I think again he was just playing so well and the team was just running so hot and playing so well with him and it wasn’t like uh you know he was playing hard and like playing really well but he was kind of being more of like distributor and
kind of more setting the offense versus finishing the offense I think that’s probably like a little less wear and tear on his body a little less you know building his fatigue so they were kind of probably thinking we’ll just keep him in there till the game’s over and then at the end of the day he probably looked at the sheet and was like I could have probably ganked him out for a couple more minutes there but uh again I don’t think it’s anything too crazy and I think when you’re you know this team with this
many good players and this young players it’s like yeah whatever it is kind of just like a good test for the playoffs like you said get used to those uh playoff type minutes because you know if we get into the playoffs stum playing 40 43 minutes a game yeah like problem you don’t want it to just be like a like a surprise like oh I’m playing actually like seven or eight minutes a game so I don’t know just kind of a little little bit I think I feel like too with almost like hor for’s minutes
I feel like it is it’s kind of like getting used to that sort of what it’s going to look like a little bit more in the playoffs I mean you mentioned it too I don’t think I think Hower and Pritchard each had like close to double digits tonight um for minutes but other than that they really didn’t have anyone else out there and it was a game so Pritchard had 15 minutes Hower had 10 minutes cornette had N9 minutes um so yeah I just feel like it it does kind of feel like we’re getting a
little bit into that um I don’t know kind of bit of a little bit that playoff uh mindset playoff rotation but I mean again I think that’s good is it’s like these are the gut lineups that are going to play in the playoffs and that’s the whole the Celtics biggest Advantage they have on the entire league is their like Frontline depth one through six and that’s kind of the value of it is like when you have a sixth man who’s basically a sixth starter you don’t need a deep bench because you can just basically play
six guys starter minutes and that doesn’t like leave a lot of minutes left over you know when Al’s basically a six starter and especially in the playoffs he’s going to play around 30 minutes too like that six guys is playing 30 minutes uh and obviously some of them much more than 30 minutes and like you add that up and before you know it like you said there’s not that many more minutes to go around it’s a couple minutes of Hower a couple minutes of frch so I mean it’s also makes it just kind of funny
to look back at like all the little stress elex fans do about every little thing we like oh who’s going to be like our fourth big and it’s like in any real game like it just doesn’t matter yeah guy Co Mick had a had a tweet about that he’s like we really traded for porzingis and Drew holiday and everyone was saying like what about our like ninth man like and stuff like that yeah the exact tweet I retweeted it but it was it was pretty funny it’s just like what finals you’re playing like seven guys
yeah no right exactly like if it’s coming down to cornette then you know we’re probably already odds are a little stacked against us anyway exactly like is a good enough 12 man oh my gosh well he is but yeah that’s besides the point yeah yeah so I had just a couple other sort of like uh additional kind of things that I wanted to sort of bring up outside of the minutes thing um I thought that there was a good stretch there moula not calling a timeout when they kind of C started climb back into it
I know that was like a that was like the thing that people always want to talk about last year in games kind of a little bit more towards late game stuff but he sort of let them work their way out of the run and end up paying off they got themselves back up 20 so yep I think it’s just important I mean it’s not a whole lot more to say than that but shout out to Joe for kind of going with that Joe the absolute sicko shout out JJ reick calling him like an absolute sicko
or something like that it was pretty good I think reick reck had a great first game uh on on the call I think that was the first time first one these called with that group I think it was the second wasn’t it I don’t know the way they were talking at the end made it sound like it was sort of like that would his first one they saying good it is to have one with maybe that was the first time he spilled in for uh DOC The Legend yeah but that that was great I thought
that you know it made the the national broadcast a lot more bearable I think it kind of kept Doris a little bit more on her toes a little bit too Doris is fine when it’s she was all right when it’s off phly she’s good I don’t know one sticks out the most but she just she can’t like get past her Philly bias I think but other like before the Philly series I had always liked Doris I always thought she was good and again when it’s not like Sixers game I think she she is good it’s
you know she’s not like one of those just like take and she obviously knows the game and she says a lot of good stuff she just is so biased towards Philly it’s so clear it’s annoying but otherwise overall I think she’s good and I think you’re right I think we’ve talked about this before with JJ and whoever he’s paired with it’s he just like keeps these people accountable from just doing nonsense it’s good to have someone there they do they clearly do but it’s good like thank God he’s actually calling people out for like everyone’s
just spewing nonsense it’s good to someone there is just like well no like that’s no not true I wish he was on the halftime show when Stephen A goes on there it’s Jason Tatum he’s just not making Shots tonight he just Nick’s defense do do anything tat just can’t make shots yeah it’s just like make it more clear that you haven’t watched one second of the game like and he was gone for the uh the post game I don’t know if you noticed that too Ste oh know I fli was there the post game I
know I switched it over but it was definitely pretty funny to to tune in he wasn’t there sad I no no tman again tonight either is that we I mean should should we be just totally change our expectations for how often we’ll see tman play is he going to be like like a kada like like you know only going to play on games where Al pringus is out basically or yeah I mean again like I think what we just talked about where when you’re kind of treating this game obviously it’s not a playoff game but
it’s good when you play these kind of good teams on the road that you know are going to bring it you can treat it like a playoff type game and that’s what we did with the rotations and again we really just leaned on those top six guys like even cornette played nine minutes minutes the last two of those were probably the last two minutes of the game like he didn’t he played basically one short shift so it’s again we just like weren’t giving out a lot of bench minutes to anyone I don’t think it a
knock on Tillman I don’t I I just think it’s kind of whatever and yeah I mean I think in tight playoff games like that where we play our like playoff rotation that’s what it’s going to be it’s going to be our main six guys are all going to play probably around 30 minutes or up and then there’s going to be you know a spurt of Pritchard a spur of Hower a spurt of cornette and it’s going to be like if those guys give us something they’ll play more other Wise It’s they’re going to be in
and out and it’s going to be those top six guys playing so do you think that there’s any way that can work his way into being that cornette role like I think he can I think he definitely can and I think again there’s gonna be a lot of opportunities well yeah for sure but I think over these last 25ish games there are gonna be a lot of nights where there’s either no porzingis there’s no Al there’s a lot of non-competitive minutes or there’s just times where we don’t need to run those guys out there or
play them like even when they are healthy there’s going to be games that we just don’t like I don’t want to say don’t care but it’s not going to be like playing like it’s a playoff gam to win every single game I think there’s GNA be a game where it’s a tight game and Joe is like I’m not playing Allen KP combin 60 Minutes like go out there for 10 minutes Tillman and let’s see what you can do and we’ll live with the results and I think he’s going to have those opportunities and I think
if he plays really well he’ll earn more opportunities and it’s the kind of thing where you see kind of you know we’ve seen series before where guys will you know one playoff series they’re hitting they come in and start to play a lot of minutes the next series you know they’re not there it becomes a matchup game it becomes whoever playing the hot hand things like that so I think he’ll have a chance to be kind of one of those guys but I think nothing’s you know nothing’s guaranteed and if everything does go well like
there is definitely a chance we don’t see him play at all in any like meaningful minutes and not a knock on him or anything he’s doing wrong I think it’s just that like yeah you know hopefully everyone stays healthy and plays well and we don’t need it yeah no I mean yeah I was excited I mean I got had the meme all made up and everything we’re excited to get all I got all these exterminator X X-Men G me made up but he’s not playing all I think he’ll have some chances so a little selfish
I’m a little selfish on that end but um yeah you’re right Wizards game we do yeah we do play the Wizards like three more times so I feel like we’re defin he’ll have aot he’ll definitely get in there for a little bit um but uh yeah I think uh there’s not I mean I don’t have a whole lot I have a couple stats I’ll read off but I don’t know if you have anything else you wanted to focus on from this game I know we were going to do a little bit of Nicks talk too
about the Nicks do anything from this game I’m going to a few stats otherwise go ahead well so just the Nicks off if you want to do it now let me just I just want to go I think a couple things with this game um another just like kind of tentious defensive game they had eight Steals and four blocks so the Celtic Stock Exchange is way up uh right now um they so they shot I think they had 15 threes in the first half and 20 in the second half they finished 15 for 35 from
three so again I feel like it wasn’t I mean they shot pretty lights out everywhere else but I don’t even think there was that crazy of like a third qu nine of 12 and the Third on threes of 13 cuz I was confused with Pritchard that Pritchard half court cuz I was wondering I was like how do they would that come from but yeah but I mean again it was basically light out for that quarter and otherwise pretty like whatever shooting almost 58 points in the paint which was pretty huge I think they kind of
closed off the defensive uh or I’m sorry the rebounding difference uh finish 36 to 39 Nicks had a slight Advantage but only 11 to 15 on the offensive rebounds obviously we had that one play we had four offensive rebounds so that definitely helped to even it out but just taking care of all that stuff and again 34 points 12 for 25 so he had a good night but again I think they kind of capped him they kind of put a cap on him a little bit first qu had like 20 he had 14 down the
last for the last I mean that’s a lot of shots that is a lot of shots 25 shots I mean who else is going to do it on the team no no I I’m more just saying like you’ll I feel feel like you’ll live with him scoring 34 points on 25 shots is like what not super efficient like you know kind of is what it is yeah he made some tough ones going so sort of pivoting from you know mentioning who the hell else is going to shoot for the Knicks um what do you sort
of make I think we should talk a little bit about this Nicks team is a team that we definitely could see in the playoffs a team that we know um the injuries they’re dealing with now no no OG an anobi um they have no uh what’s the guy Mitchell who’s the Julius Rand well no Julius Rand but they also have the other the Mitchell Robinson Mitchell Robinson yeah so they have like three their basically whole front court is out and they have ogan and Obi who is the guy they traded for so go ahead and
kind of give us just sort of what to expect of the Knicks or what what you what your thoughts are of the Knicks team so I mean I have a ton of respect for the Knicks team in the way that they play and the way that they scrap and Claw and fight like I keep mentioning that they’re like pests and cockroaches and it’s annoying but that’s like ultimately kind of a compliment um you know it’s like they’re pests in the way that like you tip of the hat to them like yeah exactly they’re past in
the way that you know saying that they’re past and annoying to play is like a compliment to the way that they play and to how they get the most out of their talent or even being undermatched on talent but I think that that’s the kind of thing that you see they’re like classic regular season try hards and it’s a classic like Tom Tibido thing where it’s like they exert so much energy and try hard every single game in the regular season which is great and makes them a really good regular season team which they’ve been
but I think most teams you kind of know have this other gear in the playoffs where it’s like we’re going to turn up this intensity and like you you very rarely in the regular season see the Celtics like full on full boore like playoff level intensity which is good I mean that’s championship team you don’t want to turn it on much in the regular season sometimes you know these certain games where it’s like measuring stick but it’s like the Knicks do that every single night so I just my thing with them is that they don’t
have like another level to go to they already play playoff minutes like tip is he’s a psychopath he plays Josh Hart 45 minutes like every game like and he’s out there dying on the court um and it’s like cool but again I just think like once the playoffs are this just isn’t how the game works and those like little advantages you gain from your extra like hustle and effort are gone because everyone has that same level of energy everyone’s trying that hard everyone’s playing their best players big minutes um so like I worry for them
even you know full health or not like this just doesn’t strike me as something that translates to playoff success um and then the other thing is just I kind of hope we don’t play them because I don’t know if it’s something that’s like reliably consistent but if this game was close I would have probably way before what we at the 33 that’s into the podcast it would have been a lot earlier in that I would have brought up the officiating cuz it drove me absolutely nuts the way they officiated this game the way they officiate
Brunson is he might be the the worst grifter in the league now like he’s worse than like Harden and Trey young like he’s good but the way he plays it was the way he’s flopping around there on both ends he’s thrown three charges on which I think he hit the ground on any of them it was like they’re not even like the you pict charge where gets drilled exactly it was nothing like guys are barreling over him it’s basically je guys being stronger than him and just flopping around like pathetically is that he only had
six free throw tou I was just looking up what he had he only had six well I think he drew three charges too so I mean it’s it’s both ways but it’s like the grifting is brutal and I certainly hope that’s not something going to be a reward in the playoffs I can’t stand it um so again I mean just like I don’t want to completely like derail all this good stuff they’re doing and I think they are doing a lot of good stuff and Jaylen Brunson is a really good player it’s having an awesome
year but like the things in the playoffs that go away are like that extra hustle effort the extra minutes and the extra like fouls we’ve seen this time and again like those things just don’t translate over into playoffs so that’s my concern for this Knick team obviously if they get a healthy Randall and an anobi back things change a little bit but still like that’s so much of their game and I’m just not sure again where I think most teams will shorten their rotations crank up the minutes crank up the intensity and go to another
level I feel like the Nicks already been doing that they do that every night that’s just the tibs has one speed like that’s it yeah um and so again I mean it’s resulted in some really really good regular season teams and then a lot of times they do lose in the playoffs because they’re just like they get the most out of their effort and then when they can’t get the advantages there it’s it’s you know a different game so uh do you think it’s a little weird that tibs as long as he’s been a coach
hasn’t like I don’t know like adjusted of that a little bit I feel like like I get it’s like oh you can say oh it’s just who he is but it’s like yeah but like he’s got to realize that like like if you if me and you realize that you know and I’m not saying he has to change his whole philosophy but it can just kind of be like you can like for the first maybe 5050 games tweak a little bit kind I don’t know it’s sort of weird like you know you hear a lot
about coaches like you know they go from one place to another and they kind of learn everything at every stop they’re at I feel like this is his third head coaching job I can think of the Timberwolves the Chicago and now the Knicks I think you’re right yeah so it’s like I don’t know it’s just kind of weird that like I don’t know he hasn’t stopped to be like well we never have playoff success and like everyone runs out of gas so maybe I should well I think it’s a double sword because it’s like you
could argue the other way that he’s also like getting probably more out of his teams in the regular season and is getting them to like a better seed than they deserve a lot of the times and I mean again like last year like they were the what the four five matchup and they trounced the Cavs in the first round huge win and then like they lost in the second round to heat but it’s like I don’t know I don’t I I don’t feel like they’re like running out of gas and losing to teams they should
beat I just feel like they always kind of work up especially their fans into thinking they’re like better than they are and then everyone else kind of gets their level and it’s like you’re you were never that good so it’s like I I don’t think it’s a tips issue it’s just like your best players are J either way I feel like the Knicks always are kind of the team that just play like they’ll be playing like well and they’ll be a good team and like they’re like a rough like rough even like some of the
I think back at some of those series against like Carmelo and stuff like that when he was there it just sort of see they one of those teams where it’s just like you just kind of know exactly what you’re getting and then when the playoffs come around it’s just kind of like they played really well but I don’t know they just kind I mean I think they’re a fine team but like we you know over and over again in the NBA like if you want to be a real Contender like you pretty much need one
of the best Five Guys in the league and as good as Brunson is like I don’t know what would you say he’s like the 15th best player in the league like maybe at best yeah I mean going in I might have said higher but like you said he’s such a Griff there pissed me off like I was a littleit like ticked off the way he played but but yeah it’s like you say liability on defense like again it’s not even a yeah it’s just it’s just again when you actually look at the roster it’s like
your three best look at around you know the NBA look at the contenders look who their three stars are and then the next it’s Brunson Julius Randall like in an Obi are your three stars like well that seems like just not that good like they’re fine but they shouldn’t be the fact that people are even like considering them in the discussion with contenders is really just like a testament to how hard they play and how good like tips coaches them up but again like in the playoffs a lot of those little marginal advantages disappear and
then you kind of get beat by Talent usually wins out so um again I don’t really think it’s like a knock on tibs or a knock on anyone on the team I think it’s just who they are and like until they do probably get they’re like one star away from being really really good they have the Assets in the jet that they can go out and get that last guy I don’t know who it is but like as a team is constructed right now I just don’t think they’re quite on that level and I again
I don’t think it’s really like anyone’s fault or a knock on anyone it’s just that’s the team they are who they are yeah yeah they exactly they are who they are there’s nothing any I don’t think there’s any coach that could go in and like magically whip something up to make them suddenly be like a real contender in the East they’re gon ripping down uh Julius Randle signs again yeah exact it’s inevitable for yeah it is it is the life cycle I the life cycle of a Knicks fan yeah pretty much just get Wicked pumps
about the teams regular season play and then get Wicked I mean it’s fun it’s a it’s a fun team to root for as a fan like we love rooting for those Scrappy teams that overachieve and probably like play a little bit over their head I mean like I said it almost reminded me of like the isaah Thomas Celtics where uh Brunson is is like you know very reminiscent obviously they’re both undersized lefties who are just like super crafty but it feels a lot like that where it’s like Thomas and for them Brunson and just a
bunch of like role players who are like dogs on defense and they just like bust their ass win a ton of regular season games and then you get into the playoffs and it’s like you know that isaah Thomas team if you recall like the eight seed uh if Rondo didn’t get hurt that eight seed bull like might have knocked us off I think they took us to seven games and it was like as soon as it was playoff basketball it was like okay suddenly like all of our advantages are kind of gone yeah everyone’s playing
a lot harder the defense is all ramped up everywhere so yeah yeah exactly well shout out to Nicks we play one more time 4-0 this season against them yeah poor Knicks they mentioned a couple times because of the in season tournament the way it shook out usually in the NBA history no one’s played any team more than four times the regular season they have to play us five times and the Bucks five times so little brutal little bit of scheduling Nick there but hate to see it um yeah right yeah so yeah you know shout
out to Nicks they’re all right they’ll be all right it should be it’ll be interesting I think you said I think first round could be definitely be some something interesting um we can shift over to around the NBA what do you uh I mean we we finally got some games and things like that so some new things to talk about I know you’re I know you’re happy um go ahead and give us uh give us kind of what what’s been going on since the allstar break ended yeah for sure well uh we see you know
right out of the allar break we seen that playoff intensity uh trickle over as last night we saw multiple scuffles in the uh the heat Pelicans game we saw borderline brawl uh we saw there’s a lot of multiple dirty plays by the heat it was kind of an intense game the Pelicans were getting pissed off and then they kind of kind of finally snapped uh in the fourth quarter Kevin Love Like wrapped up Zion on a layup attempt and uh they just kind of went crazy Naji Marshall came flying in he almost like gave like
the Darth Vader choke to jimmmy Butler uh to which Jimmy Butler got mad and did like an epic Hold Me Back run where he wasn’t really running at him but he was kind of running diagonally alongside of him waiting for people to hold him back uh Jose Alvarado did like the flying jump punch to try to hit Thomas Bryant we saw four ejections we saw multiple fans throwing stuff trying to ignite the next malice in the palace so this was uh I mean as far as NBA fights go it was definitely more more than you
usually see there were some legit uh couple couple shots landed a couple couple chokes I don’t know if we haven’t heard anything yet if we’ll see suspensions I think we will because there’s like 18 players who left the bench and ever since that sun spur series the NBA has been super strict about that if you leave the bench you’re H suspended so could be interesting to see how short hand these teams might be in the next couple games but things are real testy there um like I said four ejections uh both teams playing the fourth
quarter super short-handed heat held off won the game uh pretty intense one at that and then in the post game uh they asked Jimmy Butler if there’ be any trickle over effect to the next time they play and he said yeah yeah he said uh sure there will be and uh we’ll beat them again cuz we’re just a better team um so I say something to like that guy should never be on me like or whatever he’s not on my level or some he had some weird I don’t know it’s some weird quote that he
had and then he you see his Instagram post too no he had like it was like uh it was just like a picture of him it was like a video of him leaving the court and I think it just like the cash was like like like it’s is time like it’s time now or something like that like basically turn it on to I don’t know it was super cringey yeah it very cring everything about the whole game was very cringe uh the whole situation is again just kind of embarrassing that’s really for almost all parties
involved uh but I’m glad that they play each other again and you know whatever nice to see a rivalry between uh New Orleans and Miami two teams that geographically are pretty close together but uh East versus West and rarely play that time it’s that time was the caption it’s just like him likeing his finger at all like the fans like the arena and stuff like that the it’s that time to win try to win close games against the Pelicans it is that time definitely and then there was also another brawl too or like near brawl
so yeah another mini scuffle late night it was uh this one game was the final seconds were ticking away uh hornets and Warriors the curry bowl out in Golden State and the Hornets had called off the dogs um waved the white flag and the uh seconde player with not a lot of experience Lester konz was in for the Warriors cut back door and made a layup when it seemed like everyone was just kind of running out the clock other than him the Hornets did not like that much uh miles Brides G him a nice little
forearm uh he got his face and then our oldan Grant Williams comes actually sprinting in from the other side of the Court got right in kon’s face um pushing him around this is one of those things like I think you know some people are going probably going to make fun of Grant but I absolutely love this look you look at that Hornets they’ve been an absolute lifeless franchise for multiple years like if there’s any team that needs like a shot in the arm and an injection of like what Grant Williams can give you I think
this actually could end up being like a really good fit where he could be almost I know he’s still young but almost like a veteran leader for them where he has actual experience he goes in and like say will you need a guy who’s gonna jump up and is gonna have your teammates back and will just like go get in someone’s face without like you know shoot first ask questions later kind of attitude um yeah and so I don’t know if you CAU like draymond’s comments post game I just thought were so out of line
and like so ridiculous Draymond also were burying the lead with draymond’s you can say what were his comments about Grant Williams so he basically just said like he’s a fake tough guy he’s doing too much talking this whole act like isn’t working for him blah blah blah whatever to me it’s basically like I think Draymond you could see him he’s on the bench so again we just mentioned how it’s like a huge point of emphasis that if you leave the bench to join in an altercation it’s an automatic suspension he’s obviously on super thin ice
no matter what so I’m sure like in they’ve told him like you cannot leave the do not leave the to me that press conference just screamed like I have such bad fomo from not being a part of that coule I need to make this B myself somehow so I’m just gonna go on like a five minute ran about Grant Williams because I have no other way to insert myself into this situation so he did all that stuff I don’t know if he has some kind of like beef with Grant almost maybe he feels like Grant
is kind of like they got into it a lot his corner yeah right right but like I don’t I mean I I feel like it’s I don’t know it’s weird it seems to me like Grant is the kind of guy who Draymond almost should like respect and see like a younger version of a guy who is like you know a late draft pick like not the most talented a little undersized but like works hard and is like making his living being like a tough guy uh you know an enforcer like a guy like that like
I would think Draymond would respect that but he’s basically just laughing at him saying like it’s a fake tough guy act it’s not working for him whatever so like I mean I just think that’s nonsense I think that’s so stupid I think actually like I don’t think anything about what Grant does on the court is fake I think you can be annoyed by it and like he’s definitely rub people the wrong way and you can love him but I don’t think it’s fake like that’s who he is 100% that’s who he’s always been he’s never
not been that guy like on the court I don’t think anything about that’s fake and him being like I’ll talk to him off the court like he’s a nice guy it’s like that that doesn’t matter like you can be a nice guy off the court like talking say that you’re you’re right well exactly right so like if he’s not like a to everyone then he can’t like act like that it’s it’s basketball he’s stick up for his teammates like I had no problem with what Grant did I actually liked it again I think for a
team like the Hornets you know the games the 10 seconds left in the game you’re going in there sticking up and being like hey you’re not gonna we’re not going to be pushovers anymore like you’re not going to push us around we’re standing up for himself I I like that I thought uh draymond’s comments about him were just ridiculous again I think he was just like inserting himself into the situation which is and this is where this is where I’m saying they bury the lead like the clip that they show it’s like all the quotes
and the tweets is like oh Draymond says this this and that about uh Grant Williams then yeah like the last thing he says in like that clip he’s like like to me like uh miles Bridges he’s the one that’s on the Hornets right yeah okay he’s like he’s like to me miles Bridges can do no wrong in my eyes it’s like oh damn like dude just like a very that was the first thing he said so again obviously sounds bad but to add a little context that Draymond and Miles they’re both Michigan guys they both
went to Michigan State they grew up together he’s like he is like his little brother so he’s obviously speaking of that that’s what he said he’s the full Cod he’s like miles cuz miles is the one who was guarding kenon when the play happened he first pushed him and then Grant ran in so Draymond started off by saying how he thought it was stupid that teams get mad about the other team scoring where he’s like there’s the shot clock’s still like on the game he’s like we were up 13 and we scored would you be
mad I don’t think so so it’s just lame to get upset about like the team scoring like that and then Bridges with the guy who’s right there so he’s like miles he’s like miles that’s my little brother like he can do no wrong in my eyes so I’m not going to talk about him and then he’s just like on grant for coming I don’t like that forget the context I think he just clip it at the miles Bri who do no wrong in my book well that’s where I’m going if you want to make that
the headline but like he obviously what he meant was just that that he’s okay with him beating women yeah exactly yeah Bridges is his boy him and bridges are boys they go way back I mean that’s what he went he just basically was like I can’t I can’t rip up my boy I have to go after someone else and Grant is the easy target for seemingly everyone I I mean I just thought it was crazy that people are like clowning Grant Williams for actually yeah for doing what you would want like anyone to do in
that situation like I I don’t think it’s just crazy to think there’s anything wrong with what Grant did um again like I said that’s what you want you need a guy on your team like that who will do that kind of stuff so I thought good for Grant and I thought you know clown comments by Draymond that to me like I said just screamed of him having full Mo from not actually being in the altercation I thought it was a big takeaway so again but uh you know like I said fun stuff one NBA regular
season night multiple scuffles like that you know get really get get juices going get so yeah exactly I love that um anyway a couple individual performances got to talk about Wy they had the five by five last night I don’t know if you saw that only the 22nd time in NBA history anyone has put up a 5 by five um he’s by far the youngest player to do it he did it in by far anyone who doesn’t know that’s five assists five rebounds five uh point five points Reb assist right five plus of all of
those things um which is just crazy like doesn’t happen funny thing is the first night back out of the AAR break Thursday night he came one assist shy of doing it and everyone was like oh my God so close to five five comes back literally the next night it doesn’t uh just absolutely crazy uh he’s now there’s only two players in the his only the second time in NBA history that any player has had five blocks and five steals in Back toback Games the other one was Michael Jordan so now Jordan and w two guys
who’ have done that again only 22 guys who have ever had the 5x five um I feel like it’s actually like gotten to the point already where we’re almost like under selling wemy people are almost like too just like H like immune to what he’s doing like it’s absolutely insane what this guy is going out and doing every night and it’s already almost being like taken for granted and like seemingly it’s that impressive like his stat it’s just like fake stats that he’s putting up like you look at the what he’s doing recently he had
like the 5 by5 came within one point of a 5 by5 the game before he had a triple double with blocks like he’s just putting up like absolute fake stats across the board nonstop uh it’s pretty cool it’s pretty exciting at a certain point I think just got to give some props to this guy where it’s like I think it’s just because the team’s not that good I think once the team’s good people notice and care about it more it is I mean that is impressive a 5x five is always it’s crazy and it’s like
every little bit of hype there’s been it’s like he’s just lived up to it and more which is pretty crazy considering how much Tye he has had so yeah yeah like I said I am excited to see once the team actually does get good um I’m excited to see his basketball fan a little nervous as C expanded me I’m looking out there we got start winning championships because you H this guy a couple years and uh I’m not sure he’s he’s gonna run this league pretty quickly so yeah right well they keep uh keep squandering
uh his his prime here with uh some bad teammates hopefully we can make that happen in the future but yeah damn it is uh crazy if if you’re not paying attention and honestly it would be hard like not to blame you if you’re just like a Celtics fan watching Celtics games like he’s like you said he’s on a bad team he’s not uh on national TV games every night but go watch this kid play it’s worth worth the price of admission and all the crazy hype you’ve heard about this kid being an alien this and
that like it’s all true and then some so uh enjoy it go watch it like try to experience it if you can um another alien out there Nicole yic coming out of the allar game with a back toback triple doubles he got a triple double Thursday night against the Wizards which now that was the only team in the league he had had gotten a triple double against so obviously the Nuggets who he’s played for he know is a triple double against every single team which is kind of a funny stat great stat um and he
did it with over 15 of everything which is like I think it was Zack low or someone on a podcast was saying we almost need like a new we need like something new to call it when it’s a triple double and you have at least 15 of everything it’s like yeah his triple doubles are almost more impressive they used to call like the Jason kid triple double when Jason kid would have like 10 12 and 11 it’s like yeah it’s a triple double but like it was like the opposite up like 35 20 like 18
like the guy is absolutely absurd um so just crazy he’s putting up those stats again almost had back-to-back Knights of 15 15 15s uh which is just stupid so two of absolute aliens out there in the west right now uh and you could see you know the best player in the league today and wemy could easily be the guy eventually takes the torure as the best player in the league so pretty crazy stuff out there to aliens uh at the center position in the Western Conference fun to see um we had a great game last
last night too between the Bucks and uh Timberwolves Buck going on the road getting kind of a signature Victory one of their Marquee wins maybe their best one in the season uh impressive stuff seeing more concerns with that Timberwolves late game offense a little bit scary um but again just kind of a good game uh F you know playoff atmosphere I think we’re g to get some of those battles we’ve had a few of them with the thunder coming out trouncing the Clippers was a good win for them so they’ve uh moved up that West
is honestly just like such a battle those teams and you look up and down the West it’s like that four five range like the Suns might be in the play playing game like that the playing game could be like the Suns with Durant Booker the Mavs with Luca the Lakers with LeBron and AD and like the Warriors like it’s going to be absolutely insane the playin the playoffs there’s like no easy wins I mean the first round again you could see the one and two seeds be like the Timberwolves and thunder and those two could
be matched up like The Warriors and Lakers it’s like is anyone going to be surprised if they don’t win those you know so it’s just I can’t wait playoff like it’s just going to be absolutely unreal uh we’re a great series left and right I I can’t wait to see like how the match up play out uh this and that I I think it could be really good especially if some of those kind of like middling is teams are playing well at the right time like the Pelicans can kind of figure it out the Suns
get rolling the Mavs get rolling even the Kings uh there’s just so many good teams so it’s gonna be super fun as a s fan glad we’re not at the West uh hope the all those teams just speed up on each other and you know whoever comes out of there I hope they have comes out of it yeah exactly or at least whoever comes out is pretty beat up at that point so um great stuff to watch really uh that’s it I mean for me really just awesome basketball like I said I’m just super excited
to kind of see how it plays out um Celtics now up to an eight game lead as the Cavs have uh Fallen back-to-back games coming out of the break so the Celtics went now a full eight game lead I think I saw that you keep bringing up the 08 team and the comparisons uh for what it’s worth that team never had a larger lead in the East than seven and a half games so yeah surpass that by half a game the Celtics team eight eight game lead which again I think the margin from second place
in the East right now to eighth is five and a half so there’s a bigger gap between first and second there is from second to eth I think I saw carelles too is has like the magic number I think it’s like 18 or 19 or something like that he does have the magic number count it makes sense I mean it makes sense it honestly does February we’re talking but I think I think it was either 20 or 19 yesterday so we won today let them make get at least well I mean how many what do
we say there’s 25 games left now right yeah I think that the I think the C though oh okay so something like that you probably out tonight I’ll look for it either way I mean the Celtics also what I think if they go 15 and 10 they’ll win 60 games which is I was talking um at home and I’m like you know I was mentioning the winning 40 games before you lose 20 and it’s like it’s realistic that we might win 60 before we lose 20 I mean we have to go 15 and eight down
the stretch I don’t really think that that’s like all that crazy to think about that’s like not at all if we go 15 and8 that would almost be like oh what’s going on with the Celtics it yeah exactly be like we pretty clearly let our foot off the gas almost yeah so that so that’s definitely kind of cool thing about and for that 4020 thing also the only the only could do the Cavs right and they’re 36 and 19 so they’d have to go four and0 and their next four and they’ve lost back-to-back games without
Donovan Mitchell um in the west the t-wolves and Thunder both have a good chance to get there the Clippers and Nuggets maybe but um yeah I mean again that’s not like to be all end all or anything like that but uh it’s it’s one of those things where like I’m hoping I I think a lot you know a lot of people just because the Celtics haven’t gotten over the hump yet haven’t won a title like people still are gonna have like an understandably healthy skepticism towards them but if the Celtics do like roll through the
East and go on to win the finals I think people will look back in retrospect and be like oh like we probably should have saw this coming well no that’s exactly it it’s like I don’t I feel like there is all this like all these numbers and stats just being thrown everywhere just like in my head I should back this is the greatest you know I’m big on like enjoying the ride so like I’m enjoying I’m enjoying it but it’s just like it is it’s like it’s almost like uh the comparison I was making with
someone the other day was in’ 04 the this is like a way back the 04 socks like when we won that game seven like we were up by a lot the whole time but like you never really like it never felt like as big of a lead as it actually was until the game was over and you’re like holy we did it um so that’s that’s kind of like you know I’m kind of channeling like little 14-year-old maze like feeling about that well I still feel like I I’ll listen to like National pundits talk about
the East and they’ll be like East is wide open and then in the back of my head I’m like wait like we’re dominating the East like it should like people shouldn’t have that Outlook but it’s like they just need the Celtics to prove it so like I said I think this hopefully KN on would the Celtics steamroll through the playoffs and then we’ll kind of look back and be like oh that was it actually wasn’t wide open at all like there was a clear Juggernaut team that was way better than everyone else and we just
like didn’t acknowledge that at the time because they hadn’t proven it yeah um all right we have uh Philly on Tuesday um Philly obviously KN and be they’ve won they’re four four and six in the last 10 games uh we give us a little bit of a breakdown of what to expect from the Philly matchup yeah so uh I mean you just without embiid they’re just a totally different team I mean this obviously a team that’s really built entirely around Joel embiid without him frankly like they’re just not a very good basketball team um they’ve
won a couple of games but yeah without him they’re really just not a good team Tyrese Maxi is good but um I mean again another small guard and the difference with him being like the number two Guy versus the number one guy is the difference between you know a borderline finals Contender and like a borderline playing Team uh straight up so again this you know Boston Philly blah blah blah whatever not a team that talent wise if we kind of approach the game seriously and uh you know play with purpose and focus not a team
that should give us too much trouble slowdown Maxi he’s the only guy really they have who can create offense they brought in a big butt Kyle Lowry he’s you know can do a little bit of secondary stuff off the bench um they got buddy hee at the deadline who is just absolutely gunning right now because they have no one who shoots and no one to provide offense right now so he’s living his best life just jacking with the greenest of Lights um doing some stuff for them but other than that I mean it’s a depleted
team they’ve been uh they’ve had other guys hurt de uh Melton just came back but he’s still been on a minute’s restriction uh Tobias Harris has missed a few games for them lately um and I mean again it’s it really goes to show the difference in a team like the Celtics who are so deep and so have so many options and so many really good players versus a team like the six who are just so clearly built around their Superstar and you know who is amazing and obviously you know almost almost any team yeah not
saying that’s like a flaw or something wrong with them but it does so happen that well it does so happen that that superar misses a lot of games and they are without him a lot but again most teams you take away the super they AR be very good Philly is a uh you know huge example of that um and you will see that on Tuesday night this is just not the same team um so again I think contain the guards don’t let Maxi go crazy don’t let Buddy heeld hit 10 threes and this should be
another business-like Victory hopefully for the Celtics I would love to uh get a nice little cushion and let former until recently sixer Jaden Springer go in and uh hopefully make something against his whole team be fun to watch so that is my hope for Tuesday night all right yeah I mean it’s always hopefully you know it’s always good to beat up Philly when they are injured so looking forward to that game is that in the GU is that on the road I think we’re back home right back home okay and hey it’s not our fault
