Cowboys, Eagles, 49ers lead the NFL playoff picture | FOX NFL Sunday

The story arc of the playoff picture is just beginning to come into shape. So let’s set the scene starting in the AFC. They’ve been producing out in Baltimore as the electric ensemble cast of the Ravens has them leading the conference. We’ve seen this story before. The Chiefs lead the west, as Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are looking for a trilogy of championships. The final grades aren’t in yet for the streaky jaguars, but they look to be in attendance for the postseason. You want some awesome action centered around the beaches of Miami. Then check out the

Dolphins who top the AFC East. Out in Pittsburgh, the Steelers defense is scary. Good and they’ve been performing exorcism with how they’ve been winning games after losing their lead. The Browns are still making us laugh as they hope to crash the playoff party. And it’s been a fun, quirky way of winning in Indy as the Colts have found a way to sneak into the seven spot. For now, the script in the NFC reads like this Philadelphia’s looking forward to award season as they hope to take home the big one this year. They’re looking for redemption

in San Francisco. And with this star studded cast, they may escape the NFC. Critics are torn on the Lions. The plot is compelling, but time will

tell if this team will be a blockbuster at the box office. The NFC South is crazy right now. It’s the Falcons who are flying the coop atop the division, but things look to get cuckoo down there. We’re all watching to see how things will end in Dallas. It’s usually dramatic, but maybe this season we’ll have a happy ending. In Minnesota, it’s been a dazzling directorial performance from Kevin O’Connell, but

can he overcome the clumsy cast and their sleepless in Seattle, not knowing if they will get into the playoffs? On Thursday, we saw the Cowboys beat the Seattle Seahawks. Jimmy and right now they lead the Wild card race in the NFC. But did we actually learn anything about the Cowboys in that game? Watch out, NFL. The Cowboys are starting to roll. You look at it, you know, Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level right now. Mike McCarthy after the 49er loss, he started designing plays and getting the ball to CeeDee Lamb 63, catches, six

touchdowns. That opened up the offense for Cooks and the tight end. And we know that defense, how well they can play this team when they’re playing like they are playing right now, they can beat anybody. Since that game they’re 6 and 1. Dak 21 touchdowns, only two interceptions. Michael a game that the AFC you start looking at the playoff picture there. And right now the Texans and Broncos are just on the outside and they face each other today. Yeah winner of this game have the chance to loser I don’t think does but get ready NFL.

The Broncos are starting to roll but you look at it they were 1 and 5 at one point we thought OK Russell Wilson he’s done. I mean, he’s not going to be there in Denver. He’s just not getting it done. What does he say? Ride, ride, ride, ride. Let’s ride. Bronco nation. Let’s ride right now. They’re riding five games in a row and the biggest thing is turnovers. He only has one turnover in his five game winning streak. And also on defense. They’ve cut the point. They’ve given up in half. They’re only giving up 16

points a game. So this whole team has had a complete shift as if they just hit a switch and became a completely different team going up against a Houston team, which is young but very talented. I mean, when you have a quarterback like CJ Stroud, rookie, but four games the NFL record with 300 plus yards passing tank Dell another rookie I mean, how great of a job they done in the draft and then they brought in Dalton Schultz. Dalton Schultz from the Cowboys and if their safety valve well Dalton Schultz is out Tank Dell’s a

little banged up. They’re going to have a challenge today, beating a hot Ryan that’s his name down Yes Yep head coach done a fantastic job. He’s done a great job. You look at Green Bay and Jordan Love their quarterback and how he has stepped it up. America the last three games just lighten it up. And Matt LaFleur one of the things I always love y’all have heard me say I love gunslingers. I like Josh Allen up in Buffalo. I love guys that force the ball down the field. Jordan Love does that. And the last four

games, what I’ve seen in Green B is the fact that Matt LaFleur has started to trust Jordan, love, play, action deep. Everything is. I’m not going to say down the field, Jimmy, because you don’t I know you got on to me that. But they I love the way they attack 1915 yards and father now beautiful offense that’s set up they’ve got to play Minnesota on the road Chicago at home but then they have Tampa Bay Carolina. And the New York Giants they can win all of those games. Green Bay possibly with an upset over Kansas

City today can make it to the playoffs. It’s hard to believe this is the first time Patrick Mahomes will play at Lambeau Field says he’s looking forward to it. How are we talking about quarterbacks? Two weeks ago, 38-year-old Joe Flacco was on a couch somewhere. And now he’s starting for the Browns at the Rams. He’s been throwing in his house in suburban Philadelphia in a field to his sons and his brother, who played in the Canadian Football League I don’t know what to expect. Early returns are that he still has a cannon. I think with

quarterbacks, that’s the last thing. No, he doesn’t have a candidate. No, they say, I’m telling you, what’s coming out of there is, you know, Amari Cooper says it, the staff says it. You know, I don’t know. The big question for. Is it’s Jim Schwartz. It’s Matthew Stafford. Don’t forget, Jim Schwartz was the head coach when they drafted Stafford. They know each other really well. A big factor in this game is Myles Garrett. Myles Garrett and Jay will probably talk about it a little bit later he came out of the game in Denver with something popped

in his shoulder. He was in a sling earlier in the week. Leave it to Myles Garrett, who’s a freak show. He all of a sudden Myles Garrett is great. Myles Garrett is ready to go. Wolverine I would say if the Rams could do anything. Last week they ran for 228 yards. That’s the formula. Denver did it last week. Cleveland didn’t have great success with it, but they stuck with it. They have to stick with the run game. I can tell you got a lot of sleep because I’ve never seen you so animated. And I’m loving

it, big guy.
