Grand Rapids Christian boys hoops aims for big postseason run

13 on your side, sports sponsored by my Toyota of Muskegon. It is a huge night in the sports world as the high school boys basketball playoffs begin tonight. 13 on your sides. Marko Junior shows us how one local team hopes to make it all the way to the Breslin Center. This season, the Grand Rapids Christian boys basketball program has had loaded rosters over the years. This season is no exception as they have at least five seniors who have the opportunity to play at the next level. However, this year, the Eagles have their eyes on the

prize as they aim to win their first state championship since 1966. There’s nothing like getting into the postseason and making a run. The Eagles feel ready for a run after finishing the regular season 22 overall. We’re gonna do everything we can to make sure we’re prepared. Take one game at a time. We’re not gonna get ahead of ourselves and we just want to go out and, uh, do what we’ve been close to doing what the Eagles have been coached to do is live by the DFT acronym, which stands for discipline, unselfishness. Focus and trust and

it’s paid off. The team is out here fighting for each other each night. Um, we just want the best for each other. We want to see each other

get as far as possible in, in the game of life and the game of basketball in the game of basketball. Grand Rapids, Christian knows the energy amps up to another level when it’s time to win or go home the community. Everybody, like, make it more hype, but just keep buying it and keep listening to, et we got a name for ourselves right now. So going into the playoffs

should be fun. What makes the ride the most fun is the brotherhood that the Eagles created through basketball continues to live on super special. I mean, so having some of your best friends for the last four years and being able to take the court with them each and every night, um, it’s definitely a blessing for sure, but the biggest blessing of them all would be winning the program’s first state title in 58 years. We worked really hard to set a standard here at Graham’s Christian High School for our boys basketball program. And I think the

guys have accomplished a lot during that time and we got a lot of work to do. But I think collectively, I think we’re on the same page and we just have to continue trust each other, you know, play unselfishly reporting in Grand Rapids. I’m Mark school junior 13 on your side sports, the Eagles will play the winner of Grand River prep in Kellogg’s at 530 on Wednesday at Unity Christian High School for a spot in the district championship. Be sure to tune in to 13 on your side tonight for highlights from the opening night of

the postseason at 11 o’clock and stay.
