Jack Nicklaus Speaks Out: Explosive Insights on PGA Tour-LIV Golf Merger!

many golf icons haven’t supported live golf since its Inception and Jack Nicholas is the latest to get in the ring with the Breakaway tour trust us things get really spicy in this bout so stick around until the end of this video to find out all the info if you’ve been following golf closely you would be aware of the latest news about the merger of the two most rival leagues in golf but in case you have been living under a rock and you missed it for the past year Liv has been at odds with its rivals

on the PGA and DP world tours the two veteran franchises are eager to dampen the momentum of the newly formed Breakaway league and why not the live came into the picture looking for smoke and they’re getting it literally never World Golf has spoken about the issue and by speak we mean come against the live from active players like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy to even media personalities like Randall Chamblee and now the legendary Jack Nicklaus Jack Nicklaus is one of or outrightly the greatest golfer to ever play the game we’re talking about a man who

won 100 17 professional tournaments and a record 18 major championships over a quarter Century so when such a man speaks the golf world must listen amidst the

feud two of the world’s top ranked golfers PGA Championship winner Brooks kepka and reigning Champion golfer of the Year Cameron Smith will be conspicuously absent from the Memorial tournament wait what easy not just them but all of the saudi-backed breakaway’s biggest stars will be barred from the tournament since it will be hosted by Nicholas himself this tournament will see 10 of the top 20 players in the PGA tour’s

FedEx Cup standings compete for a share of the increased 20 million dollar purse obviously Nicholas is firmly in the camp of the PGA Tour and he’s not shy to let anyone who cares about it know this fact he has been quiet on the issue for a while but clearly Nicholas hasn’t grown used to the live despite a year passing since its Inception in fact the legend dismissed the saudi-backed series players telling Sports Illustrated I don’t really consider those guys part of the game anymore and I don’t mean that in a nasty way or really mean

it that way jeez that would have struck some nerves but Nicholas didn’t care so he continued this is a PGA Tour event to me and we have the best field we can possibly have on the PGA tour those who are qualified to be present the other guys chose to go where they did we don’t really discuss it for the most part Nicholas has avoided the Pink Elephant in the golf world that is live golf however recently he stated unequivocally that he would not have participated in that tour he even mentioned that while about six or

seven of his club members in Florida the Bears Club have joined the live and are still on good terms with other club members he still doesn’t support live golf but the goat mentioned that the live might have actually pushed the PGA tour to do better and honestly the emergence of live golf may have benefited those who chose to stick with the PGA Tour check this out for example as part of its response to Liv’s multi-million dollar poaching of its top player the tour introduced new massive 20 million dollar purses for its elevated events we’re not

saying it’s better than the rebel circuit’s 25 million dollar purse at each event as well as the chance to win a championship but it definitely is a step up despite Nicholas’s displeasure with the large sums of money on offer the 83 year old does not blame those who have chosen to defect to live I don’t blame the guys who went to live he said you must choose between playing golf for a short period of time for a large sum of money to save for your family or do you have the dedication to play regular golf

than the senior tour and finally retirement however he continued to state that the emergence of the lib forced the PGA to react and while he supports purses he doesn’t support the creation of a secondary tour within the PGA Nicholas wasn’t done just yet though he added that he disapproves of the Liv’s attempt to use the money to buy the game he believes that those who have chosen to remain loyal to the tour are more concerned with the game itself than with the financial reward that comes with it here’s the thing though Nicholas didn’t just hate

on the live for no reason he has his reasons to back it up and there are things he said that no other golfer can disagree with given Jax immense success during his playing days the legend spoke about how he was only concerned with the Love of the Game when he played adding that most players today only play golf for the money some guys may not care about golf they are simply very good at it it’s merely a means to an end for them and if that’s the case that’s fine after lashing out at live golfer

trying to buy the game he revealed some pretty shocking facts when he did my lifetime earnings including both tours were around 8 million dollars or so 10 guys make that now every year well damn that’s just crazy Nicholas claimed that his generation of golfers played the game for love not muddy but this generation is the complete opposite at least all the players on live golf are according to Jack Nicholas apparently times have changed and the chance of making more while doing what you love is more appealing clearly Nicholas doesn’t think so and he is kept

on grilling the live for it but while Nicholas has repeatedly shared his opinion we got a response from the live Camp which was pretty interesting and who else would it have come from of course Greg Norman CEO of live golf reacted to Jack Nicholas’s comments about the saudi-backed live golf invitational series Norman has never been known for saying the right things and once again he might have gone too far when he called the golf legend a hypocrite he even said even says had initially supported the concept of a breakaway franchise that offered more money in

less playing time we did a little digging and found that those accusations are not entirely false Nicholas once said that live golf Investments apparently approached him about taking the lead role in The Venture but from his side of the story he declined not that he ever gave us a reason as to why though but according to live golf officials Nicholas was not offered the same role Norman now has but rather an ambassador type Arrangement that lives narration claims that this is the only reason Nicholas declined the offer according to the 18-time major winner however he

only heard the Liv’s pitch as a courtesy they obviously called Nicholas explained before adding this we’ve also had a contract for a golf course in Saudi Arabia for several years I did it as a courtesy to them because we’re building them a golf course but once again he wasn’t done he added that he had absolutely no desire to trade his allegiance to the PGA tour for money and that he grew up watching the PGA Tour so he would try it I told you it was a back and forth though so Greg Norman came at Nicholas

again with a reply saying a hundred percent true Jack is a hypocrite Norman replied in a lengthy Washington Post story that covered far more than his involvement with live golf Investments when he made those comments I thought to myself Jack must have a short memory well damn that must be below the belt don’t you think anyway Norman went on to state that Nicholas attended a live golf presentation and later wrote in an email that the new league has his Blessing oh yeah quote unquote he said this is good for our game if it’s good for

the game of golf I’m all for it Norman concluded his jams at Jack Nicklaus by saying do you want the facts you have the information before you open your mouth consider what you’re going to say despite all these back and forths it did not take Legend Nicholas seven working days to redress his comment after something very strange took a toll on golf live golf and the PGA Tour together in one space this news came as a shocker not just to the PGA Tour loyalist but to everybody who trusted Nicholas to always give his two cents

the last three years have been difficult for the game and the players indeed it has the golf Godfather thinks that live golf’s motive might not have hit the green light but the merger would be good in the golf world in a discussion he had with Jay Monahan the commissioner of the PGA Tour everything seemed to be in check he seemed pleased with the arrangement that will once again bring together the best players in the world I agree that this is good for the game of golf the 83 year old said although these men might be

elderly they definitely still have some fight in them as time passes we may see more developments from both Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman but that’s not the craziest thing about the whole beef that’ll be the fact that Greg Norman had long regarded Nicholas as a mentor anyone who watched golf in the 1980s around with Norman was at the peak of his powers can testify to this he even famous second to Jack Nicholas at the 1986 Masters but now both men are on the other side of the line and do not want to let go of

the drama we hope that come 2024 the time this merger takes effect everyone will take a lot from this whole beeping
