Sports psychologist, fans weigh in on Detroit Pistons' historic losing streak

CBS Detroit’s Alisha Baggio is on your block outside of LCA with more on how this season could be affecting the team. Losing 28 games in a row would be tough to handle and most likely taking a toll on some of the players on the Detroit Pistons. Question is though how does the team move forward when dealing with a historic losing streak claiming the title of the most consecutive losses in the NBA? Not something Detroiters are quick to brag about. What are your thoughts on the Detroit Pistons this season? I’m glad we got the Lions right

now. All jokes aside, sports psychologist Jason Levitsky who doesn’t work directly with the Pistons but has years of experience with athletes says this losing streak may have a serious impact on our players mentality. And in order to score a big win this season, the team needs to remain optimistic. We have to make sure around a culture of a team that is going through something like this that we do remain somewhat positive, stay focused again on what we need to do each and every single day and we have to take a hard look at what we

are doing, how do we prepare physically, mentally our nutrition, our sleep, how are we talking to each other And hopefully you know if they stick with it

they can get out of this nasty streak and hopefully this will be something we laugh about in the future. Now Matzke says it’s more mind over muscle for the team at this point in the game. This Pistons fan still keeping the faith. Do you think there’s a chance that they could turn this around? I think it’s going to get better because it can’t get any worse right now. And

with nearly 50 games left in the season, the Pistons may have a chance to rebound when they take on the Toronto Raptors this Saturday in Detroit. So fingers crossed. We’ll see what happens. Reporting in Detroit, Alysia Burgio, CBS News, Detroit.
