Trevor Lawrence "questionable" for Saints game

From the Barra and Farra sports desk. It’s first coast sports. Hey there, first coast we’ve got Thursday night football on our forecast here soon. And what everyone wants to know is Trevor Lawrence starting against the Saints. Well, in today’s injury report, he is questionable for tonight’s game. They also moved Nathan Rourke up from the Jacks practice squad. It looks like they’re preparing for Trevor not to play. But again, it looks like if he doesn’t, this will be the first time in his NFL career that he doesn’t start a game because of an injury. That being

said, if he doesn’t start back up CJ, Bethard will, he’s been in the league for seven seasons now and chats of will the Jaguars backup get called up to play against the Saints are happening. Offensive coordinator and QB one say they’re not sure. But if CJ Bethard goes in, the Jags are in good hands, the confidence is very high that we can go out and run our offense and he can function at a high level. Um He’s got experience in this league. He’s got experience now in our system, the guys around him, trust him. Uh

we know we could go out and function in, in a solid way with the possibility of win the game. If that was what we needed to do, he’s gonna be prepared. Um

Either way, like he’s a start, whether I was kind of, you know, questionable going into the game or not, he, he still prepares the same way. So I got a lot of confidence in him. I know our staff does. Our players do and that’s a big thing too. The guys, the guys up front, the guys in the perimeter backfield, all that, they all have

a lot of faith in him. So, um he’s a, he’s a guy that’s ready to step in is if, if that’s needed, he’s gonna do great. Now we are hours away from the Jaguars prime time game against the Saints. This will be their third different time zone in three weeks. The Jaguars say they’re up for the challenge and preparing for it the best they can. They say they’re relying on the team’s chemistry and reps to help with a short timeline ahead. Keep in mind this team just beat jet lag. I mean, we have a whole

game plan in, in less than 48 hours from when we just finished the last game. Um So things happen very quickly. You kind of fall back on, you know, having a unit that’s been together for a while for the most part. Uh So, so you got some plays in your inventory that you’ve got banked reps on that you can lean into a little bit, um, just trying to identify things that we do really well that we have a lot of confidence in without getting a physical rep. These, these two days of practice, essentially right here,

coaches and players are always on a schedule in a routine and routines jacked up. I came over right after the game on Sunday trying to get as much information as I could, but we understand that it’s a Thursday night and it’s a great opportunity for our team to go down there and play. So we’ll be ready. We’re just gonna have to, you know, speed everything up. Our week nine sideline 2023 game of the week is taken us to the west side of Jacksonville. That’s where the riverside generals will host the Sandalwood Saints. Our live coverage

starts tomorrow at 5 p.m. Hashtag team sideline. This is about that time again where we get to show your pictures and videos after you use the hashtag team sideline here. We’ve got a snapshot of Jeremiah Douglas in game mode. Thank you MW Entertainment 904 for using the hashtag team sideline. Well, that’ll do it for your sports. We’ll be right back after this short time out.
